Clydesdale Bank Is a Joke they should…

Clydesdale Bank Is a Joke they should…

Clydesdale Bank Is a Joke they should have their Banking Licence withdrawn. Please be aware that they are also Virgin Money. I only opened account in August 21 transfering from Tesco Bank as they were closing current accounts.
I have had to make several complaints about Virgin Money app, blocking payments which 3 months later they have not resolved.
Just tried to use mobile app, could not log in. Tried to log on to internet banking could not. Phoned and they stated account locked due to unusual transfer. As writing this 1hr later still on the phone waiting for their department to sort out as I have not made any transfers for over 1 month and I have had no communication from Virgin Money to say account blocked. I have had nothing but trouble with this Bank. 1hr 15min later put through to fraud dept spoke to Waqas who stated nothing to do with them who put me through to another fraud dept who are not working due to coronavirus and phone cut off.
now back on the phone at the start again.
Follow up
Got through on the phone again and spoke to Lindsey he could not advise me or put me in touch with anyone that could tell me what was going on. He then told me I needed to go to my nearest branch in Bromley which is 50 miles from me. I must point out that I am disabled OAP and at my own expense I immediately travelled the 50 miles to Bromley. I then waited about ¾ hour for Natalie to get onto head office and be told that a Letter had been sent to me on the 17th February 22 that I still have not received explaining the situation. I asked Natalie why they had told me to visit the branch. She stated the shouldn't have. I can not put in words what I feel about Virgin Money. Received letter 0n 24th February stating they had closed my account 7 days from the date of the letter with no explanation. Got back on phone to make another complaint about the closure for no reason and again spoke to Lindsey who stated I could not make a complaint as their was a previous complaint ongoing. He never made any apology for sending me on a 100 mile round trip to the Bromely branch and hung up on me. I have now been in touch and made a complaint with the Financial Ombudsman. Take notice if you have a Clydesdale Bank Account, as you could be left like me, without access for weeks or months to your funds in your current account and any savings accounts like me.

Terrible service …

Dear Sirs

I am being messed about by the Clydesdale Bank – Virgin Money.
On the 31st. May 2021 I phoned the CB bank to notify them I would need to forward £15.000 from my account to my roofing contractor’s account for work completed on my roof. I was told to go ahead and forward the money using my internet banking app, this I did, but the request was not carried out and my account was then closed down.

I phoned the Clydesdale Bank and explained what had happened. They took some details and then assured me that the account was once again live. This was not true, the account was still closed.
Once again I phoned the bank and spoke with another person and was told a letter would be sent to me with a code enclosed. I was to use this code to prove I was the person named on my account.
A letter arrived on Friday 4th June 2021 from VM with a heading (Funds Transfer Payment Advice) and mentioned something about my Camelot Lottery Account which I could not understand.

During this time “7 days” I was unable to access my pension or other benefits which are automatically deposited into my bank account. This was a real hardship for me as I have terminal Pancreatic Cancer and was unable to pay for food deliveries or online purchases. My health condition has dramatically got more severe, I lost 6kgs. in 7days and had to go back into hospital.

Thank you.
Alexander Macdonald.

Business Account removed from my CB App.

Four days ago my Business Account was removed from my CB banking App. No notice, no communication.

I have used the App chatline, business account contact number and been in the branch twice to bring this to their attention. Talk about ‘mixed messages’....four days of conflicting information and no resolution.

In the current climate of high levels of fraud and business pressure due to Covid this is not what I need.

Absolute disgrace.

Absolutely shower

Absolutely shower. All I wanted to do was open a business bank account, after a whole day of emailing back and forth and supplying information, documentation, more info, more documentation they ended the application because the income was from two different streams (consultancy and accountancy) and could not be combined in the one account - if I wanted to continue I would have to submit two separate applications?! Ridiculous! I only checked their reviews after going through this debacle and I must say that I am not surprised in the least!! Complete clowns.

Bug doesn't allow me to access account

For over a week I have been unable to access my business account. This has been caused by an alert notice telling me that Clydesdale is now paper free. When I press the Continue button nothing happens. I have spoken repeatedly with staff at the bank over the last 10 days who tell me it is a known bug and that the Technical department is looking into it. This morning I elevated this to the complaints department who again told me they would advise the Technical department. No one at the Bank provides me with any feedback - neither email, phone or text. I urgently need to transfer some monies from the account to another person. It is deplorable the way there has been such a lack of urgency and customer care.

I should state that I use as preference Apple Safari as a browser. I was informed this may be the problem but have also tried with Google Chrome - again the same problem. Totally agree with many of the other negative sentiments on this site. Have also emailed the CEO - we'll see if it provokes a response.

The Covid Lockdown Card Cancellation

Been trying to get details of my replacement card for the last two weeks specifically to avoid the situation of no access to funds.

Asked the same simple question repeatedly when was the replacement posted? and confirmation as to where to? Initially fobbed off, then told no records are kept, after asking repeatedly and eventually told it had been posted but as it hadn't turned up had existing and only card cut.

Without being contacted and prior to being able to get cash out to tide me over.... my existing card gets cancelled. Which I find out at the checkout...so no dinner, no breakfast, can't use public transport, and after a 30min call with customer services I'm told they don't have access to any of the messages or previous communications and told the only way to get access to my accounts/cash is a 9mile walk to branch.

Awful customer service, systems and procedures.

Caused us huge amounts of stress for no reason

Caused us huge amounts of stress for no particular reason and seriously let us down. I'm going to switch as soon as possible. A little context: We are currently applying for a family members visa. I needed three bank statements as part of the application from this bank, TSB and Santander. these statements MUST either be printed in branch or delivered on Bank stationary. Both TSB and Santander printed them off in branch, signed them and stamped them. When I went to this branch to do the same they told me they couldn't, they weren't allowed to and then questioned why we even needed them stating they weren't needed for the application. One of the tellers (probably a student) said she didn't need them for hers so why do we need them for ours. We need them because the government rules say we need them and say the visa would be refused if we didn't get them. Staff were rude, unhelpful and just told us to call the phone line. When we called the phone line they basically told us to p*** off. We used live chat, they told us to go to branch. Called the branch, they told us to print them off and take them in where they would stamp them. I printed them off and took them in, they refused to stamp them and said they didn't even have stamps in store. I called the phone line, they said they would send them in a few days via post. A week later there's no sign of them. We are now facing having my family members visa being refused because this bank can't use a printer. I've wasted hours and hours of time over three pieces of paper that every other bank printed off for us in 5 minutes. Whilst the branch is nice and shiny they will let you down when you need them and make your life unnecessarily complicated for no good reason. Avoid like the plague.

I have been a customer personal and…

I have been a customer personal and business with Clydesdale Bank for over 25 years and their customer service is now non existent.
I am being treated like they do not want my business anymore, I
guess they are not making enough money from me.
I raised a complaint with them and was told they could not check my complaint as they had not recorded the telephone call, very convenient, as they had not asked me one security question either.
Time to change and make a complaint to financial ombudsman.

Totally shocking service from CB Business

Honestly, can't believe how bad this bank has become. I have been a customer for over 30 year - personal and business. They have introduced a daily limit on Internet transfers on my business account - never told me and it's a low limit. So I can't pay the supplier, their telephone banking doesn't recognise the sort or Barclays bank!! So they cant pay it! They need to 'send it to a different team' to add the sort code onto their system - ludicrous and it will take 48 hours. All this and the sort code and account have been on my business account for months. Can't give me the phone number of the 'relationship manager' assigned to my business account. That says it all. No one has the authority to change this limit so only option is to raise a complaint that take 8 weeks if you are lucky and in the meantime nothing changes. Had enough.

This bank is absolutely appalling

This bank is absolutely appalling. I was defrauded by someone of nearly £500 - this person was using a Clydesdale bank account.

After contacting their customer service team, they palmed me off and didn't take the fraudulent activity seriously. Eventually i had to obtain a crime reference number and escalate to the Banking Ombudsman to have them take me seriously acknowledging my complaint under reference [#2254504].

Not only that, i provided their customer 'experience' team comprehensive details of what happened, how it happened, account numbers, names, details, times and dates - essentially doing all the investigation for them - this was in October 2019, and in January 2019 they have failed to provide any meaningful update. This is a shambles - money has been stolen by one of their customers and they have no protocol in place to handle this, and are unable to provide any details of what they have actually spent the last 3 months doing.

The ombudsman have now become involved and asked them for a final response - this is not good for Clydesdale (ref: PNX-3390434-W4Z8)

If you are using Clydesdale to bank with - i would be very very concerned as they clearly have no measurable controls around fraud, and could not care less about customer or any other service. The fact that i have had to escalate to the Banking Ombudsman tells you all you need to know about the quality of Clydesdale.

Avoid at all costs.

Blocked account

Been banking with them for just over a month and they have blocked my account accusing me of money laundering . No real explanation , won't tell me how long it will take for the investigation to conclude and after 2-weeks my account is still blocked

Absolutely ridiculous.

You have been warned , don't go there
as they love hammering innocent customers !!!!!

UPDATE , CLEARED ME BUT WOULD NOT PAY ANY COMPENSATION . THEY SAID ME MADE CORRESPONDONCE WITH ME , DIDNT RECEIVE ANY . ASKED FOR COPIES BY POST BUT THEY WOULD NOT SEND AS THEY STATED THAT THE MATTER HAS BEEN CLOSED . SINCE THEN I HAVE CLOSED THE ACCOUNT AND RECEIVED A LETTER FROM THE BANK . IN THE PAST I HAVE RECEIVED BANK STATEMENTS AS WELL SO WHY I DIDN'T RECEIVE RRPLIES TO COMPLAINT LETTERS IS BEYOND ME

Disgrace insensitive , tactless , useless

DITU

KEEP YOUR HARD EARNED PAPER WELL AWAY FROM THEM

So few staff at the tellers' positions…

So few staff at the tellers' positions and, so few positions to start with. Bang! right in the centre of a big city and only two positions with two bank staff behind, open on a Friday afternoon at the end of the month. All the staff are stressed, no wonder! Their bosses have the bank under staffed to save money so, they all have far too much workload. I couldn't work like that I would make mistakes, understandably so. The staff do try hard and do their best to be nice and helpful but, it's so unfair of the managers to run the branch like that. The ques get long and one hears customers tutting and sighing and the heat in there is too much. It's all very well all the shiny glass and glossy oversized computer airbrushed coloured images everywhere. Lovely. The plastic moulded juxtaposed illuseable island display/writing podiums inside, A heavy atmosphere.
Clydesdale and Yorkshire Bank, hire some more staff. Oh dear!
