The staff were very helpful and polite. The room was extremely comfortable even in a heatwave! We had breakfast and dinner in Drift Inn and was very generous servings and young polite staff.

Great venue clean and tidy staff really friendly and helpful we all had a great time
Enjoyable golfing reunion weekend.
Booked for a golfing reunion weekend.
We were then apprehensive having read the Trustpilot reviews after having already committed but we cracked on with low expectations.
But we feel compelled to post our experience as it could not have been further from the other experiences posted.
Reception at Golf clubhouse, hotel reception and bar were all first class and very welcoming.
Golf experience very good for the modest cost.
Food included in the deal was fresh and very good.
Would certainly recommend the weekend golf package that we all thoroughly enjoyed.
This hotel The drift is simply awful and is not a Spa Hotel
The price is extortionate for a Travelodge type hotel The hotel stinks of some perfume and most people said it was disgustingly awful
This hotel is dreadful and misrepresent everything on it it is nothing more than a Travelodge on a lake Please avoid
There is no Spa unless you book on line. Bit even if you try there will be nothing available. They do not tell you this, and then when you get there it’s full of the staff friends it appears so you cannot get in during your stay. indeed people who did not book were let in even after we were told it was full.
They have a Gym - No they do not They have a pool -no they do not
What they have is use of a facility 200 yard away with no towels and if it is raining no covered walkway But you can not use the pool at most times because they have swimming lessons so you cannot only use the Gym
But no towels and how do you get back to the hotel
The staff are rude and the Spa staff are simply not interested in the issues
If you want to waste your money this is the place to book.
Read the reviews. I wish I had. They rely on golf days and big parties not a hotel for a break. Truly awful
Go somewhere else! Anywhere else
[Update] Since speaking with the resort/hotel they have made it very clear that they support Carol Brice in abusing her position of authority, including threatening members of staff with their jobs all for knowing me. Its good to see the resort/hotel supporting a domestic abuser and of course stepping on the necks of the staff beneath them.
[Original post]The site itself very pretty. However I have seen/been involved with more senior staff abusing their position to further benefit their own personal agenda. Including threats of breaking GDPR.
Awful place Lake is pretty for what is visible without going through the hotels etc..
While driving back thought I would pop in for a break.. well that was a mistake, this area is very synthetic and not visitor friendly unless you are staying at one of the buildings, the lakes or lake is not easy to get to and couldnt find if it was possible to walk around no signs to advise visitors what and where to go around the natural area unless you are heading for one of the buildings, (Willen lakes are far more user friendly, accessible and has clear signage) it is a very manufactured area and unfortunately not impressive at all if you want to walk around the area, if you are looking to enjoy nature forget this place it is like an industrial estate.
Disappointing Anniversary Stay – Not What We Expected
My husband and I stayed at Wyboston Lakes from 1st to 2nd July for our anniversary, and unfortunately, it was a let-down from start to finish.
While we were welcomed kindly by the lady who showed us into the spa, the experience quickly declined after that. The receptionist came across as cold and unapproachable. We found ourselves having to go out of our way to draw out even basic politeness. It wasn’t the warm welcome you expect when booking a suite for a special occasion.
In the room, the TV remote didn’t work. There was no telephone, so we had to search online for the hotel number and call from our mobile. When the staff member came to the room, the first thing she said was, “What seems to be the problem here?” We had already explained the issue over the phone. It turned out the batteries were dead, and she replaced them, but the whole interaction felt lacking in care.
There was only one small pack of biscuits in the suite. When we asked about it, we were told, “Yes, and we’re even trying to phase that out.” That response summed up the general attitude we experienced. It felt impersonal and dismissive. Even though we had informed the hotel it was our anniversary, the only gesture was a plain card with “Happy Anniversary” on it. No personal touches. No extra effort. The fridge had nothing in it except two small boxes of water.
To top it all off, at 10:30 in the morning on the day of checkout (which is at 11am), a cleaner knocked on the door and said she was there to clean the room. I had to ask what time it was and remind her of the checkout time. It was disruptive and unnecessary.
We left feeling disappointed and frustrated. The whole experience lacked the hospitality and attention to detail we were expecting. We chose Wyboston Lakes for a relaxing, celebratory stay and sadly did not receive anything close to that.
Dreadful.......
Dreadful.......
Beware the contract....they say "one month's notice of you leave but it isn't.... You get charged for a whole extra month plus whatever you have paid in advance ...
If you like using a steam room, don't bother...it is broken more often than it works, and the "hot tub" should actually be called " "Luke warm tub"...
Final straw for me was my shoes being stolen from the changing room, as there are quite literally two or three of the ancient lockers that have keys....
All this was ignored and I have to pay 7 weeks notice ...
AVOID!

Advertised beds as super king when in fact it is a double bed.
very calming
The spa is a very nice set up ! had a great time there with my partner left feeling great !
Really disappointed by the service
Really disappointed by the service, we booked for my partners engagement present. I booked on the weekend and there were no staff, the chat bot didn’t work and no one picked up any calls. It just kept cutting off.
I tried to cancel as the spa closed at 5 pm, which we were unaware of, sent an email and no reply, then Monday I had a reply which made no sense. We called to explain what had happened, and we were looking to pay more and book for more nights with treatments. And we were told nope we won’t consider your cancellation due to the way you booked it. Honestly total let down and they lost us coming in the future with our friends. Would never book again. And I warn people to be careful when booking, they are happy to take your money but terrible customer service
Basic accommodation, run down and overpriced
I'll start with the good - there was plenty of parking and the bed was comfortable!
As for the rest of the Willows, the building is old, the inside is tired, run down and in need of complete refurbishment - as a bare minimum, the whole place needs a really good clean. The rooms and bathrooms are basic and at best functional. The carpets in the corridors are rucked up and serious trip hazards; the fire doors have holes in them where handles have been changed (what sort of fire door is that?). You get the gist...
They are understaffed - we had to wander around the building trying to find someone to serve us at the bar on our first night. On the second night, there were just 2 young and inexperienced staff behind the bar despite there being a function for over 100 people. The wait was ridiculous, the staff didn't know their red wines from their white, and the drinks were overpriced - £1.70 for a dash of blackcurrant, £6.50 for a pint of beer!
As for security, it's a joke. On returning to our room one evening we found that the cleaner had opened the window and left it wide open all day - and I mean WIDE open. Bearing in mind the room was on the ground floor, anyone could have climbed in and helped themselves to our belongings.
The whole experience is one I would not choose to repeat. I have just tried to fill in the customer experience questionnaire, which Wyboston Lakes emailed a link for - but guess what... the link doesn't work! That sums up Wyboston Lakes and the Willows.
Totally none customer friendly
Stayed at this hotel the night before a wedding. Was overcharged for drinks – £58 for a bottle of wine and two spritzer's. That wasn't the problem – the problem was at 10.30 we were told the bar was closing and we had to move into the seated corridor in in order to finish our drinks. Not a great place for any sort of visitors – golf societies be aware!!! Dreadful – no interest in customers
Willow centre, PAPER CUPS, staff scrum, where is the customer experience ?
I stayed at the Willow Centre, the facility has been upgraded recently and was pleasant (thanks for booking me so far away from reception the long walk i'm sure did me some good - ridiculous!) however i was disappointed by the staff at breakfast. Please wait here to be seated - well nobody ever came but four staff were chatting behind the main food counter the entire time i was having my breakfast, i would say for some intimidating guests by their presence! PAPER CUPS ! yes really for almost £100 i get a paper cup to drink my instant machine coffee - what on earth are you thinking how utterly appalling - oh and if you want tea, here's some tea bags for you...actually no better than you get in your hotel room.
What exactly does the £15 for breakfast entitle us to, machine coffee?, really ? and yes this poor standard is what you get from the other areas too such as the waterfront. Make your mind up guys for guests paying circa £130 a night - machine coffee is not acceptable but i hand it you a good way to save money whilst your room charges increase by circa 20% - well done !
Good solid overnight stay
Good solid overnight stay. The room was very pleasant and the bed was very comfortable - quite a choice of pillows and cushions ! Tea and coffee int he room with very nice TV and updated bathroom
Checking in was a little bit bumpy as I only seem to have a single staff member but once in all good. Plenty of parking choice around the facility and the option to eat
Fantastic conference venue
We held a work event here with day time plenary and break out sessions, plus a dinner. The venue is fantastic. We were in the Woodlands event centre and it is a fantastic venue, spacious, beautifully presented, well equipped and the staff were so helpful.
