Electrical

Short Version: Without Prejudice: I rang for a quote for a TV outlet. I contacted & was told $165 call out, $145 for outlet (he was adamant on that) + $20 for 1 metre cable from TV to wall = $330. Never came out to see the job for quote. He said he'd need access to the Aerial, I arranged with my Neighbour as she is under it to go through her Unit. He said there would be a partition in Roof between sections and would need putting down and back up. When guys that came out eventually said none of what he said was needed as a Connection Box was on my Balcony, no obstruction for Manhole access, guy $@m said there was plenty of room in Roof, so not as complicated. At end of job the guy J came back & said it'd be more than I thought, said I had to pay their wages, cable, contradicted himself, how did he know what I thought if I hadn't a quote, he said he didn't know owner had given me a quote. He said it's "MUCH" more than "I" thought, said it's going to be $750. Was he expecting a Cash payment on the spot. (how much is not being declared?). I asked do you do this all the time, quote then hike up the price. Tried to Con me. I said I wasn't paying that, everything he said I had an answer back to him, he didn't get what he wanted from me. He left saying he'd get owner to email me. Week & half later they emailed invoice at 19.38 on Friday night, saw it at 23.17 getting into bed, he expected payment as soon as I saw it. At no time was it discussed as to how or when Payment was to be paid. Still much more than quoted and stated on invoice they had "NO ACCESS", it was "Complicated job", not straightforward. Couldn't have been more straight forward. They had no respect for my home, as the con one kept bumping into my other things. He left grime on my Carpet in bedroom. I would shudder to think how they could do anything like install an Air Con, or any other Electrical work. I have all correspondence, recordings, emails. The lies and trying to Con me was not a Professional trustworthy Company. All information has been forwarded to the Department of Fair Trading. The Owner is arrogant, cranky and a smart@$$. Avoid this Company. How many others are they scamming, and Solo Seniors as I am.
