Sven’s island Manuka balm has been a holy grail for the last 3 years. Our baby then struggled with moderate eczema. Steroids would help at the start but his eczema never completely cleared before another flare up happens and the duration of steroid use to see a result kept getting longer. We started using Sven’s Manuka balm together with steroids and started noticing small differences like flare up that aren’t as angry, quicker healing and fewer scratching ‘craze’. The difference weren’t big enough at the start but we kept using it and eventually bought a second tub. It was very heavy on our pocket and like every other eczema parents, we’ve spent so much on creams and clothes and bedding while going crazy hearing the scratching at 2am. After consistent use (2nd/3rd tub), we noticed that while bubs still had flare ups, his skin was starting to heal quicker and the flare ups eventually slowed. As his skin got better, we needed less of the balm. We’ve now been using Sven’s Manuka balm for over 3 years and are on our 6th tub. It has also cleared my husband’s eczema on his nose. Sven’s is fairly pricey at the start but it does gets cheaper especially with their occasional BOGO offer! Their customer service is also very efficient and professional.
