Big Fans of Zenefits

We have been a Zenefits customer for over 7 years now. When we started using Zenefits in 2014, we leveraged Zenefits as our primary HRIS system to send offer letters, onboard new employees, track time off, select benefits, and integrate with our payroll provider, QuickBooks Online Payroll.

As Zenefits launched its Zenefits Payroll product, we transitioned from QuickBooks Online Payroll to Zenefits at the beginning of 2020 to provide our employees with one powerful app to view their paystubs, request time off, view their benefits information, manage their pre-tax spending accounts, and look up contact information of their fellow team members. By having everything in one place for our employees in Zenefits (both online and in the mobile app), we were able to dramatically reduce the amount of questions from our employees and in turn improve our employee experience.

We’ve relied heavily on Zenefits to scale our business by helping us to be more effective and efficient in engaging and interacting with our employees. Since I joined Boomtown, we have increased our headcount by 5x – and thanks to Zenefits, we haven’t had to add any People Ops headcount to manage that growth.

I would highly recommend Zenefits to others, especially fast-growing businesses who are looking to efficiently scaling their People Operations function while also providing an exceptional experience to your employees and contractors.

I trust Zenefits completely

I trust Zenefits completely! I've been with Zenefits for a few years now and I feel like we've grown our businesses together. I use them for Onboarding New Hires, HR and Payroll. As a small business owner, I'm always tempted to just jump in and do things myself which inevitably leads to some sort of mess. Every time I've reached out to Customer Service, they've been able to get it resolved.

It might take awhile to get to an actual person, but that's because their support database is SO expansive, you can pretty much find anything you need, and then some. Once I had a representative on the line, they stayed with me until the entire situation was resolved. I never felt rushed off the phone or pushed aside.

Zenefits is a great investment for small businesses.

Smooth transition and intuitive interface

Transitioning away from a larger payroll company, Zenefits made the transition smooth and very personalized to the needs of my small nonprofit. Their interface is intuitive and their support is fairly responsive!

We love Zenefits! They make running payroll so fast and easy and they have a beautiful user interface. We originally thought we'd use them just for payroll, but their time and attendance and performance tracking have also been great tools for us as a small business

We use Zenefits for all of our HR records. It helps us streamline and reduce paperwork, while making things accessible across all our stores. We have over fifty employees and eleven stores and Zenefits keeps us organized

Great people management platform!

I love using the Zenefits app because it's so easy to use! It makes recording time, requesting time off, and managing employee personnel files very straightforward.

The only recommendation for improvement that I have is to update the Zenefits Time & Attendance app. It may simply be a personal preference, but I definitely enjoyed using the old Time & Attendance user experience more.

We're new here but we love it

We've been with Zenefits maybe 4 months or so at this point. I honestly can't imagine doing HR without them now. Their HR library is the best thing I never knew we needed. They have a really awesome system for onboarding as well (Thanks Sean and Amber!). We're glad we switched and we can't wait to continue getting better with Zenefits.

Zenefits is a great payroll service

Zenefits is a great payroll service. The system is very user friendly and they are always very helpful with any issues that I have. I deducted 1 start due to the few times that we were processing payroll when we were on self-serve due to Zenefits being closed and/or the employees being unavailable. Payroll still went smoothly but it made me a bit nervous.

Recommend for small orgs

My small nonprofit org uses Zenefits and we've had great results. We've been able to automate our onboarding, benefits administration, 401k administration, and time off tracking. It's saved us a ton of time and effort.

The service is horrrrrrrrible!

1 star because the platform is good.

Don't trust those 5 star reviews. Those 5 star reviews are definitely fake or they paid someone to leave those reviews.. Look at the dates. They're all spread out within a few days and zero 5 star reviews in 20201.

Service is horrible. To get any help you have to go through their service tree that wants to play 20 questions first. If you try to call them expect to be on hold for 30-60mins at least. If you send them an email make sure you give them 5-7 days at least to reply. If you upload a document to them expect frustration. They will reject your CAA_ARPA_2021_Amendment doc by emailing you from a no reply email. Sign up for Zenefits if you want to make your job more difficult and want additional headaches.

Zenefits sucks

Zenefits sucks. They asked me to upload an itemized receipt for a payment made over 3 months ago. I changed jobs so don't even have access to my account! Will the 'customer service' agent was terrible. He kept telling me I had to locate this and snail mail it in. Had no answer as to why I was being asked of this now. Refused to escalate the call despite asking kindly multiple times. Needless to say, I lost my cool. I work with TriNet now and they are much easier to work with. They have a chat feature and answer right away. Zenefits has you wait on hold then then actual employees are rude!

Customer Service? [Crickets]

I was very happy with Zenefits... until I needed something. If you're a small company looking to implement your new HR system, and your budget is tight so you can't afford a larger platform, Zenefits is NOT FOR YOU, I suggest you wait until you can pay for a more reliable partner.

Everything will be fine until inevitably, an issue arises and you need customer support. Then, you'll pay the price for being a small business. We small businesses have small teams wearing many hats, and therefore we need great partners. Partners that are going to take us by the hand and respond promptly with solutions. Do not expect a fast response from customer service. Do not expect your response to be good once you receive it weeks or months later. All the contrary, they've just made it harder for you to contact customer service in the first place.

I still have tickets open from last January or February and I've got 2 "responses", both saying that my tickets were assigned to a specialist and that they'll be contacting me. Never happened. Too bad I had just renewed for another year.

The system in general will do the minimum but the features are too basic, and the reporting is horrible. The integration with QuickBooks unusable for real mapping and labor/project expense tracking. Not a good format for data manipulation.

Again, if you need help, look elsewhere.
