We’ve been building things for the outdoors since 1878 - long before garden sheds were a household staple. It all started with E.C. Walton, a bee-keeping lecturer who began crafting affordable beehives for his students. When local farmers saw his carpentry skills, they came calling for chicken coops, and soon Walton Muskham Beehive Works was born.
From those early days in Nottinghamshire, we’ve spent over 140 years learning how to design and deliver high-quality garden buildings that stand the test of time. What began with beehives has grown into sheds, summerhouses, and spaces that help people make more of their outdoors.
When you choose Waltons, you’re not only investing in high-quality products - you're choosing expert design, time-tested durability, and a customer-first commitment that sets us apart. Here’s why thousands of homeowners continue to trust Waltons for their outdoor space.

Not happy about the comms or the way they managed an order.
We bought the summerhouse in April, it's now July, I think that speaks for itself. First the base we bought arrives with no screws, then some screws but not all screws. No printed instructions, We build the base and let them know, supplying all the info they asked for. Next summerhouse installation. First time was a no show, then the next time they arrived but with no summerhouse. This time, they arrive and won't build the summerhouse because they don't like our base, despite us fulfilling all the criteria they asked for. They want to charge for a redelivery, can we charge them for wasting our working days twice? Just awful. And no accountability. I am in contact with customer service and they are aware of my complaint. I will update this accordingly.

Really good communication from Walton’s and the delivery team. Easy to assemble with plenty of screws and easy to follow instructions.

Very happy with my greenhouse shed so far. Delivery wasn't the smoothest as didn't roll up the 1st day (problem with van apparently although didn't know until later). Then received email/message to say it would be delivered 2 days later but it actually rolled up the next morning very early. Still received further email/message to say it was being delivered the following day!

I’m absolutely in love!! We bought a summer house from Walton’s and it’s great I even had a log burner installed. The wood is good quality I did have a bit of trouble with one piece of wood slotting together but we just had to cut a piece the it fit perfectly so other than that it was easy to put up. For the price I would definitely recommend!

Great service delivered right on time. My son built it with no problems very pleased with the quality.

Everything was good, what was expected only and would highly recommend. The only bad thing was it was delivered at 6am and I got the notification at 6.35am so had to get up quick

Ordered, didn’t arrive on date advised when taking money. Arrived over a month later. Haven’t had the opportunity to assemble yet, based on prior performance wouldn’t be surprised if wrong / damaged product has been sent. Incredibly Inconvenient, would actively discourage using company in future all.

I ordered a 7x3 overlap bike shed. It was advertised as being 7ft x 3ft, but it was only 6ft 4 inches wide. When I contacted customer services they told me that the product was as described to approximate dimensions but it was nowhere near. They insisted the correct dimensions are in the specifications but they aren’t. The timber was also warped and in poor condition, and despite me sending photographic evidence of this they refused point blank to refund my money and take it away. I would not buy anything from this company again and would recommend nobody else does either.
FOLLOWING YOUR RESPONSE, the exact dimensions aren’t in the specifications, as I discussed with you at great length (your customer service operative even agreed they weren’t in there), I asked you to point out exactly where they were and you then started to ignore my emails. As for the timber, I’m aware that wood is a natural substance but thanks for clearing that up, this isn’t a storage or transit issue, it’s just extremely bad quality. Toni in the refunds department has clearly been on her obsinance training course recently. Anyway, as I said, it’s not about the money, it’s about being ripped off. As previously stated, I wouldn’t touch this lot with a barge pole. The worst bit was it took a month to get here for me to find out it was a pile of junk.

Good product excellent after sales experience when one of the components was faulty.

The ordering, processing and delivery were all ok.
Installation was fairly straightforward.
As with most cases it’s the after sales that I have issue with.
Huge gaps gave appeared between some wall planks on the summerhouse (25mm etc.).
I asked for some advice but was told this was normal.
The replies to my query were just a couple of sentences ending with “ as per instructions” or “as per our warranty”
I was hoping for a little more help and interaction.

The purchase was smooth , but there were so many parts missing , and even though I purchased a base and were meticulous that it was level , lots of the panels were warped causing problems, we had to add wood to cover gaps that were created by warps. There were nails that had been nail gunned which is fine but lots were sticking out enough to catch your hands. Lots of wood was missing ie there wasn't enough wood to do the facia supplied so we had to use the wood for the decking to finish the facia ! Screws for the shed door were too long even though used size stated and even the shirt ones too long ! And very knotty wood!! With the heat I can see daylight through one point in the side panel !
Basically the quality of the Corner summerhouse with side shed I received was very disappointing for the money.

I’m writing this in behave of my mum. She ordered a summer house from Waltons and waited over 2 months for this to be delivered. She paid extra for the painting of the summer house and for it to be fixed together. They arrived and fix the summer house. The veranda part was green and the rest of the summer house was grey which was the colour my mum had chosen. My mum called three times and all they said was, you need to wait for a date. She finally got annoyed and received the part to be replace for it to show up not painted AT All. The guys arrived today to fix a part that was not needed, they were unable to do anything as it needed to be replaced by a painted part. They were shocked to see the summer house handles, screws were not straight, split wood from where the nails were banged in and the paining very patchy. We didn’t complain about this because as far as we were concerned we felt it hadn’t been finished.
My mum is very disappointed with the customer service as they clearly aren’t able to deal with complaints effectively and the installation was appalling. Hopefully you will have better service than my mum had received and I am hoping that this will generate a call rectify the appalling overall service my mum has received so far.

Delivery was on time as scheduled, driver was helpful and unloaded the cabin efficiently and too through to rear garden. As this is a log cabin it comes in component form. It was very easy to erect and all parts fitted very well. The quality is very good for the price and I am very pleased with the finished cabin.
I would recommend Waltons on every level.

Poor quality timber that was warped and near impossible to put together, even with professional help

Do not use this company!! Had a summerhouse delivered then only 1 week later our circumstances changed as in my partner had to be admitted to hospital for a procedure. We phoned the company to order the installation service and they refused because we had not ordered this service at time of purchase. All they could offer was 'contact your local joiner' Quality of the summerhouse not very good - perspex windows, not glass and thin wood. Not al all happy with the service!

Ordered a Willow Way 1 climbing frame for our 4-year old grandson. I read online reviews beforehand and knew the wood was untreated and that all fixing holes had to be drilled. Walton's have been trading since 1878 so they ought to be capable of getting things right by now. Various packs of timber were delivered shrink-wrapped with unhelpful codes such as SU-12NTTWRSLRF01WD-V2-FK. These had to be married up with component packs and instruction leaflets - only some of the instruction leaflets hadn't been proof-read properly and the codes were duplicated.
Component packs were clearly intended to be exact count - only some were short (none had too many!). Some components (e.g penny washers) were too big and didn't fit. When called, Walton's were aware of the problem already - but offered no solution.
Two component packs along with their associated instructions were missing. One component pack we managed without - the other Lily from Customer Services supplied using next day delivery.
It took a lot longer to build than expected - two trips to Screwfix, during the build didn't help with timings. Now it's finally built, our grandson loves it so it was worth the effort but Walton's really needs to do better.

Customer service was great. We needed to delay delivery a couple of times as the landscapers were behind schedule, and this was arranged easily and quickly. I was a little surprised when the delivery truck arrived at 6:30 in the morning, but the driver was fiendly and unloaded the whole delivery without needing any assistance. The build quality is not fantastic, but is great value for the price.

I ordered my summer house in May and was advised usual delivery was in 3 weeks. When three weeks had passed with no delivery date advised I followed up and was told it would not be coming until July. I had arranged for someone to erect it for me in June. Due to the delay ( and not being advised of this delay) I have not found anyone to construct it so I can’t comment on its final appearance. That said when it arrived the delivery driver helpful
