Millions of computers (and people’s hard-earned money) are thrown out every year, usually due to simple problems that can be easily fixed. Mark couldn’t stand the thought of that and wanted to do something about it. Using his background in technology, Mark set off with his son Adam on a mission to come up with a way to help people get more life out of their outdated or broken computers. What they came up with is Xtra-PC. The team created Xtra-PC as an affordable and effective way to have an extra PC. Xtra-PC transforms old, unsupported PCs and laptops, allowing unused or compromised computers to be used again. We are committed to making old computers useful again and avoiding the unnecessary throwing away of hardware. Our location on the Colorado prairie defines our values of hard work, simplicity, sustainability, and the entrepreneurial spirit.

I got scammed into buying this . I just wanted to see what it was. Turns out that this is Linux. No very good Linux. But it does work. But don't waist your time or money, I have a CD from Amazon with everything on it to make Linux mint 19.1 os . It only cost me $9.00 with taxes and shipping.
I was caught by YouTube promoting the products ad. I was curious about it. I decided to click the arrow to see what further information I would get. Up comes a chat box asked about desktop as well and wanted their contact details they said credit card, PayPal. I refuse to do business without knowing where they are. I decided to then search the net for a proper website set up, nothing. Then set about seeing what the net says about the extra PC stick then read the reviews here. I saw all the comments it made my mind see no way buy it, the software programmers who wrote, stated puppy Linus cheers saved me making a mistake being scammed. Thanks people.
If you know someone with a working pc then get them to google for Puppy Linux ( or any other Linux flavour) and follow the instructions on the official site. All you need is a blank usb stick and you can get the whole operating system on it just like this.....at no cost! And with all the online help you could ever need. Puppy is best cos it’s so small but just go for it!
Got suckered into this piece of crap, but I did connect to the internet, it had Firefox on it, downloaded Chrome but it never showed,, its buggy But if your hard drive crashes one day you can use this until you pick up a new PC
Beware. Bought two over a year ago but just now got around to installing it. I put it on an old ACER Aspire 3050 two laptops ago. You boot off the USB stick and go through a bunch of license acceptances for all the other software they want to put on the desktop. What you get is a new desktop - a clean slate. I could not find a way to access anything (files, programs, emails, etc.). It scared me a little as I thought that I lost everything but when I powered down and removed the stick and powered back up it was back on WIndows - whew. I should have read these reviews first before wasting my time. I realize my money is lost. What a ripoff. I am embarrassed that I fell for this. Save your money or get Linux for free.
As President Abraham Lincoln once said, "Don't believe everything you read on the Internet."
If it sounds too good to be true, you are engaging in wishful thinking if you believe it.
Stay away from this ruse.
I had a slow computer
Got Xtra-PC plugged in, all installed then I tried to set about reestablishing all my go-to sites and passwords etc.
Then I discovered that @ had to be entered on the " key and a few other transpositioned keys. Panic ensued!!!!
Dumped out and switched off restarted and happy to be able to use windows
I could not have written this otherwise.
How do I get my money back or how do we dump this predator
James
its rubbish spent 4 hrs waiting for it to start up the 5 lights just keep re starting on the log go screen 25yrs using computers ,you can download Linux for free install on a usb stick for yourself
its a scam don't waste your money

I can't find any problems with Xtra-PC, I bought a new Acer laptop in April 2019 due to the collapse of my old Dell Inspiron15, which was bought in March 2014, the HDD had packed in, also the battery was not in the best of conditions, later in the year around July I came across an advert about this crazed simple usb, that will rejuvenate into one's dead computer, at first a little bit dubious when trying to connect for the very first time, I was up in arms "total useless" until a later try out, one has to read carefully to the instructions on the screen, which I'm no expert in computers, I missed out on this simple click in the right place, when suddenly a WOOOOOOOOW! factor kicked in and more so no hard drive which I had been taken out of the Dell, and even now this text review is being written on my old Dell via the Xtra-PC usb, the only problem with my Dell at the moment, it has to rely on the mains power, until a new one to be purchased in the new year.
I just wanted to thank everyone for their honest reviews for this - I was incredibly tempted by it - however no way would I waste my disabled payment on it! - Many of you commented that the advertisers should be ashamed - YOU ARE CORRECT. THANK YOU SO MUCH :-))
Thanks to everyone who posted their reviews on this product. I was almost ready to buy it after reading through their website. I won't even consider buying it now that I have read all of your bad reviews on the product. Thanks, you just saved me $35 and a lot of misery!
I hope that people will somehow read these reviews and not order from this company. If you still have your piece of ,CRAP, peel the small label that has their name on it off and be surprised people. I did and the name SanDisk is printed there. With that being said, I believe this company has broken about three Federal Laws. The first is re-labeling a product to try to make the public believe it is your own, the second is selling the product for more than the original cost--this practice is used sometimes in Money Laundering, and the third is using the United States Postal Service to move a product that they know is not their original Patented Product--( which I doubt is Patented in the first place )--not only within the United States of America but worldwide.
Yes I was so excited waiting for this to come and fix my old and slow PC to say that I was disappointed is a big understatement this did not work at all not one bit it’s a joke don’t waste your money on it
Product does not work as advertised. No contact phone to call and email address is worthless. Yahoo should be ashamed to advertise these crooks. No not buy and call your credit card company at once to issue a stop payment.
This product does not work. Don't wast your money or time. Their return policy says it all. They know it won't work and will only take it back unopened.
I ordered a The Photostick from The Photostick website and when the photostick didn't connect to my phone I contacted tech support through the website. I received another photostick from Xtra PC which didn't work either. You cannot contact either company other than live chat which when I tried it froze my computer....I had to restart it. I believe that both Xtra PC and The Photostick are scams. They say 100% guarantee but it isn't true. I have returned the photostick to the PO box as instructed but I don't expect much. I have disputed the charge with my credit card company. RE-Think any decision you have about purchasing from either The PhotoStick or Xtra PC.
BEWARE
If you are an internet programmer you are fine with this if not forget it don't buy.
Forget the 30 day guarantee it does not apply only if defective.
The help Chat line for me was not in operation when I tried to get help. You cannot speak to anyone. For me a waste of money
Biggest scam ever!
Not even worth giving a star clever way of getting money out of people not refunding shipping only refunding what ls been paid for the product. Live chat robots are very cheeky aswell avoid at all costs
