Find An Emergency Vet
Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

After a long wait was sorted with over priced medication when asked if covered by insurance was told yes we deal with all the time so out of 407 I'm getting back 200 as some stuff not covered and changed a 25 administration for a a4 page joke joke joke

It was just very reassuring (and significantly cheaper) to have the option for a video consultation. The vet was smashing and gave all the right advice. It was exactly on time. Have used the service before and would use it again.

Very good service and cant fault the nursing staff or vet who were wonderful. The cost however £298 for a consultation at 10am on Sunday is ridiculous (lasting no more than 15-20mins). I fully accept there is a premium to be paid but i contacted another local emergency vet hosptial and there charge for the same time was £140 for initial consultation, unfortunately this one didn't cover my vets... But £298 compared to £140 is robbery and cant be justified, you have zero choice but to pay to take care of our pets especially with our very young puppy. If it wasn't for the great care and lovely staff i would have given 1 star purely based upon the price. I'm sure many people decide to wait the day because of the prices putting there pets at risk. even the medication we were given was £47.00 but i could have picked this up in pets at home for £15.00, again expect a mark up but is a ridiculous uplift.

dealt with our problem quickly and efficiently
Only dissapointment i had was the administration cost of the 3 injections which were completed in around 30 seconds ... £21.75 each x 3 .... bit steep

On Boxing Day my cat Luna, out of the blue, had some kind of fit.
She was nearly 16. The vet told us she suspected she had liver and kidney failure and a mass,
We did the kind thing and let her go. The vet, was clearly very experienced but, her people skills were lacking. I said my cat was purring as I held her, so hopefully she was taking comfort from me being there. She said “no, she in pain, cats purr when in pain”
I didn’t need that. She said I could hold my Luna, next thing she is injecting her on the table. I put my face next to Luna in place of holding her. I went to pick her up, the vet said she wanted to check she was gone. She the scooped Luna in her blanket and her head drooped over as she didn’t support her head. This was awful to see, it further upset my adult daughter who was with me, it was awful.
Again, after cuddling her for a few minutes I asked the vet could I pass Luna to her. As I did she almost let Luna fall out of the blanket.
The cost….. I would pay anything for my pets. Luna wasn’t insured as she was a house cat and the odd treatments she needed I just paid for.
I understand they are an out of your vet and were told on the phone it would be £298 for the consult. The total bill was £557. She had two injections and no other treatment.
We left home at 12.27pm and were back home at 1.23pm. We were in the surgery for half an hour. We paid immediately, we did have to wait for the bill to be done and left.
Afterwards, we were send two invoices and a text message at 5.56pm.
Wishing you a safe journey to our clinic. Directions: Vets Now, Unit 1 Southdown View, Military Road, Hilsea, PO3 5FS. Tel: 02392178098

This was not what I needed hours after.
I understand out of hours on Boxing Day would come at a price. However, I feel that was a very high price to pay for half an hour. All that said, it’s not the money, I paid without question, I just feel very let down.
One last comment. Thankfully my daughter was out of the room when the comment about purring was made. She has taken great comfort that Luna was purring. I wish I had that comfort too.

Had a very sick new puppy who had vomited 6-8 times over the course of the evening so having refered to the video vet I took her in. They saw us at midnight on a Friday night. All v friendly thorough and professional. diagnosed as a likely bug but v reassuring for a new owner. Pricey but worth the reassurance at midnight on a Friday night.

We had an outstandingly good experience with Vets Now in Hilsea on Sunday night, when we had to rush our little dog Rollo to them for help. The receptionist was so calm and helpful and the vet, Nick de Brett was just incredible! Nothing was too much trouble and I felt as comfortable as I possibly could, in the circumstances, leaving my very very dear, and extremely anxious little dog in their care. I called some time after midnight with a question and it was Nick who answered my call and told me that he was in fact with little Rollo right then, monitoring him. We feel so grateful that Nick was on that night and that Vets Now were there to help in our hour of need. Highly recommend. Thank you all.

A lovely receptionist / nurse answered my call in the early hours of the morning … I think the vet was Lucas .. very professional and caring with my son’s little Griffon who had a very bad tummy upset … gave him a thorough examination and two injections . I was so relieved … but the price was £368 . However I was grateful for this service ✨✨✨✨
