possible bias (intentional), as well as victimisation

quite unfortunately, my entire experience here seems to be negative.
Application submitted and paid for on the basis of 'Research and Teaching' and denied repeatedly twice on the basis of 'Traditional Study' which is not the correct route! Appeal stating this clearly was also ignored and not acknowledged properly.
They denied my application claiming that I had not even completed a PhD in Psychology, when my MA and PhD dissertation are both in the field of PSYCHOLOGY and even widely published, circulating actively through publishing outlets, contributing to my h-index of 6-8.
Portfolio: my PhD with high honours and dissertations in Theoretical Depth Psychology, MSc in clinical and general psychology, MA thesis work in contemplative psychology and treatments for anxiety and depression, as well as further publication and research output amounting to an 8 h-index, 25+ authored books, monographs, and research articles in their field.
The British Psychological Society unfortunately seems to be a complete sham, they practiced misrepresentation as a charity, as well as discrimination "skewed more" against gifted minorities with protected characteristics. :[ I am an academic researcher on a Talent visa with a full PhD, MA and MS in fields of psychology, as well as a full post-doc, all recognised by the eNIC statement I paid an extra £68.70 for unprompted along with the £50 application fee. Applied in August paying the full £50 fee after already having paid £98 for their Graduate membership, and they wrongly denied my application for Chartered status in October on the basis of 'Traditional Study' I didn't even apply or pay for, when I applied under 'Research and Teaching'.
Their admin named 'Rachel Skudamore' is the most dismissive and rude, haughty woman I've ever met,
She claimed that she wanted more evidence of research, of which I sent 9-10 emails with screenshots, attachments, and free copies of articles. It's clear that they somehow benefited from the free material and offered me absolutely nothing in return.
I had also been informed by their assistant Alex Minshall and he stated that the reviewers or 'assessors' for my application had not even read or considered the full 187 pages of my thesis. Nor the full 202 pages of the full written monograph. Their 'Unconcerned' Concerns department left me hanging with dismissive avoidance and no answer for over 5 weeks after the appeal, and when I finally escalated this complaint to their president, as well as their board, they responded again with misrepresentation, claiming again, the basis of Traditional Study, which I did not apply or pay for. My output and research, as well as teaching is in Theoretical and Archetypical, Depth Psychology, Developmental, and Philosophical Psychology, as well as even theoretical physics, neuroscience, CBT research and patient treatments, and cognitive science. They had only denied me because I'm a multiethnic doctor with a foreign traveller last name and noble ancestry, which doesn't actually fit their standard profile of a typical white, practitioner, I think. Maybe I will escalate to obtain full refunds of the £68.89 ENIC fee I paid confirming that all 4 of my graduate degrees are real, as well as the £50 charity fee.

Great Organisation

I have had a fantastic experience with the British Psychological Society. They have been incredibly responsive and professional in all interactions, demonstrating a genuine commitment to supporting their members. I am proud to be a member of such a reputable organisation that values excellence and professionalism in the field of psychology. I highly recommend the BPS to anyone looking to deepen their engagement and stay connected within the psychological community.

As a BPS member I needed information…

As a BPS member I needed information about renewing DBS (which they had organised in the past). Did not respond to my email. Couldn’t get through on the phone. Appalling service. I would guess working at home might be one underlying issues at BPS? Who knows. Regardless, the BPS seems a bit broken, like so many other services post covid.

a cautionary tale

If you ever have the misfortune to make a complaint against a BPS psychologist for misconduct or breaching BPS 'ethics' then brace yourself for a hard time. My experience of the BPS was possibly as traumatic as anything you might want to take to a psychologist for treatment. The complaints process was emotionally horrendous and my overall conclusion was that it was a kangaroo court set up to appear just, but clearly biased towards the BPS member psychologist (who sexually harassed me). The panel of three 'judges' were a disgrace (old duffers, one of whom couldn't even hear properly) with the tone of foregone conclusion in every sentence they uttered.

As a mental health professional I would caution anyone - patient, student or professional - against having anything to do with the British Psychological Society. In my direct personal experience there is something deeply wrong with this organisation.
