Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Staff were lovely very professional and caring only problem was the price very expensive especially if the insurance won't cover it pdsa are in the same building using the same vets but at least 1000 pounds cheaper we had to take our dog out because we couldn't afford it but that's the only complaint

Cost was astronomical, I feel for people who can't afford it and have to watch their animals suffer.

Really poor diagnosis of my pet , cost me £400 for what i would say was a rip off ,as soon as my own vet saw my dog walk in he diagnosed it as a knee injury, no £1300 ex ray needed , rest and recuperation

Had an emergeny appointment at the Liverpool branch. The vet diagnosed my pet with trapped wind, and gave probiotics. The cost was over £350 for this visit (just a ten minute consultation and probiotics). The next day I took my pet to the vet - and was diagnosed with a back injury. Totally wrong diagnosis. I don't mind being charged £302 to see a vet - if it is good service.....waste of time and left my pet in pain.

We used this practice for Out of Hours as our registered vets was closed. Excellent service and advice given by the vet. Minimal waiting time and clean practice with welcoming receptionist.

First Class service.
Our dog had been in a Specialist Vet hospital away from home she fell ill a few weeks later when home.
Took our Dog here in the middle of the night.
The vet was very thorough.
Took the time to read the notes and contact vet who had been looking after our dog to come up with the best plan.
She explained the benefits of what we could and couldn't do.
I cannot fault the lady help her experience showed, she was very compassionate too.

Absolute rip off, no interest in the welfare of the animal simply driven by the desire for profit. My ten year old Old English Sheepdog was poorly so I went along to Vets Now as I was signposted by the answering message from my regular vet, charged £411.00 for a ten minute visit two injections and what amounted to a bottle of canine ibuprofen.
Two hours later my dog was haemorrhaging blood, I called back seeking help only to be told by an ambivalent man on the phone "you'll have to pay another £300.00 consultation fee and £5000 if she needs an operation." When I questioned why so much money at £5000 his response was “I don’t set the prices.” His demeanour was such that he didn't care less. I contacted Animal Trust who are some 24 miles from me, they asked for the records to be sent from you across to them, I had to chase Vets Now up several times, each time being fobbed off with some excuse or other.
Only when I requested a data subject access order for the telephone conversations I was involved in and advising the call taker that if my dog didn't survive due to the intransigence of Vets Now I would be holding them responsible. Fortunately Animal Trust managed to operate and saved my dog's life - the price £914.00 which begs the question why did Vets Now want £5300 (including additional consultation fee) for an operation that was done for £914.00?
That's not profiteering that's holding a gun to the head of an emotional pet owner and exploiting those emotions to maximise the money they can extort.
If I could give them no stars then I would. DO NOT USE THESE CHARLATANS. Foe those living in Liverpool there's an Animal trust opening in Knotty Ash.
