Paid them to come and try to sell me more services

I had called 6 different electricians and you and one other were the only ones to call me back. The one I didn’t hire wasn’t licensed for multi-unit buildings, he told me that up front and I appreciated his honesty. You required to be paid before you even showed up to show your value, is a business model that I completely disagree with. Your statement was, “we are committing to sending 3 people out so we want a commitment from you”. You were my only choice, and, had I had another I would have never hired you. I was only here for two weeks and had many contractors scheduled to do work and wanted the electrical systems in our house checked. Dan was condescending on the phone, telling me I’m “putting the icing on the cake first” because the painters were already scheduled, that the electrical should come first because you may need to tear out drywall and then I would need to have them patched them up, totally out of the realm I was looking for. You never really bothered to ask what I was doing, why I was doing it in the order I was. Perhaps you should ask more questions before making uninformed statements.

Three of you showed up for the appointment. I feel like I paid $1250 to be sold to, one person to do the work and the other two were here to sell me electrical services I didn’t need. And for that amount of money I would have at least expected a written report stating what was checked and the condition of each item, good, bad or ugly, with recommendations. Maybe that’s a liability for you to actually document what was or wasn’t examined. On the phone I was told you would correct anything and do any work that didn’t require equipment to be purchased. You told me the person doing my tear out could remove the security system, that would be me! You knew I wanted that done, I should have asked you to do it, so shame on me. It did not require any additional purchased components to be removed. Bobby did all the testing while Dan and Howard used rudimentary, old school, emotional scare tactics to convince me I needed things that were not necessary. I recognized every one of your sales pitches as I’ve had more sales training than anyone person should. And Howard, no one cares how many degrees you have, all we wanted was an honest electrician, not a plumber or a heat pump installer which we had already hired. And you should not be making negative comments about your competitors. Telling me I needed 6 -7 wired smoke/carbon detectors to bring the house up to code is incorrect and you must be aware of that. The house is at code for the time it was built. And $6000--$7000 for a new electric panel is insane. I am still waiting for the quote Dan was going to send me. By the way, my heat pumps are installed, running beautifully and I didn’t even need a sub-panel. With your current business model I can see why you were the only company to call me back and available with short notice. I understand you want the big expensive jobs, it’s like being a luxury real estate agent, which by the way I am, but I work in all price ranges as those small sales ultimately turn into really big ones. I would think your business is a relationship business like real estate. I hope you find your ideal customers with deep pockets, that is just not us.

Anyone considering this company should also Google HomeWiz Belmont MA, same people with similar reviews to this one.

AVOID THIS COMPANY!

11/8/25 Edit to the reply: Howard, if you had sent me the report and receipt in February 2024 after I requested it multiple time you may not have receive a 1 star review. Then in retaliation to an honest review you posted two negative bogus reviews on my profile on real estate platforms. And then filed a complaint against me with the town for code violations (which didn't exist).

Hi Donna,

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We’re genuinely sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations, and we appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns.

Our scheduling and prepayment policy is in place to ensure that our licensed electricians—often a multi-person team—are fully committed to your appointment. We understand this may not align with everyone’s preferences, but it allows us to prioritize confirmed appointments and maintain reliable service.

We apologize if any of our communication came across as condescending or sales-oriented. Our intent is always to educate homeowners about safety issues, code requirements, and possible upgrades, not to pressure or upsell. We’ll be reviewing this feedback internally to ensure our approach remains focused on clarity, professionalism, and respect for every customer’s project priorities.

Regarding your request for documentation: please contact our office directly at 844-746-4949 so we can promptly provide your paid invoice and inspection summary. We’d be happy to clarify what was tested, reviewed, and recommended during your appointment.
