Moved from OBS Studio to XSplit

Moved from OBS Studio to XSplit

I was originally an OBS user but when it started having major problems suddenly with frame drops where it used to run beautifully I tried X-Split out and it ran perfectly - bought a lifetime license and have been using it ever since. I have needed to use their support a couple of times for advice and to report an issue which was quickly fixed and have been very impressed with that too.

In addition to my gaming stream I also do a stream that involves a larger number of webcams and where OBS used to have a lot of problems getting going again, X-Split just seems to "just work" which is a breath of fresh air.

Only downside is that I needed to switch to NVENC encoding for my gaming streams because the CPU usage for H.264 is significantly higher than OBS had and was causing frame drops and performance issues. However, this does not seem to have caused any noticeable drop in stream quality and my viewers are certainly very happy with the output. Using NVENC cpu and gpu usage are very reasonably on my ageing i7-4790 CPU streaming machine.

Overall super impressed with X-Split and delighted to continue being a user and recommending it to all.

I give Xsplit 4.5 stars

I give Xsplit 5 stars, but I wanted to give it 4.5 there just wasnt an option. The thing is, while it is an amazing program, and it saved me when OBS studio completely stopped working on my PC, my main issue is that we pay for this program and should have little to NO issues running it. I have had a lot of issues mostly which I have just learned to deal with tried to seek out help but wasn't able to fix them. So theres a pretty bad lag between my stream deck and xsplit, same for the el gato capture card. It uses a LOT of CPU and GPU compared to other softwares. There is also a glitch that I have had for over 1 year now where if I put transitions on any of the sources in my scenes it cuts off the SCENE transition. Everytime I restart the program it turns off my stinger transition as well.

Dont get me wrong. The program is 100% worth the money I just feel like these are easily fixable issues that should not be there if we're paying for this program. The main reason I have yet to apply for partnership with them is because OBS is free and uses way less CPU GPU and if I get it working again I won't use Xsplit until I can upgrade my computer.

Optimal Performance

I originally used XSplit for dual streaming but had tried some competitors as well. I use the free version and am planning on getting the full version. The reason I returned was because it has less drops of frames than I experienced with one of the streaming platforms. The other worked well until my video card had updates. I tried to get help with the other but no one could get it to work like it had. Not updating my driver caused other issues and had no choice to accept the update. XSplit has the same customizable features as the others and they continue to improve.

Versatile, Easy to use

I honestly find it easier to use than other streaming apps just because it's very versatile. I'm not a professional by any stretch of the imagination but app is great to use.

You want to cancel your Premium Membership? They'll make it ruddy difficult for you!!!

I cancelled my "Premium Membership" several months ago, but have recently discovered that they have continued to charge me. My "Membership Status" when I log-in to xsplit.com says "Free Membership", and yet I am being charged for Premium. I log-in to my PayPal, and I find that they have not cancelled payments. I speak with customer services, and they tell me that I have to 1). go in to my Account and manually click "cancel automatic renewal" - an option which is NOT THERE - and 2). I have to cancel the pre-payment on PayPal, as well. So, I have to go through not one, not two, but *THREE PROCESSES* TO CANCEL PAYMENTS!!! Cancel my Premium Membership, then cancel the "automatic renewal", then cancel the "pre-approved payments" on PayPal. Absolutely f-ing ridiculous! I am quite angry, and I want my money back!!!

I'm sorry to hear about your issues with cancelling your membership! We absolutely always try to respond in a way that makes cancelling as easy as possible for our customers and usually get very positive feedback in this regard so again, I can only apologize in this instance.

What I would say is that if you were told that was the cancellation flow you were misinformed because our flow is very different from what you described. If you cancel on your XSplit account we automatically cancel any future payments with Paypal and therefore it's a simple 1 step process. If you have a support email or ticket number so we could look up your interactions with the staff member who miss informed you we'd be happy to look into this and provide a refund for any period where you cancelled but continued to be charged.

Update: I found your support ticket and spoke with our support team to ensure they understand the process re requests like this. I see that we refunded a payment in May but I've asked them to go ahead and refund an additional 2 payments since we identified you didn't use XSplit during those periods. I can only apologize again for this slipping through the cracks.

Awesome program for stream and awesome support!

XSplit is getting a total of 5 star. Not only because their broadcaster is easy to use, but their support is amazing.

I have used XSplit for 2 and a half years, some small issues now and then and the customer support staff does an amazing job helping me out with it and fixing the issues, feedback gets taken serious and their support staff takes care of their customers.

I have been training up few people on XSplit Broadcaster and XSplit have done a great job helping me with getting the material, taking care of me and the ones I train up.

They deserve these 5 stars I am giving.
Thank you for the time you dedicate to your customers and taking care of your customers.
