Find An Emergency Vet
Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The response to the emergency with our dog was excellent . We were really impressed with the speed at which the issue was diagnosed and the expertise and compassion of the vet, Laura, who treated our dog who has made a really good recovery after her emergency surgery.

The vet was caring but unfortunately did not find the problem (embedded grass seed under the paw and not in the swelling at the top that they cut open). I feel they should have investigated the whole paw more thoroughly as we had to come back 3 days later when the foot was still infected. The out of hour’s consultation charge of £318 is scandalous. How can they justify it?

I did have a long wait with my dog but it was understandable because the other two patients in front of us were really ill. My dog had done his cruciate ligament so was not in any danger.

Diago and the team were fantastic with supporting me and my 7 year old mini dachshund who had lost the use of his back legs. I am sure his prompt referral by Diago with IVDD gave my dachshund the best chance of walking again. He was directly referred for specialist treatment at the RVC and an appointment secured for the following morning. Thank you Diago, the team working that night and Vets now.

Limited service - not very thorough. Didn’t diagnose issue. Later found out problem through my local vet. Left my dog in discomfort and eye infection turned into a serious infection within the next couple of days.
Mood in waiting room very low.
Lack of advice on managing condition beyond visit. Left with no pain relief which left my dog in discomfort for a couple of days. Really disappointing.

I was just extremely impressed by the service I received. We had to wait a bit but that was understandable because my dog wasn't ill and the other two in front were. There was a 12 Week poorly puppy so was more important. My Ollie had hurt his back leg so as long as I kept him still he was ok. After service was brilliant too. They helped with my insurance claim. Didn't have to worry about anything.

Was very reassuring to be able to speak to to a vet via video link on a Sunday. Confirmed what I'd thought was wrong with my dog and how to proceed.

Treatment was perfect but to be told I I can't pay up front to go away or leave my in labour dog for 7 hours to take her to non emergency vet.., knowing she will lose pups and possibly die is not how I think vets should behave. It is money first ,no consideration to animal welfare. Like third world country. Fortunately I was able to pay
