The gym has a really good range of equipment and the owner is lovely!
However - the gym is filthy with dust bunnies all on top and under machines amongst other dirt. The fire exit is chained shut and the windows are bolted closed. No fresh air coming through, only aircon. I’ve also had fleas on me on quite a few occasions whilst walking through the carpeted areas of the gym which has resulted in flea bites. (I don’t own any animals so I know they weren’t ’brought in’). The toilets smell like pee and are dirty. Also other members have told me about the yellow in the showers and hairs on the walls which apparently have been that way for quite some time. (I wouldn’t know as I have never used the showers). The small room out the back which is used for classes also has quite a bit of dirt on the floor and the anti bacterial spray seems like it’s extremely diluted with water.

We appreciate your feedback and are sorry to hear about your experience. We're glad you like the equipment and owner. We'll address the cleanliness issues. There are two fire exits and neither are chained shut. The door that is chained shut is not a fire exit and has been chained shut to avoid the door being left open as it is close to bushes and we chained it shut to avoid pests coming in through that door. The windows are bolted closed for the same reason to avoid pests flying in or crawling in. The toilets are cleaned at least three times a day but unfortunately there are times when members do not make a reasonable attempt to clean up if they use the toilets as a urinal. We have put signs in toilets requesting they are not treated as a urinal to avoid causing unpleasant smells as they are designed for use sitting down. The antibacterial spray is environmentally friendly and leather friendly and whilst it is odour free and transparent it is made up to the correct dilution level. The ventilation system is a fresh air conditioning system and keeps the air fresh and is fully operational, not just air con. The showers are cleaned twice daily however we have also noticed some people leave hairs on the walls, hopefully with the intention of taking them to a bin but they are removed when the showers are cleaned. The studio used for classes is cleaned daily however at peak times some days if people have muddy shoes and do not make use of the two large doormats provided to wipe their feet the mud can come off on wooden flooring. We are sorry to hear that you had flea bites. The carpets are hoovered daily to remove any dirt/pests etc accidentally brought in by any of the 400 daily visitors to the gym and we have two large doormats to give people the opportunity to wipe their shoes at the entrance area and the reception area.
