Buy in store only-the overseas online order customer service is awful. I ordered $850 worth of decor to stage a room in my home. One item was very damaged from being jammed into a tiny box and I cont... See more

The customer service was wonderful
The customer service was wonderful. Upon entering the store I’m always greeted with, Hello welcome to World Market.” Someone is always available to assist you.
Poor customer service
Package was delivered to the wrong address. Instead of filing a report with FedEx (which ONLY the shipper can do), they require me to take up public resources and file a stolen package report with police report in order to refund me. The package isn't stolen, it was misdelivered. They, as the shipper, have options to recoupe this loss with FedEx but choose to put the onus on the consumer.
SUPERB coffee and unique gifts
Love the coffee and unique gifts. The coffee is superb and reasonably priced. We have been buying their coffee for almost 20 years.
Last Purchase from Cost Plus World Market
I have been a Cost Plus WorldMarket ("CPWM") customer for years. The closest location to me is Daly City, CA. My preference is to shop in store; however, often times what I want is out of stock at that location, so I have my order shipped. In order to qualify for free shipping, you need to spend a minimum of $49. On 6/25/24, I placed order no. 11040512824 for a total of $55.17. Most of my orders are shipped by Federal Express. On 6/28/24, my order was delivered. None of the items I ordered were delivered. I received three placemats I did not order. I immediately called CPWM and opened case no. 79450928. I told the woman with whom I spoke that since I paid for my order I want the items contained in my order. I also indicated whoever packed my order made a mistake. The packing slip showed what I ordered. Despite this, none of the items were included. I also told the rep that if they were to make arrangements for Federal Express to pick up the placemats that I am more than happy to work with CPWM but because this is their mistake I will not drive to Federal Express. I also indicated that due to their mistake my order containing the items I ordered should be expedited or my order would be late.
For the next five days I heard nothing so I placed another call. Long story short, my order is being shipped piecemeal. By the time I receive the last item, three weeks will have elapsed since placing my order. Customer support is non-existent. As a repeat customer who frequently purchases from CPWM, this is a huge disappointment. I decided rather than go through the irritation and frustration of making yet a fifth call to ascertain when my order will be delivered, I will never again order from CPWM. I have given CPWM many opportunities to make the situation right. They do not want to accept responsibility. As an aside I hope they refund the customer that purchased the three placemats although I wouldn't hold my breath.
WORST Market should be their name
Their website, customer service and products are the WORST! I ordered an outdoor table that warped within 2 weeks of use. They told me it needed to be covered when not in use otherwise it will warp and chip. It's an outdoor table! and It was under cover!
Then, I ordered two chairs. The website said they were in stock. They charged me $400.00 plus oversized shipping when they shipped a smaller less expensive chair! When I called, they would not release my money back to me until they picked up the chair that their warehouse sent by mistake.
one week later, I had to call again to find out why my credit was not issued. They said they would not credit it until the merchandise was returned. Which is also funny, they said as soon as Fedex picked up the incorrect item, they would credit my account. They have been holding my money "hostage" for their mistakes. Warning - do not purchase from World Market!!
Why no washcloths?!
I love their products and style, but I don't understand why none of their bath towel lines offer a matching washcloth. They have bath towel and hand towel only. Makes no sense!
Don't ever get furniture delivered from WM
I will preface this by saying I really do enjoy the aesthetic of World Market and the prices are also generally very reasonable for what you get, so kudos to them for at least having some nice products.
That said, holy moley getting furniture shipped by World Market to my condo has proven to have been absolutely one of the most chaotic and mind-numbingly frustrating processes that I have ever had to while buying literally anything. I ordered a 2-piece sectional from them over a month ago on their website and got it shipped about 2 weeks later. The delivery ran through a service called Maersk and the scheduled delivery date changed about 3 separate times, which was insanely frustrating since I had to change all my plans around being at home waiting for them to show up. The delivery guys finally show up and deliver the sectional to my condo and I open it and it is two incompatible sectional pieces (one left-facing and another right facing), completely useless unless I wanted to just use them as two separate couches. How the did they mess that up, there are literally only two parts to the order and they didn't even get that right? Like its a $2k+ order and they completely dropped the ball. I call WM and they refer me to some sort of specialist who is supposed to handle returns. This all takes places via email and she only would respond like once a day AT BEST, leading to another like week of back and forth until we finally arrived at the conclusion that WM would get the delivery drivers to come back and that I would get like a 10% refund on top of a new sectional.
Anyway, 1 week later WM gets folks from Maersk to finally come back and pick up the mismatched sectionals. So I'm back to having a chair in front of my TV as my living room for another 2 weeks. Fast forward today, I finally get the call that my sectional should finally be in (once again, that delivery date changed a handful of times). I go down to meet the crew and its just one dude, which seemed odd since the last two times their have been two dudes. Turns out World Market didn't set up the delivery w/ white glove like they were supposed to (included in the $200 delivery fee) so the dude just shows up, takes two huge boxes w/ the sectional from the truck, and dumps them into my buildings lobby. "Sorry they didn't set you up w/ premium service, I can only drop it off here". So I get on the phone w/ WM once again since that obviously seemed like a mistake on their end, but when I called them they stated that they not be able to send someone to actually to deliver the sectional to my unit AND that they would NOT BE REFUNDING the delivery fee. This sectional was taking up about like 40% of my buildings small lobby so I don't think I could leave it there w/out my HOA getting pissed off so I asked if they would be able to cover the cost of movers if I just had someone local take it to my unit to which the answer was again a resounding NO. They did offer a 15% refund on this order but that didn't even cover the $225 I just dropped on getting movers to deliver it properly. I asked if I could speak to a customer service manager and they said that they could get someone to call me back today before 4 PM but it is well past 4 PM where I live and I have yet to hear from anyone.
I have never had any issue w/ picking up from World Market but hot damn delivery from World Market is absolute TRASH. What a horrid mess.
This company is a scam!
Was searching for a specific oils as a gift for later this year. Accidentally purchased my entire cart. I contacted them within seconds of the order and they claimed they couldn't cancel the order. They said they couldn't stop shipping the product, even tho it hadn't been but a few minutes since the order.
Customer service is trash. They refused to reimburse me and didnt send a return label, saying it wasn't something they could allow. Even though they told me they would refund me IF I ended up getting the product and sent it back.
I communicated that this order brought be into the negative with my bank and they refused to help.
Do NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. It's a scam. 100% a scam.
Don't order anything on line
Don't order anything on line. Especially furniture or rugs.
A month ago I order a large area rug that was not available at the store. So. I ordered it on line. After 2 weeks, the order was cancelled because they only had 25 of them in their warehouse!! It did not make sense.
I lost all my rewards on that order.
Re- order again the same the carpet, but after two weeks I found out it was canceled again. I called customer service and asked for a Manger, but he did not even want to talk to me. Sent his message via customer service lady. I had a horrible experience. It was a nightmare. Be careful with this company. Horrible service.
Outdoor chairs …
We bought outdoor chairs and a few months after they were already so damaged. We tried to return them but they refused .
They do not stand by their products and are so rude .
We will never buy from them again .
They don’t treat you like this at Pottery Barn
I reached out to customer service.
We'll send you a complaint form.
I have nothing.
I called again. We'll send you a complaint form, they said again.
Still nothing.
I emailed the VP of store operations, Scott Traverso.
It was blocked.
I emailed Barry Feld, CEO.
Also blocked.
I called again. May I please send something to Mr Traverso?
All I can do is take a report, m'aam.
I already did that. No one sent me the form. And yes I checked my spam folder.
Sorry m'aam...he repeated his script.
Your company spends all this money on marketing. Customers walk into their stores to spend real money, and are treated in hostile ways. They try to share their experience. And they can't reach the ones who would care?
Sorry m'aam...all I can do is take a report...
Unbelievable. Outrageous. I have never been treated so horrendously than by the staff, Addi, Brianna and Graham, at the 28th Street store in Boulder, CO.
After being ignored the entirety of my visit with only 3 customers present and listening to the staff giggling like high schoolers at the front counter for twenty minutes, I gave up asking for help. Did they have the Chemex filters, as they sold the Chemex coffee carafes? No, sorry, the salesperson said as she walked away.
I set down my full basket close to the front register. No one else was around. I continued shopping. When I finished, I walked back up to check out.
Excuse me, did you see a basket here? I asked a salesperson.
Yeah - it's up there. No apologies. You want it?
Yes, please.
I walked up to the front register to pay for my things. Graham rang up my purchases. $235 and thirty-or-so items later, he asks,
Do you want a bag?
Yes, I do.
I waited. Quietly. He came to the two pottery bowls I was buying.
Do you want me to wrap these?
What do you think? I smiled.
Addi or Brianna, I forget who, stepped up. M'aam, you don't have to be rude.
How am I being rude? I am the customer here. I'm spending over $200. Perhaps you can train your staff to bag customers' items?
We do train our people, m'aam. You're being disrespectful.
How am I being disrespectful?
You have an attitude, m'aam.
I turned back to Graham. I'd appreciate those white pillows put in a bag so they don't get dog fur all over them from my car.
We don't have any bags for them.
I waited. He finished tossing my purchases into one bag, and I finished my transaction.
I've never been treated like this in a retail outlet, I said.
You're perfectly welcome to NOT come here, Brianna piped up.
I've no idea where you all learned about customer service, I said. I've come here for years. I've never been treated like this.
You have an attitude, Brianna repeated. Now LEAVE AND DON'T COME BACK HERE.
Addi stood flashing her name badge at me, just so I could get the spelling right. Brianna and Graham stood, shoulder-to-shoulder. I tucked the pillows under my arm, grabbed my bag, and walked out.
HAVE A NICE DAY! Brianna shouted angrily at my back.
And THIS, dear shoppers, is how you can expect to be treated at the World Market in Boulder, Colorado, when you spend over $200 to try to patronize brick and mortar, in a place you have shopped for over ten years.
Company takes a week or more to provide…
Company takes a week or more to provide a response. I received a piece of art, the frame was cracked. It is no longer available online to repurchase. The crack on the frame was concealed, my husband even cut his hand opening it! Such a bad product. The reviews were 1 star. They want me to send this broken product that I have sent pictures of back. What a hassle. I was going to put it in the dumpster. I think they should be a little more realistic when it comes to a refund and the hassle of returning a broken product.
Terrible customer service.
Terrible customer service.
I ordered some items for the holidays with the promise to ship in 2-3 days. After 8 days and only half my order shipping I reached out. First, they asked me to supply all the information I already gave to start the chat. Annoying, but fine. Then the agent was allegedly looking into my issue when the chat just dropped and I was reassigned to a new person and had to do the whole thing again. She basically just said she had no information for me, gave me an inactive tracking number and told me to keep an eye on it, and if it didn't ship in 48 hours I should request a refund. I asked if I would be contacted if there was something wrong with my order, and she said nope, I need to reach back out to them. Based on other reviews here I am not expecting much if I need to get a refund. Both agents also had tough attitudes, mispelling things and clearly not actually reading my messages.
The worst experience I have EVER…
The worst experience I have EVER experienced with a big box company. I ordered a table. it got lost in in the mail. After many phone calls, it got reordered. THEN LOST AGAIN!!! Then after many more phone calls, they STARTED to process a refund. I had ordered this table to arrive in plenty of time for thanksgiving. No table. SO ANGRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The worst customer service ever!!
The worst customer service ever!!! Never order furniture from them as you will not get your furniture. My furniture was never delivered!! I tried emailing, calling and filling a complaint with World Market and their shipping carrier only to be placed on lengthy holds. They never resolved the issue and had no idea where my delivery was other than shipping was in transit. Now going through credit card company to file for fraud as goods were not delivered.
Although World Market offers an amazing…
Although World Market offers an amazing variety, they fall short on customer service. And if you are ordering from their website, good luck. If your order doesn't get properly filled, you will have a heck of a time getting World Market to ship you a replacement, if at all. I was surprised when I reached out to them via email and was simply ignored.
I was notified three times
I was notified three times by their "carrier" that they had stopped by my residence, but no evidence to that effect exists, for some reason. I have had no responses to my enquiries, and small claims court will be the next step
Rather Frustrating Customer Experience.
Between Jenelle by email and Rhonda on the phone, my goodness this was a rather frustrating customer service experience. Jenelle didn't seem to understand I already received the packages associated with my online order which didn't contain part of the order and so, instructed me to wait another 5 days for the packages I already received lol!
So, I resorted to a phone call instead. Then Rhonda spent most of our phone call talking to herself and her computer screen, verbally self-reporting her own and the computer's incompetence! Fortunately by some twist of fate, that call was inadvertently disconnected.
When I called back, I spoke to Renee who seemingly more competently could understand the issue and much more efficiently set about putting in for a re-ship of the items I haven't yet received. Fingers crossed they get delivered successfully this time! Not sure online orders from World Market are worth this trouble in the future and I don't think I'll be back.
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
They have absolutely the WORST customer service of any store I have EVER worked with. Their agents and supervisors promise price matches and credits on items, and then once the items are purchased, the price is not matched. I have spent several weeks going back and forth with them, being told my credits were coming and I would be receiving the price match I was promised...over and over! Mike, the brand manager, had proof that I was to receive specific pricing on my chairs and still refused to honor what I was told I would receive. I will NEVER do business with them again...in-store or online! NEVER!!!!!!!
