I was told that Yew Tree kitchens could match a kitchen we had priced up with DIY.
We weren’t ready to start the kitchen but the owner said if we paid a deposit it would secure the sale price.
Time past and sadly my husband became ill and unable to work.
I asked the owner if we could have the deposit returned. We had signed no papers, made no measurements and yew tree had not started any manufacturing. We were not ever expecting to be in this unfortunate position . The owner refused . Said it was not refundable. I have argued he has not started manufacturing and has never been given measurements. We have not agreed anything at all. The owner seems to think he’s put aside time and put people off for my order. Well that would have meant putting off a hell of a lot of people as I have told you all along I’m not ready and haven’t been able to take measurements as no work has been done on the kitchen . The kitchen requires a lot of work before i will be in a position to proceed

Had a kitchen installed by Yew Tree and I cannot recommend enough! Such a beautiful kitchen and its solid wood finish looks amazing.
The whole process and communication throughout the process was so smooth, from the consultation to the end. Would highly recommend if your looking for a high quality kitchen!
I have been waiting for years to have a beautiful new kitchen and Yew Tree just installed the kitchen of my dreams.
I could not be more happy with the service and quality of the units.
Would highly recommend Yew Tree to anyone looking for a quality handmade kitchen.
I recently have bought a kitchen from Yew Tree Designs. I was extremely impressed with the whole process from the initial contact to the final product.
The communication throughout was impeccable , workmanship , design and fitting. I am extremely impressed and would highly recommend for customers looking for a high quality kitchen.

We bought a kitchen from Yewtree last year.
The sales process was very smooth. We already had a good idea of the design we wanted and handed over a plan from a well known kitchen company which Yewtree revised.
The rest of the planning process was ok.
Manufacturing was fine and we are happy with the construction of the units. They delivered them on time.
Then it all went downhill from there. Yewtree encouraged us to use their subcontracted fitters because they said they were highly experienced in fitting solid wood kitchens and would cut the bases and fit everything correctly.
Unfortunately the work the fitter did was not to the standard Yewtree originally sold to us.
A few issues we had:
- Many units initially unsupported at the bases. Yewtree said the units would be cut down and supported which didn't happen and they weren't packed either - just lent against the wall. The island was propped in one corner by some sawdust / crumbs and had poor structural integrity.
- Many units initially not horizontally or vertically level. My general builders installed the ceiling perfectly level. The fitter installed the units wonky.
- Poor communication. The fitter originally told me he was being paid for 2 days to complete the job and couldn't spend longer. I challenged this with Yewtree and gave them the list of issues. Yewtree agreed that the fitter should return but didn't brief them on the issues. One day the fitter turned up on site and had to leave after an hour because they thought they were just coming to touch up. They weren't made aware of the issues and it eventually took them another full day to resolve.
I wasn't concerned how long the work took (the work was part of a 6 month extension and renovation) - I just wanted the kitchen fitted properly.
The issues were eventually made good. But it was extremely hard work for us and very stressful back and forth. I had to do all the checks and communicate everything myself - the fitter didn't notice even basic issues. I know this because of the day he said he thought he was just coming to finish touchups when in fact there was a long list of issues.
Yewtree didn't show any concern, which was frustrating. I recommend they come and review the work of their fitter as the fitting wasn't what Yewtree sold to us. They didn't want to and left it to the fitter and me to resolve. I recommend Yewtree are more hands on at this stage and don't leave it to their subcontractor and client. My contract was with Yewtree. But Yewtree can't have known the standard of fitting.
When I raised the issues I also asked if another fitter could come and finish the job as I wasn't happy with the standard. I was told at the time this is the only fitter they had.
The mistake I made was paying everything up front. I wish I'd read other reviews first as it gave me no leverage. In hindsight I'd have been happy to pay for the manufacture up front but not the fitting until the end. This would be more standard practice and I highly recommend others do this if you go with Yewtree fitting.
I never received a follow up from Yewtree after the fitters final visit.
In the end the kitchen looks fine. It remains to be seen how long it will last due to the poor initial fitting and making good. Six months on a couple of bits have fallen off already and some things are still not right.
Overall a bit of a shame.

Very good experience with Yew Tree, Simon designed a kitchen with the large island that we always wanted that looks and works fantastically well. Our family and friends love it too when we socialise together in our new hub of the home. We agonised over the paint Colours but helpfully we didn’t need to decide on the definitive colour choice until just before the final zoom design so this gave us more time to pick up many more Little Green paint samples to try!
We had to delay fitting due to builder issues but despite this setback the install date was adjusted and the fitters did a brilliant job. Definitely recommended.

Excellent design service, wonderful, beautifully-made kitchen. Very professionally installed. Couldn’t recommend highly enough!
Absolute fantastic service from start to finish. Used Yewtree after my initial kitchen designer, leading name, let me down.Excellent customer service and product. Should of used them from the outset. Highly recommended.
The process of purchasing our kitchen was very straight forward, we booked their zoom design service and received our quote the very next day! We then booked a showroom visit to look at the quality of their kitchens before deciding to purchase
I must say, we were extremely impressed with the quality and ordered almost straight away. Mike their fitter was very professional and completed our kitchen installation to a very high standard,
Well done to the Yew Tree Team!
Absolutely perfect....
Absolutely loved our experience with Yew Tree and now have a beautiful kitchen the whole family love to spend time in. The zoom meetings were an amazing experience as we could see our kitchen being designed in front of us in the luxury of our own home. The fitting was on time and stress free and and the fitter made a great job of the installation. All round highly recommend.
We were attracted to this company because they build their kitchens in England, and we like to support British manufacturing.
I was very confident after a visit to their showroom, and the quote I received was considerably lower than all of our other quotes.
I have to say the quality of our kitchen is superb, and the customer service we received was excellent.
I would be happy to recommend them to anyone.

1. Price discrepancy: The final price we paid was nearly 20% more than the initial quote/estimate (whatever the way you call it). This is basically unacceptable. My initial kitchen design is very detailed and it remained 95% same as the final executed design. The owner just refused to provide me with detailed breakdown. Without a detailed breakdown, customer has no visibility on the increase of the price. The owner kept saying I changed my kitchen design. I agree we made a few changes. But when I asked him, if we now go with the original design, will the price remain the same as the estimate. The owner said NO because estimate is an estimate and it can’t be relied on as the final quote. I believe price certainty is one of the most important criteria when selecting service provider. If an initial estimate can't be relied on, I do not know why we need an estimate?
Poor attitude: When the price discrepancy issue arose, the owner basically asked me to find another kitchen supplier to do my kitchen. I was basically shocked upon hearing this. Who said this to a client nowadays? At the time, we have a project running, any delay in any work stream will cause bigger delay in the project overall. It is so easy for Yew Tree to say go and find another supplier but it is impossible to find a backup in a short period of time. Again, I do not believe this is the right attitude when talking to a client.
Inadequate communication:
3a. Furniture legs: 3D shows recessed leg, however order says solid wood leg. I relied more on the 3D picture since I am not a kitchen specialist (so as majority of the customers) so I do not have all the vocabulary to describe a kitchen feature. However, during the design consultation, I was never shown other leg options. If I was shown, I would not go with solid legs since they cost more, and they are not as neat and clean as recessed legs
3b. Mullion in double door units: I have 5 units that got the double door opening. They all have a bar in the middle, obstructing the vision and the reach when opens. When I opened the larder, there is a mullion in the middle. I was basically shocked because I have never seen a larder that does not have full opening. This left my stone provider no choice but to cut the worktop in half to fit into the larder. Again, these are features which did not get communicated to me at all. I can live with it but if I was given the choice or asked the preference, I would definitely go with no mullion unit for the convenience and appearance.
Payment: Asking for full payment before kitchen is delivered and installed is just not an industry standard. Within my project, besides Yew Tree kitchen I ordered, I also ordered all the carpentry unit for utility room, alcove unit, under the stair storage, study, wardrobes from other suppliers. No one has requested full payment before installation happened and finished to customer’s satisfaction. I was asked to keep at least 10% (some even up to 50%) of the total value of the order before the carpentry work is delivered. When I mentioned this to Yew Tree, they did not wish to make any compromise. Once the payment is gone, as a customer, we have no leverage if there is problems and we lose control. This has been proved by my experience during the installation. The installation team cancelled on me twice so the original installation date got slipped. I emailed Yew Tree but I heard NOTHING from him. I do not believe this is acceptable.
However, I have to be fair that even though my experience with Yew Tree has not been great. The furniture quality is good and it is in line with what's been displayed in their Showroom.

I bought my new kitchen from Yew Tree and it is beautiful, the fitters were excellent and done a first class job. I had had a bad experience with another company before, but Yew Tree were understanding and helpful throughout the whole process.
I now have my dream kitchen so I would not hesitate to recommend Yew Tree.
We did a lot of research before purchasing a kitchen from Yew Tree, I found this company to have the best prices and the quality was exactly what we was looking for. Some of the other companies we looked at came unpainted but after asking my painter how long it might take to paint a kitchen and the costs involved, it became apparent that it would be very expensive and inconvenient so decided against this option. We did not know exactly what we wanted design wise when we approached Yew Tree and were pleasantly surprised when they came up with a great design on our first meeting. I recommend you visit the guys at Yew Tree if you want a great quality kitchen.
Our kitchen was designed by Yew Tree. The design was innovative and made great use of the space available. The kitchen was a delivered in a timely manner and fitted to a high quality.
I was impressed by the professionalism of the team and would highly recommend them. Thank you.
Absolutely fabulous kitchen with excellent customer care. Highly recommended.
Initially we were happy with Yew Tree, but then experienced severe problems with the fitting of the worktop (collapse of improperly supported sink) which was eventually remedied. However, a wall cupboard fell off the wall in August, 2016, (fortunately before the worktops were installed), resulting in many hundreds of pounds worth of broken china, glass, crystal (most of the latter antique and irreplaceable). Photographs were taken, and the understanding was that the fitter's Public Liability Insurance would take care of the subsequent claim. The cupboard was repaired and rehung. Our last communication from the fitter (a sub-contractor, but supplied by Yew Tree) was in February, 2017, stating that the claim was in progress. Since then: nothing. Yew Tree ignore all attempts to contact them. Note: we fully complied with our part of the contract, making prompt and complete payments.

We are delighted with our new kitchen, it feels like we have a new house now. We’ve had complements from every visitor. The quality of the units is brilliant and has exceeded expectations. Yew Tree were very helpful when designing the layout and kitchen specifications and the fitters were brilliant; really courteous and seemed to take great pride in their work. The end result really shows. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Yew Tree and I don’t think we could have got better in this price-range elsewhere.
The bulk of our kitchen was installed in November , however an incorrectly measured book shelf and broom cupboard resulted in a further visit the week before Christmas for installation of those items.
Since November we have been patiently waiting for delivery of a shelf missing from one of the cupboards. In addition the fascia in front of the dishwasher is just propped there and frequently falls over leaving the mechanics of the dishwasher on display. There is absolutely nothing to keep it in place.I have been told almost weekly by Simon via email and more recently by telephone that the shelf is on its way , it's been sent and yes we will sort this for you. I have not paid a significant sum of money to have a kitchen that is not finished nor to be fobbed off that things like this happen.
We have been exceptionally patient but now in the second week of February this has gone past being acceptable. The response we have received is very very poor and based on this I would not recommend this company.
