Not my first order and certainly won't be my last

It's not my first time ordering from WFD, and I'm pleased to say that they continue to offer a 5* experience. Competitive prices and straightforward ordering are a real plus. I ordered late on 30th December, with New Year's Day looming. I was impressed that my order was delivered on the 2nd of January. WFD packing is 'state of the art', ensuring cans of paint arrive in pristine condition. Most other online companies would do well to follow WFD's protocols.

I like the range of supplies in B&Q but…

I like the range of supplies in B&Q but I'm always wary of the prices. I bought sand and gravel, found what I needed and the prices were competitive. However, I also wanted some lengths of 14 mm wooden dowelling. This was available in Pine but I thought it was overpriced and ended up buying much higher quality Oak online - at half the price and with free 48-hour delivery.

I usually find BG reliable but...

The pleasant engineer arrived on time. I usually find BG reliable, but I believe the engineer forgot to clean out the inline scale reducer on my recent gas boiler service. It's usually done, but it was not mentioned in the report this time. I plan to request a follow up for this - let's see what happens...

Package thrown into back garden :(

I was out when UPS delivered my package. It was thrown over a high gate into my back garden. Unsurprisingly, the driver did not leave a note to advise me of this. I discovered the package the next day. As it was well wrapped, it survived the rain - but no thanks to UPS.

Further to the reply from UPS my thoughts are that it's interesting that the inconvenience is placed firmly with the recipient (who had hoped for better service) and the seller (who did nothing wrong).

Ordering is a clear and straightforward process

A clear and straightforward process to see the availability of items in stock, at my local branch, and into the basket. And it's easy to continue shopping with a seamless return to where you were (unlike some clumsy online systems). Good choice of payment options and great comms to update on the progress of the order through to ready to collect.

Terrible click and collect experiences…

Terrible click and collect experiences x 2. One purchase of a set of three tent poles only contained one pole. The inner bag had been ripped open before the poles were bagged up for posting. On the most recent purchase, my men’s medium socks were actually kids socks on the adult size display card. Looked like they’d been switched before posting. Click and collect communications are at times confusing and someone needs to take a serious look at what messages are sent and their clarity.

Undervalued and potentially overcharged

Felt undervalued, as a loyal customer with few claims over many years, as my renewal premium was inflated and around twice what a new customer would pay. Had to negotiate a lower premium that, whilst successful, required me to do the work.

Good online service but keep the messages clear and simple

I was very pleased to be able to get supplies via Toolstation online during the pandemic. A minimum order of only £25 allowed free postage which was great. I’ve only given four stars as, although there were several email updates, it got a bit confusing and it was not clear that I would receive two parcels on separate days.

Great service as always but a note of caution

Great service as always with easy online ordering and on time delivery. 4 rather than five stars as the two 5 litre cans arrived dented. No big deal but better packaging could help avoid leakage if postal services are clumsy.

A great online experience

Rather than search around (and perhaps wait) for the DVDs I wanted, I ordered 10 online. They all arrived quickly and although I received more than one package, there was only one postage fee - less than the cost of driving and parking. I'll use the service again and can confidently recommend to others.
