Penalised For Complaining...
Asked on 24/04 for account to be frozen while a complaint was being investigated. This was done fine and received an email saying account would be frozen for 38 days. This should have taken me to 01/06. Following the final response, my account did not get unfrozen therefore I was unable to pay using my account online. Got a late payment marker added to my credit file for May even though account should have been frozen until 1st June therefore no payment in May to actually miss, called on 7th June (this is the date I noticed the late payment marker) to complain and asked for account to be unfrozen. Wasn’t given the option to pay over the phone so assumed I could only do it via my online account. Strung me along for another 8 weeks while looking at this complaint however account still hadn’t been unfrozen So was still unable to make payment. Now have three late payment markers logged against my file which has brought my credit score down from 597 to 434, through no fault of my own. Final response to the complaint about late payment markers came through last week. Apparently as I didn’t call to rectify, any late payment markers are valid. I did call. I wasn’t given the option to pay over the phone. I can’t pay if my account is locked. Replied saying I did call but no one offered to take the payment there and then however received a reply saying they’d already given me a final response and that my only other option was to take it to the ombudsman. Didn’t even offer to reinvestigate taking in to account the fact that I did call. Taking complaint to ombudsman now as they don’t seem to care about customers very much. I feel like I’ve been penalised for complaining in the first place. Won’t recommend to anyone ever again in future. Terrible company to deal with and have completely screwed up my credit file.
EDIT: after being asked to email their Trust Pilot complaint address, I didn’t even receive an acknowledgment to my email. Eventually emailed them back this morning only to receive an email this afternoon basically saying the same as the previous complaint response said. Absolutely pointless waste of my time. Loyal customers mean nothing to these people.

Have used Wonga many times over the years. Fast, efficient and not the most expensive out there. I have used them for short term loans only so cannot comment on their other services. Had issues with the automated website trying to amend my account details, used the 'chat' option...mistake...they didn't understand the question, repeated queries and we're of no help at all. Website finally worked and loan approved. In my bank within minutes.. Good to know they are there when needed.

I used wonga for a small short term loan, the payment was almost instant to my bank account and got me out of a sticky situation. I even saved money paying back early. Recommended

I thought Wonga was gonna be a great company they let me have a loan that I paid back in full and early before it was due so thought I try and reapply for another loan and they refused me don't get loan from them they will lead you into false hope and grief 😢😭😠😡 I was hoping to stay with them I think I proved myself by paying early and in full
Great way for quick money till payday.
This company goes from bad to worse
This company goes from bad to absolute worst. Raised a complaint last year that went to the FOS. FOS upheld this complaint and Wonga were instructed to refund me some money. This was agreed by Wonga and included using some of this refund to pay off an existing loan taken out in June. All straightforward and easy. Refund landed in my account in October 2017 and thought no more. In December 2017 a debt collection agency emailed me to ask about paying my loan. Wonga hadn't paid off the old loan (despite keeping the money from my refund), hadn't been in touch at all and sent my loan to a debt collection agency. Not only that but my credit file showed my loan as 3 months in arrears in January 2017, months before I had even taken it out, and then showed defaulted! I had credit cards cancelled just before Xmas and couldn't get credit anywhere as my credit file was a mess. Wonga agreed to fix this after pushing from myself and I also received a little compensation, however this took much longer than it should have.
Fast forward to August 2018 and the file is STILL on my credit report, and although showing as settled, it still shows the default and all the late payment markers going back months before I had even taken the loan. Wonga "ruining peoples lives since 2006"
Update: Emailed trustpilot@wonga as per below and got no response. Chased up customer services today and despite the fact I have now shown Wonga their continued mistakes, they have told me to go back to the Financial Ombudsman Service. Absolutely disgraceful response from a shambolic organisation. They claim they can't talk to me now as my complaint was through the FOS. Strange that didn't seem to matter in December and January when I did all the chasing. Spoke to the FOS today who can not believe Wonga are still not doing as they were instructed to do a year ago! This company should be shut down for their unethical practices, blatant disregard to their Ombudsman and clearly not giving a jot about their customers wellbeing. Having the same conversations over and over again is just tiresome
I ask anyone who thinks about taking a loan from this organisation to seriously think if they need the money that much, as you have every chance of finding yourself years later in a financial mess despite not owing this company anything.
