Chef Gordon cancelled with no…

Chef Gordon cancelled with no explanation what one week before booking. Do these people not realise what goes into the planning of these events?!
Offered credit to my account by yangty as if I would use them again! Told them I wanted an immediate refund and to be fair this was done but no apology or explanation. Don’t take a chance on your careful plans being ruined as now looking at other reviews it is not the first time.

We’re really sorry this happened. We understand how important your event was and take cancellations really seriously because we know just how big the impact is.

Reading this review was really difficult. We hate letting our clients down and unfortunately Gordan cancelled without any notice or reason.
We’ve taken the following steps to make sure this doesn’t happen in the future:
- We no longer work with Chef Gordan. We can’t continue to accept a chef letting our clients down
- We’ve revamped our emails to make sure they reflect the fact that in the rare event of a cancellation, refunds are instantly processed
- Also, in the rare event of a cancellation, we’re making it easier to find a replacement chef immediately

I entirely understand why you may not want to use us again but as a small business, we’re working hard to get this right. We’ll get in touch and offer a goodwill gesture in any case and ensure that if you ever do book again, a member of the team will oversee it personally to make sure all is well.

Whilst this was hard to read, we do really appreciate the feedback.

Chef apologies

My name is Alberto Braibanti and I am the chef who cancelled Rosie McKeown booking 5 and half hours before.

First of all I want to apologise once again to Rosie to have ruined her weekend.

As I have mentioned to her I had to cancel her booking last minute as there was a train strike which had affected the line I was expected to travel with. After that I had even try to find other chefs who could be available but no one was committed to do the booking due to the short notice.

However I want really to apologize once again to her and her guests.

I take 100% responsabilities for this matter.

Regarding YHangry I feel to say from my end that it is platform that aim to connect customers with chefs and it works very well in most of the cases for both ends delivering unique experiences.

I am sincerely apologize.

Do not use this service!!

Do not use this service! We had a weekend booked away and a chef booked for 2 months and he cancelled 5 and a half hours before he was due to come! Completely ruined our weekend and we were left with such short notice we couldn't book anything in the local area. So disappointed.

Chef Darek made our celebration extra special

This was our first experience of hiring a chef - yhangry made the process so simple. The chef we engaged (Chef Darek) was amazing and all 11 of my guests could not have been happier - his food was delicious and the level of service he provided was exceptional.

Working with yHangry was super simple. The tech they have is amazing, allowing you to speak directly to the Chefs to find the perfect one for your occasion. We hired Chef Manoj and he cooked up a truly beautiful Pan-Asian meal. All of our guests were blown away and enjoyed each part of the meal. Thank you!

Chef Vijayen was wonderful

Chef Vijayen was wonderful! His service was amazing and he left the kitchen absolutely spotless. All of the food was delicious (the crab and the lamb especially), and so made a 60th birthday very special! Thank you Chef Vijayen.

The Magnificent Chef Fouad!

How chef, Ched Fouad, arrived promptly, assessed which kitchen and glassware etc to use, and immediately got started with his magic. He was extremely personable, friendly and talented. The 6-course meal he prepared was nothing short of magnificent. And afterwards, he and his staff cleaned both kitchens, boxed up our leftovers and even specially prepared another full meal with dessert for the next day using the ingredients he had at hand. Highly, HIGHLY, recommend Chef Fouad for your next experience!!

Neel was amazing!

Neel was amazing!! He cooked incredible India food and catered for all dietary requirements. He was extremely professional and left the kitchen spotless afterwards. Would definitely recommend Neel and his delicious menu :)

Shambles

Shambles. Our friend booked for her birthday weekend for a stress free treat. Come Friday, the chef booked dropped out. Upon contacting the team, we were told nobody was available. We then messaged the network via the app, eventually someone replied saying that they had plans, but could move them to help out. Legend. Come Saturday 2pm, they also then cancelled (to be fair, their child had to go to hospital). But either way two chefs cancelled last minute. The team essentially can't do anything to help. Whilst we were able to then make other dinner plans, it added a huge amount of stress. There was also absolutely nothing offered as an apology besides a credit note -- as if we'd ever book again! Madness. You can imagine that if the customer were to cancel last minute, you'd be expected to pay in full. Yet the chefs cancel, sorry nothing we can do...

Hi Howard,

We're sorry that on this occasion we weren't able to help your friend Cecilia with her booking.

Your party requested a chef on our platform Wednesday evening at 6pm for the coming Saturday. Unfortunately, the chef didn't accept the booking and rejected it on Thursday. We began looking for an alternative chef in your area immediately and reached out to all of our local chefs before widening our search.

We're glad that you found and accepted an alternative chef on Friday who could travel from further afield to cook for you, and it was unfortunate that they also had to cancel due to a personal emergency on Saturday afternoon. They did offer to cook for you another night, but unfortunately, as you were leaving the venue the next day, this wasn't an option.

We reached out to our chefs in the area, but unfortunately weren't able to find someone last minute to cover as it was a Saturday evening. We issued a refund immediately and offered credit as an apology.

We understand how frustrating chef cancellations can be and apologize that our attempts to find a solution were unsuccessful on this occasion.

I'd also like to extend a personal assurance that if Cecilia reaches out to info@yhangry.com to rebook, I'll assist her to find a chef. We'd appreciate the opportunity to make this up to your party.

Darek cooked up a storm!

Darek made the most delicious meal for my sister's hen party. His communication before the event was great, he arrived on time and he tidied to the point where you wouldn't have known he had been there.
All the girls loved the food. Darek was lovely and friendly. I would recommend him to anyone!

YHangry was very friendly but the website is a let down

YHangry was very friendly but the website is very unclear and misleading.

I loved the chef with booked but the 3 stars is for the poor website.

I booked the chef and paid the deposit after I was shown a quote.
I never received an email from YHangry with my quote and when it was time to pay the balance I was made to pay a different value.

With the help of the chef I was able to get a refund but communication was very confusing as everytime I had a question they weren't able to help me.

Incredible chef. Website chat glitchy

Yhangy’s chat functionality is a bit wonky I messaged the chef the same message about 7 times because there’s no delivered prompt. Thank goodness she was patient and kind. I was able to have a great meal with a wonderful chef. I’d definitely use the service again.
