I've used Winpure for 9 years now (since 2007) and have found it to be the perfect companion to the many data projects I do for marketing and sales campaigns. Having started my own firm since then, I now have every client facing team member get Winpure on their machine to benefit from friendly UI, efficient speed, and dependability.

I am a consultant for large Fortune 100 and 500 companies and have used many of the very expensive/sophisticated data matching, data cleansing and data de-duplication tools in the market and to tell you the truth, I have been very impressed with the capabilities that WinPure offers against the others and specifically at the price range, it offers such capabilities. As most people in this business know, not all the tools address every client requirement, but WinPure for the most part does and in a recent instance when WinPure was missing a feature that my client found significant, they were able to roll that feature in a recent release and kept my client quite happy. So from my perspective, not only do they have excellent technical support, but most importantly, they listen and are willing to go the extra mile to add needed features when a feature that makes sense to them and to their client is requested.

Our day in age has been called "The Information Age" but, in reality, it is more accurately the "over information age." We are inundated with data every second from a myriad of sources. A big part of the challenge is getting the data into a consistent, standardized form that combines fragments and deletes duplicates without losing data.

WinPure does exactly this. Unlike online services such as fullcontact.com or Plaxo.com, each project is its own file; no crossing data from multiple projects or lists. Then, the MS Office style tabbed user interface provides a practically self-guided tour through cleaning and standardizing the data before matching it. Dual Screen / Dual Display is possible as the clean and match components are a separate window that can be dragged onto a second screen.

Clean & Match has a wide array of options for both cleaning and matching. Cleaning data first greatly increases the probability of true matches and decreases the risk of false matches. Again, the interface is practically self guiding as each function is literally its own tab within the clean component. First remove extra spaces, hidden characters, etc. Then, correct the capitalization of your data to proper case, all caps, or all lower case; users can add to the pre-set exceptions. There is also a function for cleaning e-mails.

Finally, the matching component also walks the user through step-by step. First, the user can choose which columns to match; for example, first name, last name, organization name and address. Matching then has a number of options. We found it most effective to run a multi-pass system: first basic search, then advanced search with defined columns (first name = person name, last name = person name, Church = organization name, phone = phone number) and cross column matching. This allows WinPure to run advanced algorithms. Lastly, we would run defined columns with fuzzy logic at 95.

Win Pure does not just match possible duplicates, it allows the user to decide whether or not those really are duplicates. It does this through two different views: "split view" and "single grid." Split view allows the user to examine one set of matches at a time with the matches split between whether they came from table 1 or table 2 (users can import up to two tables). Single Grid is exactly as its name implies: it is a single list; banding separates one set of matches from the next.

Win Pure is not perfect, I still had to export to Microsoft Office Excel and comb through the list for duplicates. Also, I never could figure out how to merged two lists as the program claims and export the combined list without using a filter. That said, tech support has been world class; the best support I can remember ever experiencing.

CAM is best product available among the Filtration and matching products available in market. Very easy to use and useful product.

I love the products ability to easily clean and manage duplicates. Also It's ability to merge and purge records between 2 lists is very powerful.

I used to use MatchIt software from QAS which cost us a fortune, both in the software and the annual maintenance. I've been looking for an alternative for a couple of years and am so glad I found WinPure. Easy to use and quite effective.
