This company is working in cahoots with Copytrack in attempt to scam legitimate image users out of money. They first act as if they KNOW they own the image - which is found to be completely bogus in most cases, and then they try to bully you using this German law firm into paying money for an image that you do not owe. It's a real scam and I cannot believe it's been allowed to continue as long as it apparently has. Advice: Stay clear of Yay Images.

Ignore messages from Copytrack and leave one star reviews as a way of legitimately putting them out of business for this fraud

I would suggest not to buy or use any images from yay images because even if you have licence or not their copytrack partner will keep threatening you.

I got a lifetime membership that allows me to download up to 10 images a day. It's been working just fine and dandy for me. Maybe not as much variety as other stock photo sites, and it would be nice if the image page showed similar images, but overall I've been pleased.

I see a lot of complaints here from people who have received copyright infringement notices. I've gotten the same thing using other stock image sites that I've had subscriptions to or bought from. The companies seeking out infringement are vultures, trying to scare anyone they can into paying hundreds of dollars (or more) for images. I don't think it's something YAY is doing specifically.

Scamming people with legitimate licences. Scum company with scummy practices.

Scam company, running a scam RACKET with another scamster copyright.....sending threatening emails in bulk to scam people.... SHAME

Yay Images offers supposedly free or freemium images, then months later, you receive a copyright infringement notice via Copytrack, demanding hundreds of euros. This happened even though the image was downloaded for free, with the source clearly cited in the article, and without ever receiving a notice of the license change from "free to paid" (which legally should be the case).

This method strongly resembles a trap, aimed at extracting money from honest users.

Avoid this platform. Do not download any images from Yay Images, even "royalty-free" images. Always check and keep official licenses (other sites).

Repeated reminders from Yay Images via Copytrack can become harassing. If this continues, we will consider legal action in return!

YAY Images used Copytrack to send an email to one of our customers trying to shake them down for money. YAY Images claimed the rights to an image that was actually purchased/licensed from Adobe Stock. Apparently, trying to scam people into paying money is the YAY business model. YAYYYYY

Their business model is not to sell their images from their image bank. It is to send out copywrite claims at a random via Copytrack and hope that people pay up.

Use Yayimages and approx 18 months later you'll get an email from COPYSCAPE begging for money.

Bottom of the barrel, parasites. Just beware and ignore their false claims of copyright infringement.

What a way to make money! You should be ashamed but probably think you are smart and clever. Undoubtedly as some point you'll need to rebrand as you've been exposed too much.

I have had a very negative experience with YAY-Images and cannot recommend this agency.
As a contributor on Panthermedia, the stock gallery was sold to YAY-Images in 2024. Due to the promising claims made, I agreed to the transfer of my photos, hoping to continue selling usage licenses for my images regularly on YAY-Images as well.
However, the transfer of my photos and my account balance took several months.
During this time, no licenses were sold.
When I inquired about the timeline for the transfer of my photos, I received only vague and non-specific responses.
Further inquiries from me were eventually left unanswered — as if there were no support available for inconvenient contributors.
As a result, I decided to delete my account with YAY-Images. I also requested the YAY-Images team to transfer my remaining balance to me.
Both requests were denied, with the justification that account deletion was not possible, and any balance would only be paid out if it exceeded a certain threshold.
When I asked how I could possibly reach that threshold if my account was to be deleted, I once again received only generic and uninformative responses.
It is clear that YAY-Images is deliberately and strategically withholding the balance I had earned through Panthermedia.
The company's headquarters are located in Oslo, which unfortunately complicates any potential legal dispute.
Lesson learned: I will no longer agree to the takeover of my content by other platforms. Unfortunately, the stock photo market also includes many disreputable agencies. YAY-Images is undoubtedly one of them — a fact that is only reinforced when reading various other reviews.

Total grifters.

Use a company called copytrack to send out copyright infringement emails demanding sums of money when I have a valid licence for the image through another provider.

Clearly this is how they monetise their platform

Stop sending fake copyright warnings. Scam at all Levels using copytrack.com to initiate fake claims and ask for compensation. The Police Should investigate this company and Arrest them.

Common criminals at best on a good day. Use CopyTrack to threaten legitimate businesses with incorrect and spurious claims. Why do the authorities in Berlin not close down CopyTrack for a start. Who could even be associated with these companies and their principals in any capacity.

Stat away from this company! If you need some reprezentative pictures, use other services, like Freepick..

Do not approach this company. They work hand in hand with CopyTrack.. If you have an image from another company, for example, Adobe or Canva, YaY claim it is their image, they send you threatening emails.

Shady Tactics and Copyright Scam – Avoid YAY Images at All Costs

My first encounter with YAY Images wasn't through their website or marketing — it was through a threatening, legal-sounding email from a German-registered copyright enforcement company called Copytrack. They claimed I had infringed on copyright by using an image supposedly owned by YAY Images — an image I had legitimately licensed through Shutterstock. I had never even heard of YAY Images or Copytrack until that email landed in my inbox.

Everything about the email screamed scam — from the aggressive tone to the demand that I log into a suspicious online form to “settle” the matter. A quick Google search confirmed my suspicions: there are countless reports online alleging that YAY Images and Copytrack are involved in what appears to be an extortion racket, targeting artists and businesses with baseless copyright infringement claims.

What’s especially disturbing is that YAY Images claims ownership over images licensed through entirely unrelated and legitimate agencies. If you're a creator, business owner, or web publisher, you should stay far away from YAY Images. Associating with them could expose you to legal headaches and unethical copyright traps.

False copyright claims like the ones they and Copytrack are sending out can backfire — especially under German law — potentially resulting in lawsuits and legal penalties for them. So not only is this unethical, it’s legally risky behavior that no respectable company should engage in.

Bottom line: I wouldn't touch YAY Images even if they paid me. Their practices are shady, their partnerships questionable, and their approach to copyright enforcement downright predatory.
