A f***g scam

A scam, couldn't describe this experience any differently. I paid a £700 worth pack back in 2017 at the Croydon centre only to completely lose track of them from one day to another. Just disappeared completely. I read that many more customers had the same experience and lost valuable money. I would love to see if anyone pressed charge.

Awful would give 0 stars

Spent £100s with this company on Lazer hair removal packages and kept being guilted into buying another 6 sessions only for the Richmond branch to close down. The nearest branch is an hour and a half away by train and will cost me £20 to get there. When I asked for a refund they said they do not offer refunds so I am out of pocket. They are impossible to get hold of on the phone. Do not recommend at all.

Absolutely dreadful experience

Absolutely dreadful experience. I purchased a Groupon for laser hair removal on my legs. I have previously had laser hair removal at another salon. I mentioned in passing on the phone that I suffer from Chronic Fatigue (M.E). They booked me in then cancelled stating that their nurse prescriber had said I was medically unsuitable for treatment. I am a qualified beautician myself and this is totally incorrect. I had to go to Groupon myself to get a refund and the whole thing seems very dodgy. Now I've read about all of these other bad experiences that people have had, I'm glad I dodged them.

Absolutely terrible experience

Absolutely terrible experience. Similar to others (I have fair skin and dark hair so an ideal candidate) however, after 12 sessions on arms and legs, a year on post lockdown all hair has grown back - its not even patchy its exactly as it was pre-laser! Appointments were never on time and constantly changed, I even had three months between appoitments at times. They tried to get me to buy 8 more treatments, under no circumstances would I give them a penny! I advise you to re-think as well. Just because they seem reasonable on Groupon, do not be enticed by the prices. A friend of mine had 10 sessions on chin and her hair has all grown back and extended right down to the middle of her neck :( she did not have hair on her neck before! I don't know what they do/use but its one big scam. Also they started as VG Medispa > then SkinSpace and now opening clinics under the name > PCK Skin. This constant rebranding in itself is highly suspicious. I am considering taking this consumer affairs - something is not right here. Every person I know who used them has had a bad experience, the lack of regulation in this area means they can get away with substandard practices.

Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs. I had markings left on my ankles following laser treatment and they treated me badly when I raised this with them and then ignored me on all future communications. Very unprofessional.

Absolute scam

Absolute scam. Total rip off, they’ve called to cancel multiple times on the day, you’re told to get more laser and it in fact made the areas way way worse due to shaving and poor laser treatment. I’ve spent so much money there being told I was a perfect client and should be quick. My hair is worse! I’m patchy and have had over 14 sessions on my underarms but still hasn’t worked. DO NOT GO HERE. They’ve rebranded to ski space but don’t be fooled!!! They don’t care they just want to make money.

Laser Hair Removal - works! SkinSpace New Name

To start - people saying it’s a scam and can’t contact the team. They have been re-branded as “SkinSpace” but all their salons are in the same location and customers have moved over - like myself! I was contacted to verify my appointment and told the news. So I’m sure if you contacted SkinSpace they would do your treatment for you!

I’ve had 6 laser hair removal sessions and it was great. I had a consultation where they explained the process and how it’d likely be 8-12 sessions and how it works. I was given a patch test to work out what pain/laser level I could handle.

After my 1st session I was pushed for a 241 offer for additional sessions as I “would need more”. I didn’t appreciate this as it was my 1/6 session and I wasn’t sure how my hair would respond. I was asked this for every session. It became annoying I appreciate that they had to sell the offers, but start looking to sell at session 5/6 or 6/6 not the 1st one!!

Other than that I was in and out within 5 minutes which I was shocked out. Made me slightly skeptical, however, my treatment has been good. I ended up having an additional 3 sessions and now shave maybe once every 3 weeks! I was shaving every other day before!!

The treatment does work (I’m dark hair and fair skin so ideal for it). Appointments were easy to book in. I’m now booked in for my hollywood and can’t wait to see the results! Again, patch test was taken and the staff were lovely.

Gives laser hair removal a bad name

This is not a professional laser company. They base their entire business model on Groupon and have devalued and degraded laser hair removal.

Laser works but it is not offered as permanent hair removal, it is a reduction but if administered correctly, it can be significant hair reduction that may or may not be problematic in the future.

VG Medispa do not provide thorough enough consultations nor do they explain the procedure adequately to clients. The Groupon business model is very trashy and gives laser a bad name. The saving on RRP is a lie as their Groupon prices are their real prices as no one in their right mind would pay any more. I don't suggest anyone pay even their Groupon prices.

I've found their offers on Groupon to be deceitful where they often ask for more money after you have paid claiming you did not pay enough for the intended treatment. This is not true laser ladies and gentlemen, their customer service is on par with a puppy farm. They are out for every penny they can get at any cost and I'm not surprised this business has vanished. The owners should be ashamed of themselves.

If I could give no stars I would.

If I could give no stars I would.
Laser does not work at all, my appointments were constantly changed as no one was available to help.
I had 5 sessions and can't even see a slight difference.
When I called to make my final appointment they insisted that I had used all 6 sessions, which was physically impossible given the date I started the treatment.

They changed their name to Skinspace to try and cover up these awful reviews.

stay away from this place if you value your money

I don’t recommend this place at all, over the last 5 sessions for laser hair removal, not only didn’t work at all, but made my hair thicker. I was also promised that 6 sessions would be enough, upon not seeing any results and complaining every time I went there, the consultant said I would actually to see more hair growth before it going away so maybe I should pay for 8 sessions and in the follow up appointment from that, she suggested I paid for 12 sessions instead! I am utterly disappointed at the professionalism and dishonesty. My friends are getting it done at another nearby clinic for exactly the same price and getting way better results than me, their appointment times for exactly the same areas as me are 2H and this clinic has only taken 45 minutes with me. The laser is far below quality and after having talked to other people that come to SkinSpaceUK, their stories are very similar to mine. I will now have to take this matter further as no one seems to want to take responsibility for the lack of professionalism and excuses given. I am one unhappy client and will make sure everyone knows about it, as I feel like I deserve some sort of compensation for the way I’ve been treated.

Scammers!

I paid around £190 for a laser removal course and now this company is nowhere to be seen and shut down. The website has vanished and I can’t contact anyone from this company. Is there anyone who can advise me? Is there anyway I can get my money back?!

Complete scam

Complete scam! stay away! I booked a package of laser hair removal treatments and I have been trying to get a refund for months, for medical reasons. Their website has gone, the email and phone number no longer work. I am absolutely gutted as it seemed completely genuine. I am going to do my utmost to report them and track them down with the help of my friends that investigate fraudulent businesses.

Constant cancellations

Pretty poor service and loads of cancellations. I'm on my 4/6 session and I've been cancelled 3times (!!!)and with a very short notice. I mean it happens but it's super annoying when they can't rebook you for the same week or even the following one. All I hear is empty promises of how they will try and make it up to me but I still haven't seen the fruits of this labour.
I would strongly advise choosing another place for your laser !

Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves

My experience with VG was that I initially booked a cluster of sessions through Groupon (like everyone else) and found that the wait would sometimes be over an hour. Initially when the place was in the Kings Road it was pretty good - but good staff left and the place moved to 4 different addresses while I was being treated going downhill with each move. Once this happened with no notification and I turned up and the place had gone and VG didn't answer their phones on Saturdays. Having been told that if I was late for an appointment it would be lost, or cancelled less than 48 hours notice I would lose the session I was 'always' on time (except once late by 10 minutes). However when the shoe was on the other foot - they had no problem cancelling on the day. You'd rarely get the same person unless they booked you in for your next appointment straight after.
The below is a reply I received, after I complained about waiting over an hour on a sweltering day for botox - which lasted a full 2.5 minutes as an appointment (I timed it). I was thinking of taking the mater further after the reply, but as I was still having laser treatment I decided I didn't want to be 'accidentally' burned.
FYI - While waiting quietly not speaking to anyone else in the packed tiny room, I asked the reception 3 times what was happening and the reply was 'it won't be long' each time. The reply to my email complaint turned out to be the same person. She then went on to write so many untruths I thought she must have the wrong person; so I replied asking for evidence. The next reply was even worse layered with, well, lies.
You can decide whether this is satisfactory customer services response.

Dear X (me)
I am sorry to hear you have still had problems with us at Vg Medispa.
I am aware you had to wait for your appointments with us, we do always try to stick to strict time slots which is why when you were late (untrue I was 10 minutes early) it was difficult to see you straight away and we were very busy that day, however we did not refuse to see you we merely asked you to wait until L was free.
In regards to your treatment time, L does many different treatments and so her appointment times vary. I cannot divulge what treatment the lady before you was receiving, however it was not the same treatment as yours and therefore it took longer. (I did not ask this)
We are more than happy to continue with your laser treatments, please contact me directly regarding your appointments if you have any problems with timings. However, I feel that despite our best endevours we have been unable to meet your expectations with regards to your medical treatments and were disappointed to hear remarks made by yourself to other clients in our reception area. We therefore feel it would be best for all concerned if you find an alternative practitioner for your future medical treatments.

Kindest Regards

K

My reply:
Dear K
Please clarify what exactly it is you are accusing me of saying in your waiting area and about what medical treatments? Are you saying you heard this yourself? What was said exactly, when this happened, to whom - how many clients and who witnessed this?
best regards
X

Dear X
The last time you were in stood out in our minds as we found your remarks to be unhelpful and fuelled the fire within our reception area, so much so that following clients commented whilst you were in your treatment. You caused unnecessary tension by being vocal about having to wait and also about our professionalism, which both myself and my colleagues heard.
I hope this clarity's the situation.
Kindest Regards
K

What has happened to this place?

What has happened to this place?? I’ve had 5 sessions and I’ve paid around £200 for further. I emailed to cancel an appointment due to health problems and now I’ve gone to rebook and it seems they have closed down! I feel like I’ve been conned. I have no email from them and no communication to say what’s happened. Does anyone have any knowledge??
