Awful experience NIPT

I booked NIPT screening after the sonographer at my NHS scan was unable to get the measurements required for their screening. I chose Window to the Womb as they had an appointment available that day and I wanted to know sooner rather than later if everything was ok.

My appointment was 25 minutes late, but otherwise fine and I was told I'd receive my results within 5-7 working days.

After 9 working days had passed, I phoned the clinic to see if they could chase my results and was told they'd take 7-10 working days from arriving at the lab, but no tracking was available (and therefore there was no way of knowing if/when they'd even arrived at the lab).

After 12 working days had passed, I phoned the clinic again and was told they'd chase up. The following day - 16 days after I had my blood taken - they emailed me to say Royal Mail had lost my blood sample. I was offered a free repeat test and this time, tracking would magically be available.

If tracking was an option all along, it should not have taken 16 whole days to establish my sample was lost. 16 days of worrying about my results, refreshing my email constantly.

If you are in any way anxious about your pregnancy - as I imagine many people choosing NIPT are - do not go to Window to the Womb.

(As an aside, they also sent someone else's scan results to a friend of mine, so have no concept of GDPR either.)

I've since gone elsewhere for screening and the experience was night and day.

Wonderful from start to finish

Wonderful from start to finish. Staff were professional, receptionist, sonographer and assistants. They were so thorough, kind and genuinely cared about our experience. We had a gender scan and it was honestly magical. They included our family who came with us, and I can’t thank them enough.

Would 100% recommend!

Really friendly and informative staff. My baby was being difficult (hiding) in the first scan so a re-scan was booked in without any issue. Sonographer and the assistant explained everything that they could see when completing the scan which was helpful and interesting. Would 100% recommend to any expectant mother!

A wonderful place to go

WTTW is a lovely place to have a scan. We have been a handful of times to see our baby in utero. The staff are so kind and charismatic, they are always happy to help and always makes our experience feel personal. They have a good range of soft toys/gender reveal bits too. 100% would recommend having your scans here! Nduka the sonographer is amazing and always puts a smile on our face!

Fab company!

Went for my 2nd scan at Window to Womb Swansea and can't fault them! Booking and payment is simple and affordable, all staff were friendly and informative, option to add on a teddy or balloon was fab and my kids thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the new baby process. Thank you again!
