Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The out of hours emergency service was excellent. This is not our usual vet, but if it wasn't so far from us, we would definitely consider using them in future. The vet was incredibly caring to our dog, and saved his life that night. She was also very kind to us. They also notified our own vet, who called us the following morning to arrange a follow up.

They were professional, kind, they adjusted to the pets needs. Mickey was extremely anxious and would not let the vet examine him. They put things in place so he could be examined and have an xray. They acted with gentleness not just to your pet, but towards you too.

There when you need them Can not praise them enough at Herne Bay for their help with our George when he was not very well at all. They were spot on and so helpful and compassionate towards him and us.Thank you so much.

Great service for our poor Doberman in need after a gastrointestinal hemorrhage. We were seen quickly, and the vet normalized a scary experience that our earlier vet at the surgery had not. Had we been told this earlier, we would have not wasted valuable emergency vet time and saved a huge £324.50 consultation. Great service, lovely vet with knowledge and experience, and local to us - which at a time of need was priceless.

Visited out of hours as my dog was bleeding from the mouth. All concerns addressed & advice given , along with painkillers until we could get to our own vets in the morning.
Friendly reception staff & a lovely vet.

We used Vets Now as an emergency vet when my cat ate some rasins (!). They were absolutely fantastic, both on the phone and in person. We were seen very quickly and the lovely vet we saw was very kind and put us at ease and was very reassuring, especially as our own Vets had been very unhelpful! Thank you, Vets Now!

For an emergency service charging a premium, you expect top service.
Whilst the immediate injury to my dog was dealt with, I didn't feel that the vet did enough to check for signs of infection etc. A good vet would have given the dog a complete head to tail check for any indications of infection etc. I wonder if this is down to using locums who are typically not as experienced.

These vets are lawless criminals. They treated my dog with drugs without consent. BEWARE, they are thieves if they work without any guidelines and should be avoided if yolove your pet!

The team who saw Oscar were incredible! He is a very nervous dog and they were happy for us to wait in the car until he was ready to be seen to let him be in his safe place. I cannot thank them enough for how they dealt with him

Awful service, the only thing they are interested in is taking your money!! Steer clear of these scammers. They did not look after my dog at all and charged me a lot of money for the pleasure.

Initial contact was good and clear instructions to attend the clinic.
On arrival, pleasantly met and accommodated jn waiting room.
Once I had seen the only vet on duty, we waited 4hrs to be seen again and discuss outcome. This was quite rushed and felt the decision to put my dog to sleep was the only option, which I did not do and took him home,.
I felt the explanation of test findings was confusing as there was no one thing determining my pets illness and felt everything was thrown at me.
Long wait due to lack of resources and staff at the clinic for the amount of people needing ti use the service.

The practice was so helpful, we were in bits with worry about our dog, but they couldn’t have been kinder or more thorough.
