Worst experience of my life.. I have had so many problems with them.. The medical assistant is so rude and lazy.. I started with Dr.Orris and once I got Medicare they put me with Dr.Buddensick..I had a EDG about a year ago and he did another one about 6 weeks ago.. After he finished I never saw him, no one called me..Dr. Buddensick told the medical assistant to get me appointments for the EGD and psych exam, she told us that someone would call and schedule it.. I waited 2 weeks and no one called, I called them, she scheduled me right then for the EGD.. I had to call back again to find out about my psych exam..
So just because you see a commercial on TV for them, don’t believe everything you see.. The red flags were there, I just kept giving them the benefit of the doubt.. I went and saw another Weightloss doctor and wow what a difference.. So I’m still trying to get my records transferred over to the new doctor, that is all I need to get my surgery scheduled.. The new doctors office has called WLIA 3 times and I have called them 2 times.. Miss rude lazy medical assistant at WLIA told me they don’t have to send my records for 30 days.. I’m definitely going to make a complaint to the medical board.. NO ONE SHOULD EVER BE TREATED THE WAY I HAVE BEEN.. My husband told me in the beginning he did not like that office, he said they run people through like a herd of cattle.. So people, do your research, don’t go to a doctor because the have a TV commercial!! My new doctor spent 45 minutes with me and my husband showing us pictures and explaining every procedure in detail..

I first went to WLIA September 2, 2015. I was so impressed with Dr. Michael Orris and his team at WLIA. They took so much time with me and helped me understand every thing I needed to understand in order to make my dicision to Have Gastric Sleeve surgery. This team knows what they are doing and do it well. I had my surgery Nov. 13, 2015 and could not be more pleased. I will recommend all my friends and family to WLIA if they need this type of surgery. To date I have lost 65 pounds.

I decided last August to have weight loss surgery and chose WLIA on the recommendation of a friend who had the Lap Band procedure with them the prior December. She had such a wonderful experience that it tipped the tables for me and made me decide to have surgery. I have been very pleased with the staff and my surgeon, Dr. Orris, must have done a FANTASTIC job because I had a very easy recovery and absolutely no complications. The only concern I have is what the actual cost of this procedure is going to be. I have not paid a single dime to them yet. I keep receiving insurance checks and signing them over to them, but it still remains to be seen what my out of pocket cost will be. I don't really like not knowing a set dollar amount before going into this. The surgery was too important to me and once I made the decision to have it done, I wanted to move on it right away. I guess I just have to wait and see. My nutritionist, Mike, is very helpful and available for questions. I love that they have support group meetings that I was able to attend before and after my procedure.

All of the contact I have had everyone on the staff has been very professional and courteous. Dr. Ho was the doctor to whom I originally consulted with for my options. She walked me through each, listened to what my concerns were, and helped me choose what her and I agreed was the best path. No pressure to sign up or act on anything. They are A+.

I have received nothing but courteous and professional assistance since beginning my bariatric surgery adventure. I am so happy I was referred to them. During my consultation I learned everything possible about the procedure I was looking into and had the opportunity to talk with a staff member who had the same procedure.

They are the best!!

Very happy with my experience with Dr. Orris and staff. They are very knowledgeable and extremely nice. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Orris and his team to anyone looking into having a gastric sleeve done.

Dr. Barros at the Weight Loss Institute of AZ has been available to answer my questions and help me understand the details of the lap band procedure. The location in Glendale is convenient and the office staff always try to assist as needed.
