Find An Emergency Vet
Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The vet explained everything clearly.
Which doesn’t happen that often.
We were very pleased with the vet

The speed that our dog was seen was very good....no waiting. Being met by the vet at the door was good too.
The costs were explained before but they seemed very high which is why I didn't score them 5 stars.
A bigger sign near the location would really help, especially as our visit was very late at night.

The vets were so kind and made my dog better - even though my regular vet said they couldn’t find anything wrong!!
She couldn’t hardly breathe when we took her to you and you put her straight into an oxygen tent - thank you so much

We took our poorly dog in at lunchtime due to sickness and diarrhoea ( passing blood) sent home being told the blood is not concerning. She was given an anti sickness vaccine and painkiller. After arriving home she passed a large quantity of blood and very lethargic so phoned again and advised to return. We arrived at 9.10pm and left at 12.45 am.There was no triage and we were waiting with an obviously poorly dog and I had to ask that she be put on intravenous fluids which happened shortly before we left.A different vet from lunchtime assured us the large quantity of blood she had passed was not concerning.Since seeing our own vet the next day she had x-rays fluids by IV and antibiotics and is thankfully now recovering.

Took my poorly dog to vets now witham, and was priced £1853 for an overnight stay as we were told our dog of 12 years was seriously unwell, we were told his condition was treatable with life long mediation. We were told in the moment if they didn’t act now our dog would not make, of course we paid which was no worries as we were told he would be ok.i left vets now in witham that night in tears worried about my poor baby and was told I would not called at all and no news is good news. We arrive home to the vets calling my phone saying that my dogs heart rate was better and doing well, I was greatful for this however at the end of the call the receptionist had asked if I had a chance to sign the waiver. Which I did straight after. I picked my dog up at 7:30am the next day and was told he was much better but needed to complete fluids at his day vet, arrive at the day vet to be told he needed to be retested as they needed to be sure of my dogs condition obviously being a vet wanting more money …I take my dog for a second opinion only to be told he is dying and they he had heart failure. I feel like vets now witham have sold a lie. My poor dog of 12 years has now been put to sleep. If I had new the this was the case I would of not made him suffer another 48hours

The staff made our visit as stress free as they could. Nelly was very well looked after by the team. Thank you.

Unfortunately had to take my dog to vets on boxing day. I thought that £340 for 15 min consultation was steep but it adds insult to injury that I now have to pay them another £35 to respond to the pet insurance company (which is not claimable) questionaire

Vets and nurses at practice were very nice and caring.
I found the phone conversation to book the appointment the disappointing bit. Operator appeared more money orientated than anything else
Quite a shock ehen my own vets are the complete opposite and you are only calling because its an out of hours emergency.

I will be sending an email shortly as we had a terrible experience on Tuesday 4th November.
We took a Labrador in who had been in labour for two hours and no puppies
They scanned and said they saw two pups but no heartbeats…I said what about the others and they said can’t see them all on a scan.
At 9.20 pm just after scan they said she needed an emergency C section but would be 3 hours to do operation and come round enough to be released so go home.
I rang at 11 pm still not done operation !
I rang at 12 still not done operation !
I rang at 12.30 still not done operation!
Honestly what is going on to leave a dog in labour for over 3 hours is unacceptable!
Apparently she only had one puppy … how come they saw 2 on the scan?
Sadly the pup was deformed too and they said no other pups there.. but if there were live pups there they would not have survived with the unacceptable delay .
The bill was exorbitant and I pray I never have to use these emergency vets again as there is nothing ‘emergency’ about them!
Plus only sent the report to my vets after 3 days

Vet we saw was amazing with our dog, we had a little trouble totally understanding everything but she immediately administered strong painkillers and sent comprehensive notes to our vets ready for Monday morning so he could have xrays and ultrasounds to unfortunately confirm the mass she felt in his stomach. Only 4 stars given as cost was very very high. Glad to say that dog survived surgery on the Monday at our vets.
