I think the best for me is car check-in and check-out were smooth.

This was my fourth visit to Iceland, and the first time I chose Zero car hire, and in my view their system has been the best I’ve used by far. So easy from arranging the car hire online, information sent straight to my phone with the pick up details, just collect the car keys from the locker, and you’re on your way. No waiting around in a queue, and very easy at the dropping off point. They offer good insurance options too. I’m planning to be over in Iceland in the new year, and I will again without doubt use Zero Car Hire.

We hired a “used” model 4x4 and it was great for our trip along the South Coast. I loved the digital business model, which made it easy to get the keys and find the car. Plus there was great comfort in knowing everything was covered. The only downside was we ended up getting a manual instead of automatic (I think my booking error) so I had to do all the driving!

The experience of hassle free pickup and drop was top notch... It saves ample time and no question delivery leaves a smile on the face.
On top of it the prepaid fuel service adds further to the positive experience. Would recommend zero car to everyone visiting Iceland.

The pick up is a very smooth and easy experience. Online check in was available a week before my pick up date and just need some basic details to finish. On that day, just use the key code to get the key and it's super easy to find the car. All previous damages were shown in the report they sent to you. Returning is also easy, just drop the key to the reception. No hidden fee, no craps.

The car was perfect for all the roads and tracks we travelled on throughout Iceland.

Also, they showed great empathy when we had a huge problem with our flight back to home and made their terms more flexible, a gesture we will never forget.

From online booking and registration to contactless pick-up directly at the airport and quick key return at the counter, I can only describe my experience with Zero Car Rental as perfect. I recommend them to anyone looking for good prices, good vehicles, full insurance and great service.

Contactless pick up process at the evening we arrived. The keys were waiting for us in the locker. The car (Dacia Duster 4x4) was in mint condition. With full insurance option included we didn't have to be worried about anything during the car's drop off. It was a great rental that allowed us to experience Iceland with no concerns at all. Will recommend it to all my friends 💪🏼

The service was fast, everything went smoothly, the car was in good condition, clean and drove smoothly without any unnecessary noises.

Online check-in was easy, the walk from the airport wasn’t too bad, even though we nearly froze solid 😅(missed the shuttle) and the car was spotless and simple to use. Drop-off was ridiculously quick — blink and it’s done.
Only hiccup: we got a different model than expected, and it was tight for 4 adults and 4 suitcases… but that’s probably more on me.
All in all, great service and would totally book again and highly recommend.

Overall, the rental process was smooth — one of the best experiences I’ve had so far. However, the car was quite old and had already exceeded 100,000 miles. When driving at high speed on Iceland’s highways, especially during strong wind and rain, it felt like the car was about to fall apart.

Renting a car was incredibly convenient. Even though my flight arrived in the early hours of the morning, the self-service pickup process was smooth and effortless. The car itself was brand new and offered a wonderfully comfortable drive. With full coverage insurance, I felt completely at ease even when driving along rugged, gravel-strewn roads. On October 4th, we encountered strong winds during our journey, but the rental car provided a sense of security and reliability throughout. Returning the vehicle in downtown Reykjavik was just as hassle-free, bringing our trip to a seamless and satisfying close. It was nothing short of a perfect journey!

Very satisfied with the service! The early-morning car pickup was quick and simple. The car matched the model we rented, was clean, and well equipped. We always felt very safe thanks to the GPS tracking. Throughout the trip, we received alerts and warnings about potential hazards or weather changes in the areas we were driving through. The full-coverage insurance truly covers any possible damage, which is especially reassuring in a country where weather conditions can be unpredictable. The drop-off was also very fast.

Everything from start to finish was so easy. The shuttle bus from the airport was easy to find, stress free getting the keys from the box and the car we had was an upgrade to what we booked. The car itself did everything we needed and was in very good condition. Very straight forward process returning the car too. Wouldn’t hesitate to use them again and would highly recommend.
