They completely screwed over their…

They completely screwed over their users with multiple accounts their TOS HAD no rule against it and support DID encourage the use of multiple accounts.
Instead of giving users a heads up to their new rule they immediately banned users with multiple accounts and striped them of all their coins. Giving us no chance to convert them into cash.
Absolutely scum.

Edit: I also forgot to mention. I ordered the sentinal card. I received it... it was bent... I contact support... they said send it back for a replacement... I did... never got my replacement...

So I mined xyo on coin for years

So I mined xyo on coin for years. Went on a vacation for awhile and when I came back to the app. They took all my xyo/coin for lack of mining/use.

So before putting alot of time into this. Just know if you take a pause for some time, you could lose it all. They pulled the rug on me and expect me to start over at -0-. Very disappointed in this project....

Stay away from this company

I downloaded the app in 2019 and was mining xyo since then, last year I began paying a plus subscrition ( I had almost 1 million coins) one morning I looked at my smartphone and noticed tha the app was blocked and there was a message saying "Prohibited activity: your account has been suspended please contact coin...xy.company". I contacted the company asking what was wrong with the app, the next day I received this message: You are no longer welcome to use the COIN app and further accounts will receive the same permanent suspension.
Ensure any subscriptions you may have open have been cancelled. I couldn't believe what I was reading, then I send another email asking why my account has been suspended. Then they email me again saying: "You will not be permitted, under any circumstances, to redeem the COIN fraudulently acquired by this account. This account or an associated account was involved in one or more of the following:
- Using invalid or expired subscription credentials.
- Location spoofing (falsification) and/or device emulation (which failed to report correct speed, altitude, and location data).
- Excessive account creation, trial subscriptions, or other activity exploiting or adversely affecting the services."
I was astonished how they could come with so much ridiculous accusations. I am sure I never ever violate their terms of service, I don't even have knowledge to do any of the things they mention on the causes of the suspension, and worst of all, they didn't let me redeem all my coins. They even threatened me with a lawsuit. For me this is theft. And that's why I come here to warn everyone. Don´t waste your time and money on this.

Still checking out having fun

I used for a week I'm a new yet my sentenial card hasn't arrived yet for $12 ain't bad vs when they want $60. The Best part I haven't received it yet they automatically gave me the perks until it arrives that's cool. Anyways all negative reviews I understand most people want resolution or results. This world is full inpatient people things take time for I have time to enjoy this app. Then when time passes I could be a negative person saying I got ripped off or say it was good experience. If you still unsure and reading then this is the time to go for enjoy it play along. If is real it's worth it enjoy your hard earning if it's fake you didn't invest much just your time. Everything in this world is full entertainment we pay for everything to give us enjoyment I say enjoy this remove all those negative thoughts go for it.

Excellent app to collect crypto

I have had a free account with XYO for a couple of months and have already cashed out twice. There are many opportunities to make extra coins in addition to geomining, including surveys, paid gaming and watching ads. It seems confusing at first, but if you take time to explore the opportunities and are prepared to spend time using the app, you can make some money.
Regarding the bad reviews on here, I think many people have not understood how to use the app, or how cryptoexchanges work. If the value of payouts seems very low it is because ALL markets have plummeted recently - crypto and stock markets. If you hold your XYO there is always the chance that it's value might rise significantly in the future - or you can exchange your XYO for a different currency.
I may upgrade to a paid account in the future, but either way I am very happy with the app and think it is a very interesting way of collecting and learning about cryptocurrencies.

Fraudsters and Scammers

I had been using their COIN app for more than two years. I once redeemed 10000 coins I had geomined for XYO that were roughly equal to 4 dollars. It took me more than a year so not worth it at all.

Last month I bought their Pro subscription to check if it was worth it. For the first few days I was only able to geomine 2500 coins per day. But as I understood it more I was able to geomine 4000 coins per day by geomining more in my homebase as I don't drive a lot. On the 23rd day when I had geomined enough coins, if redeemed for XYO, that exactly equal to the cost of the Pro subscription they suspended my account all of a sudden. I contacted their support regarding this. After 4 days they replied that I was using invalid or expired subscription credentials (when my subscription was still valid), I was doing location spoofing (I don't even know what that is) and device emulation (I have been using their app only on my mobile phone) and I have been creating excessive accounts ( I had only account for more than 800 days) and trying their Pro subscription trial (when I had actually bought it).

All the accusations stated in their reply were false and vague but still they stated their decision regarding suspension was final without giving me any proof of the above mentioned accusations.

Now I can't even redeem the coins I have geomined.

They are just scammers and looters and their apps are complete waste of time and money.

Don't listen to the complainers

Very fun app, and I've made over $1200 using it. The people calling it a scam obviously don't understand how crypto exchange rates work.

My one reservation: The company claims that we (the app users) are building out a location-network, which will be used by their eventual customers. But I have a suspicion that WE are the end-customers, shelling out $35/mo to their company. And the supposed location-network is just a pipe dream to keep us here.

I have no evidence for that, and I've made money regardless, so it doesn't really matter to me. (FYI I am a truck driver.)

Made $70,000 and climbing

I can say definitively that everyone giving one star is absolutely clueless on how the app and exchanging actually works. One person is complaining about how the app is just gamified and the coding doesn’t work and there’s no value. They’re clueless no matter how much they think they breath coding. Google doesn’t give you free maps that used to cost hundreds to update because they don’t make money. In fact they bring in about $4.3 billion a year so they don’t understand the value of data. Another person is claiming they should have cashed out $140,000 but got way less… the app gives out $5 per 10,000 coin based on a rolling average on the last 7 days of the value of the XYO token. So no, you should not have gotten $140,000, you should have cashed out to XYO earlier. The lack of competence of these one stars hurts.

Realistic Expectations

I see the bad reviews. Please read the reviews. Poor rating because they feel it's a waste of time. Do you think you're going to get rich? Have realistic expectations and this app is great.

Don’t be fooled

Don’t be fooled, the exchange rate for in app coins to real XYO is insane and keeps going down. About 3 months ago roughly 20 in app coins where worth 1 token now you need 100 and it is still growing daily!

Another Cryto company sucking up your money

I've been mining non stop on my phone for most of 2 years. Early on when I withdrew my coin to xyo the exchange was 1 to 1. Yesterday I found d out that my 2.8 million coins ( which should have ad a value of $140,000.00 is only now converting for roughly 1 to 100 which essentially makes my account value less then $1,400.00 completely bogus

I’m a DevOps Engineer: XYO is a Scam

Let me be clear: I made $2000 off this “project” but it is indeed a scam

I have been following this since basically the beginning. I mined using an old phone off and on, and made what at the time would be about $50 worth. Within about 4 months the coin had gone way, way up and I immediately sold. It’s dipped back and forth since.

My issue: I am a DevOps Engineer. I live and breathe Linux, technical documentation, application installation and code quite a lot.
I COULD NOT implement a single thing one of their SDKs
There’s a note on their website that still says “Next Release Q1 2020”
Their GitHub is dead. 2 years since last release.
I believe people like me would be the backbone of the network, we know the technical details and are capable of expanding it. But we aren’t the target, the target is gamifying the app, adding subscription services (that never pay off) and selling more and more ad space in the app.

And perhaps the biggest issue: their Core Features were supposed to be based on Bluetooth LE, and having location authentication happen when two bluetooth devices handshake and log that to be later uploaded as a proof of contact.
Yet
They no longer sell Bluetooth sentinels, but NFC cards which cannot passively handshake with other devices. Worse still, not a single answer on how this changes the project, or what the new cards add to the “network”

I believe the original “sentinels” were a failed Tile competitor, and they found a way to implement them into their game. In fact, when you got the old bluetooth sentinels you had to update them for it to work with the app. Then they sold out of them, so they found the cheapest thing (NFC Cards) and starter selling those for another ridiculous markup.
This is all speculation, but pretty well supported speculation.

XYO is a scam and not worth your time or money.
