WJ King Welling Branch

We purchased a car from this showroom. The sales consultant was professional and not pushy at all - he let us make all the decisions about our purchase. Darren was very informative and professional throughout our experience.

Highly recommend.

Bromley branch

Bromley branch. Booked to replace tyre sensors. On picking up the car the whole car misted up in the cabin making driving dangerous. We had been advised that the car needed a new battery and quoted £200. The car has NEVER not started before so we decided to carry out this work elsewhere and it was suggested by our local garage that this could be done easily if necessary. Bromley WJ King are taking no responsibility for the defective air con or whatever is causing the dangerous misting, which was not an issue before we brought it in. Now the car completely dead- having never caused us any problems until we visited the Vauxhall garage who pressed us twice to upgrade our vehicle. Coincidental our car now not working after our visit? Do not recommend this garage. Over priced and ineffective.

Dear Lucy,
Thank you for contacting us and sharing your concerns regarding your recent visit to our Bromley branch. I am very sorry to hear about the stressful situation you experienced with your vehicle. I understand how frustrating it is to deal with a sudden breakdown.

I have sent over your details to the manager for them to look into this.

Many thanks

You don’t get what you pay for with the sales department!

Back in 2024, I ordered a new van from WJ King Sidcup to my exact specification. One of the options I specifically paid for was a heat-reflective windscreen, designed to reduce the heat inside the cab when the sun is shining directly onto it.

Nearly two years later, I discovered that the windscreen specified and paid for was never actually fitted.

I contacted Stellantis, who have told me that this is not their responsibility and that the supplying dealer should have checked the vehicle was built and supplied to the specification that was ordered.

Unfortunately, WJ King Sidcup have also refused to accept responsibility. Both salesmen involved, Paul Hitchcock and Tony Redout, have told me that it is not their problem.

I find this extremely disappointing. When you order a new vehicle to a specific specification, you expect the dealer to make sure that what you ordered and paid for is actually what you receive. It shouldn’t be the customer’s responsibility to discover, almost two years later, that an option they paid for was never fitted.

After this experience, WJ King Sidcup will certainly not be my first choice when it comes to buying another vehicle.

If you’re ordering a vehicle from them, I would strongly recommend checking every single option and specification yourself before accepting delivery — otherwise you may find yourself paying for something you never actually receive.

Brought a 2024 Peugeot 2008 the sales team were great but after making some checks I find the car was given an MOT (not needed until January 27) I was not told about this, supposedly had a Spoticar extensive service the mot gave 4 advisery on tyres so I decided to change all 4 but when it came to the day unable as the locking wheel nut key did not fit if car had an exstensive service why was this not picked up and replaced? I contacted dealership and finally the sales manager who agreed I could take the car and get the wheel nuts removed and replaced and he would arrange refund I am now £163 out of pocket, this company is so hard to contact this fault should have been picked on pre sale inspection.

⭐️ 1 STAR

⭐️ 1 STAR – Absolutely shocking experience with WJ King Vauxhall

Honestly, I’m absolutely fuming with how this whole situation has been handled.

My Vauxhall Mokka’s electric handbrake failed, leaving me completely stranded at a petrol station. The RAC came out and recovered the car to WJ King Vauxhall, and somehow the first issue was that the RAC driver was being challenged because we didn’t have a booking. My car had literally broken down and been recovered there — what exactly was I supposed to do, book the breakdown in advance?!

What makes this even more frustrating is that this wasn’t some completely unexpected problem. The handbrake had already been repaired previously because it was causing issues, but the problem clearly hadn’t actually been fixed.

A few weeks later, I booked the car back into the same dealership because the handbrake was still playing up. I specifically told them there was a fault and asked them to actually keep the car overnight and properly investigate it. I told them to drive it over bumps, speed bumps and properly test it because I knew there was still something wrong.

Despite all of that, I was told there was no fault with the car.

Well, there clearly bloody was.

Because not long afterwards, that exact issue left me stranded at a petrol station with a failed electric handbrake, needing the RAC to recover my car.

Then things got even more ridiculous.

I was told the handbrake fault was apparently caused by a drink/liquid being spilt in the car. I didn’t spill anything and completely disagreed with this.

They did show me what they said was evidence of liquid damage, but honestly, it meant absolutely nothing to me. I’m not a mechanic. I don’t know what I’m looking at in a technical photo, and I certainly don’t know how I’m supposed to understand that it proves I caused the problem. If you’re going to blame a customer and tell them they’re responsible for the repair, then actually explain the evidence properly instead of showing them a picture and expecting them to just accept it.

I was then told to go through my insurance. Absolutely not. Why should I be making an insurance claim for something I didn’t do?

And then, on top of all of that, I was actually asked to pay money for the repair. Obviously, I declined. Why on earth would I pay for a fault that I maintain I did not cause, especially after I had already reported problems with the handbrake to the same dealership and was told there was no fault?

Another Vauxhall dealership, Haynes Vauxhall Maidstone, later found a wiring fault and replaced the handbrake switch under warranty, determining that the issue wasn’t caused by me.

So I’m left asking myself: how was WJ King able to tell me there was “no fault” when I repeatedly told them there was one, only for the car to subsequently leave me stranded with the exact issue I had been reporting?

The whole experience has been an absolute joke. I feel like I was not listened to, not taken seriously and then blamed for a problem I had already reported.

When you take your car back to a dealership and specifically tell them there is a fault, you expect them to properly investigate it — not send you away saying there’s nothing wrong, only for the car to break down weeks later.

I expected much better from a Vauxhall dealership. Instead, I’ve been left completely frustrated, angry and with absolutely no confidence in WJ King.

Would I recommend them? Absolutely not.

1 star because zero stars apparently isn’t an option.

Our experience with WJ King Welling Vauxhall

Our experience with WJ King Welling and our new Vauxhall Frontera has been extremely disappointing.

Faults started within days of delivery and continued for over five months despite multiple dealership visits, diagnostic investigations and formal complaints. During this time, responsibility often seemed to pass between the dealership, workshop, manufacturer and customer care teams, while the vehicle remained unresolved.

Most concerningly, we have now been advised that one of the faults affecting our vehicle is a known issue impacting multiple Frontera owners and that there is currently no available fix.

We understand that issues can occur with any car. What matters is how they are resolved. Unfortunately, after months of faults, inconvenience and escalation, we are still paying for a vehicle that is acknowledged to be faulty and remain without a meaningful resolution.

test drive

I visited this car showroom to test drive the Seat Ibiza. I was warmly greeted by the sales staff in the showroom and in particular Ashley Ide who the test drive was booked with. Ashley explained all the car functions clearly before we went for the test drive which went very smoothly. Back in the showroom we went through the finer details which were again explained throughly and I was allowed the time to digest so much information. Ashley is very professional, polite and courteous and without any sales pressure, this made the whole process of buying a car very easy. I happily purchased the car and would definitely recommend a visit to the Sidcup branch.

Car Not as Described – Check the Service History Carefully

Unfortunately, there is no option to give zero stars, because based on my experience, that is what I would give WJ King.

I purchased a Vauxhall Astra from WJ King in May 2025 for £20,984. At the time of purchase, I was told that the car had been serviced and that the servicing was fully up to date. The vehicle's service book and dashboard also indicated that the next service was due in March 2026.

I subsequently discovered that the second annual service had not actually been carried out.

The March 2025 entry in the service book does not record either an Interim or Main Service. Instead, the work recorded was simply "lights + levels and brake fluid". When the car was later inspected by an independent garage, the vehicle's own system showed that maintenance was overdue by 17,200 miles and the garage recommended that the service be carried out.

This is particularly disappointing given that I specifically relied on the representation that the car had been fully serviced when deciding to purchase it.

The matter is currently being considered by the Motor Ombudsman, so I won't comment further on the outcome or make any assumptions about the final resolution.

My advice to anyone buying a used car from WJ King — check the service history yourself, in detail, and don't simply rely on what you are told about the car's servicing. Check the actual service entries and, where possible, verify the manufacturer's service records.

I am extremely disappointed that a car costing almost £21,000 was sold to me with its service history represented as being up to date when the evidence subsequently showed that the second annual service had not been carried out.

For me, this experience has completely undermined my confidence in WJ King.

2 days waiting for a call back from service department to discuss a safety recall. Today, couldn’t even get through on the phone “your call cannot be transferred” I called a different franchise, service receptionist, who had the info to hand, described the recall and said I could wait while the work was done - more achieved in 3 minutes than 3 days trying to work with W J King - wouldn’t try again for anything - not even directions to a reliable garage!

Problems with car after repairs

Spent £4000 on service, MOT and some repairs. Went to pick car up after they've had it two days and we can't start it as the ignition barrel won't turn.
Mechanic came out to have a look and said he'd had trouble with it the full time he was working on the car. Funny that since we've had no problems with it at all - it's only after picking the car up. His response was he doesn't know what to suggest. I thought these were vauxhall mechanics! Eventually got it started and the car home. Went out again later and same thing, can't start the car again. I do not recommend W J King at all.

Excellent customer service and outstanding support with a very tricky problem. It turned out our brand new car had been supplied without a locking wheel nut key, and after being passed from pillar to post by the leasing company, WJ King Sidcup (SEAT & CUPRA) stepped in to help. They replaced all the wheel bolts, provided a new key, and even contacted the leasing company directly to secure authorisation for the work.

I am extremely grateful for your help in finally resolving an issue that took me more than 25 phone calls and emails to sort out. The service was smooth, efficient, and very much appreciated.

Thank you for your excellent customer care.

Absolutely shocking dealership.

Absolutely shocking dealership.
I purchased an electric vehicle in march, it lasted around 9 weeks before breaking down, Bromley dealership where i purchased it from 100% dismissed me claiming they have no ev technicians (later find that is BS) Go to Dartford branch, was told they would not accept the vehicle as they were fully booked, but the AA who collected car told them he was leaving it in drive and it was now their problem, service dept 100% refused to help telling me that they MIGHT get round to looking at it within the next 4 weeks, obviously i was screwed and had no choice, so i was now miles from home with no vehicle and being told that until diagnostic check done they would not supply a car. This would take up to 4 weeks.
I then had to take a taxi back to Bromley branch at my own expense £35.00 later where i had to wait over 3 hours because the manager Dean refused to help me.
Consequently i contacted the head of stelantis and managing director of wj king who took over my case and basically forced Dartford branch to deal with car.
To say this experience is poor is a real understatement, I would never ever recommend anyone using either of these branches, do yourself a massive favour and go somewhere else...i guarantee you will be disappointed if you dont.
Ps
The salesman was trying to sell me Petrol for Electric car?

I bought a vehicle from WJ King dealership in Swanley.
Terry sold me a 3 year warranty with the vehicle. I have recently uncovered the warranty was only 2 years and non refundable.
The after sales service at this dealership is terrible.

Edit
Since my review,I was advised by WJ King that Swanley manager would look into this for me.
I still haven't had any update since.

This is exactly what I was meaning with regards to after sales.

Absolutely disgusted with Vauxhall

Absolutely disgusted with Vauxhall, not only w j king in Artillery Place, Woolwich, but also their customer service team. It’s been 7 weeks since I asked politely why they didn’t tell me about a charge for wheel locking nuts, I wasn’t made aware of? I had a perfectly good set, that was replaced with no notification until I
Look at my invoice the next day.
They have chosen to completely ignore my emails and call.
I had a monthly plan with them which I am no longer paying for, cancelled because of their lack of actions and unprofessionalism. I also paid £150 for aircon re-gas, which doesn’t feel like it was done either. I’d avoid Vauxhall and this branch at all costs. They also said my break were ok, wasn’t a hazard, I said how work are they? They said 90%! So why not show this on the MOT report? I am sure they just make it all up.

WJ King Bromley

I recently picked up my new Cupra Formentor Tribe Edition from WJ King Cupra in Bromley, and I honestly couldn't be happier with the experience.

A huge thank you to Sam Morgan, who was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. She was incredibly friendly, approachable, and genuinely made the whole handover feel exciting rather than just another routine appointment. She took the time to walk me through every single feature of the car with complete professionalism, explaining everything clearly and never once making it feel rushed or like she was simply going through the motions.

I had plenty of questions, some of them probably quite silly, but Sam answered every one with a smile, patience, and a wealth of knowledge. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and she made sure I was completely comfortable and confident before I drove away.

Customer service like this is becoming increasingly rare, and Sam is a real credit to WJ King Cupra Bromley. She made what should have been a straightforward collection into a genuinely memorable experience. If you're looking to buy a Cupra, I couldn't recommend Sam highly enough.

Thank you again for making the collection of my new Formentor such a special day! 10/10
