My experience with Zip-Ty Racing
I purchased a premium CNC-machined rear brake disc guard from Zipty Racing Products and was genuinely shocked when I opened the package.
The machining quality and surface finish of the shark fin I received were, in my opinion, completely unacceptable for a premium-priced product. Visible machining marks, poor finishing and an overall appearance that simply did not reflect the quality I expected from a professional manufacturer. I have purchased countless CNC parts over the years, and this was among the most disappointing I have received.
What made the experience even worse was the company's response.
Instead of acknowledging my concerns, I was told that once the part hits a rock during the first ride, it will have scratches anyway. That has to be one of the most astonishing justifications for poor finishing I have ever heard.
Following that logic, cosmetic quality before delivery apparently doesn't matter because the customer will eventually use the product. That is not how premium manufacturing works. Customers pay for a new product in new condition—not for one that already looks poorly finished straight out of the box.
I was also told that I was the first customer to complain. Whether I am the first or the thousandth is completely irrelevant. Every quality issue starts with the first complaint. Dismissing customer feedback simply because nobody complained before is not quality control.
The customer service was just as disappointing as the product itself. Rather than standing behind their workmanship or offering a genuine solution, I was basically told to either keep it or return it on my costs from Austria to USA for a refund. The implication that I would "complain again" if they sent a replacement only reinforced my impression that customer satisfaction is not a priority.
There are plenty of manufacturers producing beautifully finished CNC components while also treating their customers with professionalism and respect. Based on my experience, Zipty Racing Products is not one of them.
I cannot recommend this company.
