I love WAEPA. I was glad I didn't stick with FEGLI for life insurance as a federal employee - it was much more expensive for less benefits, in my experience. WAEPA has been terrific. I've gotten a... See more

Amazing company that continues to give back to it's customers!
Thank you for granting a scholarship to my daughter. Your kind contribution will assist her in achieving her goals and lessen the financial burden of doing so.
I've been a member for over 20 years, and have always received quick and professional responses to any questions. WAEPA employees have always been extremely helpful.
The online application process was seamless. If I knew that the process was this smooth I would've became a member long ago.
It is August 2019 and I had no idea WAEPA doesn't have anyone you can speak live with. 2019!!!! Whatever was listed below about the changes they made years ago is a huge lie. Yes, they have a number. But that number only tells you their office is closed. You can only speak to someone via their generic waepa email. AGAIN, I'm sure below I will receive a thank you for being a customer for x-amount of years and they've made changes. email or call etc... That's BS. They've made no changes. I am curious to know if folks are having trouble receiving payouts after their loved ones passed away. I have no clue what to do. I dropped FLEGI years ago to come over. But no one to actually communicate; in 2019. COME ON...

Well, I've had a plan through my father for many, many years. Turned 18 and it became my own plan. I'm now married, so I decided to add on my husband and the person I spoke with said it would be best for him to have his own plan. Cool! Fine! .. But it's taken MONTHS to get each step done. I have a thousand questions and there has been zero communication. I now see from the other reviews and comments that this is not uncommon. I'm sticking with it because it's a good price and I have that "in" so I don't want to loose a spot. But goodness! It can't be that hard to send a simple email back or maybe a letter in the mail now and then! I have no idea how much or when my next bill is, but the on line amount is my old plan... It's all very disorganized, but I hope that once I finally get it sorted, I'll just pay the amount each year and our accounts can just sit there...
I noticed there were actual customer service responses on this website, so I was hoping to find someone to help me because the two representatives I've been working with don't respond.

WAEPA has been terrific. I've gotten a dividend rebate every year, so their low price is even lower than it seems when I pay each year. Great customer service and low overhead which is why they offer such competitive rates.

Terrible customer service. I am so sorry I got sucked into this insurance. The rate goes up DRASTICALLY and benefits decrease. It appears it's a rinky dink type of operation. GO ELSEWHERE or stay with FEGLI as in the long run it's cheaper.

I've been a member of WAEPA for the past 16 years and have been very pleased with their service.

I had a simple question to ask them and it was in regards to the annual distribution of a check that is sent to all members and this generally occurs around October of each year.
Mine was either miss delivered to someone else; never sent; stolen out of my mail box, etc. If it was sent to me- then I need them to cancel that check and re-issue a check to me again.
However, of course, the only way that I am going to be able to communicate with them is through this needless REVIEW OPINION OF WHAT I THINK OF WAEPA.
I AM UNHAPPY BY NOT BEING ABLE TO SPEAK WITH SOMEONE.,

BEWARE: WAEPA has poor customer service. Their toll-free line won't allow you to connect to a live representative to ask questions or discuss your existing policy. I just wanted to speak with someone to confirm my beneficiary information, just in case I needed to update it. Their web site also doesn't allow you to access your account information. So I was reduced to sending them an e-mail to their generic e-mail address but I doubt they will send me a response that addresses my primary question. I hate to think what my beneficiaries will have to go through when I die and they have to file a claim.
