I'm currently downloading all my videos from Vimeo, they won't let me login unless I verify my ID. Sorry, not having it, why do you need ID but can accept payment ? `bye bye - you gonna lose a lot of customers.

Been a user of Vimeo for ages. Now they ask for my ID in order to """verify""" my age? When even based on the account age itself, if I made the account when I was born, I'd still be 18. Utter disgrace of a service.

They are a necessary evil with spotty…

They are a necessary evil with spotty performance and many errors. I contacted them in advance of my renew date and they gave me a 25% off coupon code and told me how to use it. I followed all instructions and cancelled a day before the end of the subscription year, which they said I had to do to then start it again using the coupon. I even got a post cancel survey that I did. I emailed the rep to say I had done this and how long to wait to restart the subscription with the coupon. Today I got notice that I never cancelled, which I did, and therefore I could not use the coupon since I renewed which I did not do. They are a total scam. Completely dishonest. update: dec 24 They seem to be addressing all of this finally. No final status yet on my necessary refund for first charge, and correction to discounted charge.

My finger is not a mouse.

I publish from a smartphone, and my finger isn't a mouse, furthermore, every time I edit a field, the screen is excessively resized, making publishing difficult, if I published from a PC, the evaluation would be better.

Bullshit age verification

Asking for age verification after someone has bought videos with a credit card is nonsense. Now I'm unable to access those videos without uploading an ID or photo. Utter bullshit!

I have been using Vimeo for over a…

I have been using Vimeo for over a decade, and generally, I think it is a great platform. For content creators looking to get their video message in front of an audience, Vimeo provides a suite of tools that are both effective and easy to use.

One of the standout features of the platform is its commitment to keeping users informed. They provide regular updates and new tools, often accompanied by helpful webinars that make it easy to understand and adopt new features.

Pros:

Longevity & Trust: I have used the platform reliably for more than 10 years.

User-Friendly: The tools provided are intuitive and help streamline getting content to the audience.

Educational Resources: Excellent webinars and updates help users master new features quickly.

Cons:

Customer Support: While I enjoy the platform, accessing customer support could be much smoother. It is the one area where I would appreciate significant improvement.

Vimeo is so much more convenient than…

Vimeo is so much more convenient than sending files to a client or colleague that have to be downloaded before viewing. The intended recipient can view the files and give feedback before downloading unnecessary MBs and wasting time and energy.
The whole experience feels more professional and manageable and I appreciate how I can present my work under my own branding style.

Vimeo is overpriced and has the worse customer service.

I couldn't afford the price tag anymore and they're holding my hundreds of videos at ransom. if I don't pay the subscription in within a year they will delete my lifetime work ( hundreds of videos ). If I restart the overexpensive subscription I will find myself with the gigantic task of downloading hudrends of videos individually.

Use literally anything else for your videos.

I'm more than satisfied with using Vimeo. The showcase feature works very well for presenting my business cases to clients. The best part is that you don't have to use a YouTube background, and it looks much more professional. The functionality is also more than excellent.

Excellent Tools and Experience, Challenging Pricing Model

I had a Pro subscription for several years, and overall it was a great experience. The platform was especially valuable for video annotation, subtitling, and overall workflow long before AI tools existed. The player has always been intuitive and easy to use. I also used Vimeo VOD to distribute and monetize my videos with excellent quality, and transactions were handled smoothly. However, purchasing was only easy for users who already had a Vimeo account. I regret that there is still no option to sell videos without requiring the buyer to create a Vimeo account. Some users logged in only to download the video and then removed their Vimeo login afterwards.

I also faced some challenges managing privacy settings: public folders containing private videos (and vice versa) were sometimes difficult to configure correctly. The main reason I left the platform a year ago, even with a promotional code, was the sudden price increase of my subscription to 200 dollars. This was simply too high relative to the purchasing power in my country, especially considering that payment must be made annually. I even considered switching to a monthly plan, as my activity stops for about three months each year, but the monthly cost was still too high for me.

I am now revisiting Vimeo and encountered this survey as I review the current conditions. It remains a high-quality platform with very attractive features.

Vimeo used to be good

I've been using Vimeo for a long time, with no problems, until a couple of years ago when they started making changes. Since then, it has gone from bad to worse. It's completely non-intuitive. There's no help or information available. You cannot even find your VOD listed videos unless you open every single video you have ever uploaded to their site. On top of all that, it is very slow. I'm currently looking for an alternative as Vimeo just isn't working for me any more, and I'm certainly not getting my money's worth, so time to move on. Have also tried emailing them for help but they either do not read my email, do not speak English, or do not know anything about Vimeo, because all their replies are typical of avoiding the issue. Life is too short!

Definitely be you have been improved…

Definitely be you have been improved since the last update. A lot of new feature has been added. We really appreciate all of these as a content creator. I would love to be involved in helping you out developing new tools for you to improve your services. Something that I can, for example stress is that it will be great for content creators that provide for certain groups instead of having a link with a password it could be a set of different passwords one each different for every single one. Like a pin in that way will be able to track who is viewing and how many times per password or pin or any way to track an audience that is not inside Vimeo team or collaborator.
