Find An Emergency Vet
Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Basically you saved my dog from a potentially critical situation and made the right decisions at the right moments. I appreciate the busy nature of the place, the charity side of it all and could see how stressful it is for the receptionists dealing with the phone calls and stressed pet owners. I feel we were met with the right energy, the correct decisions and ultimately there was good care taken of Ziggy. The Vets and nurses I had interactions with were all wonderful, and I wish there were more of you out there. The service is amazing and I will certainly stay in the loop, and perhaps find a way to support the organisation in the future when I am able to do so. Well done and keep up the fantastic job, the world needs more of such services. Thank you all x

I have a 5 month old Cocker Spaniel. She lost the use of her back legs as well as acting strange, being snappy and shaking. I was able to go to the PDSA where VetsNow is based and was seen within 1/2 hour. Staff were great and the lady receptionist was fantastic as my pup started shaking very badly and took her to a nurse to check her over. I have never had to use out of hours vets in over 35 years and they were absolutely great

Can not thank everyone enough for their care & professionalism with our dog in a diabetic emergency.
So caring and friendly with the best advice!
We owe you a lot for helping us & our furbaby.

We went with our green cheek conure and even if they haven't had an avian specialist they were more than happy to help us and look at our little one, even give him some injections.
The vet was very kind and she handle him with care.

On arrival at the clinic, a vet was not available and on site for over an hour.
The reception staff were friendly and helpful, but I did find it distressing that I could hear telephone calls from behind the reception - enquiring when a vet would be on site and mentioning that my cat was in critical condition (without any one speaking to me about it).
When a vet did finally arrive - all staff were lovely and helpful.
Also, I was able to telephone to check on my cat throughout the time she was there and I was kept up to date.

Excellent service but the cost was exorbitant. Over £300 to step in the door. The Vet was fantastic. Cannot fault all the staff.

What an absolute shambles of a company. This establishment is merely a licence to print money with its extortionate fees and wrongful diagnoses. How they managed to diagnose my pet as having mouth ulcers only to be told 2 days later it was incorrect after having paid out over £600 is beyond me and absolutely day light robbery. The only reason i gave 1 star was that was the minimum it would go to. Would i recommend this company ? Absolutely not, not even to my worst enemy. The wrong diagnoses ended up with my pet having to be put to sleep. This establishment should NOT be allowed to continue robbing innocent hard working people. I understand out of hours incurrs fees but cost aside they didn't even do the basic checks. They jumped straight in, gave me a price then still added another £200 more to the bill. Shocking service, will NEVER use them again. Would much rather pay the earth to an establishment who actually care and takes time in the job they do

I want to make a complaint about the experience I had and would like a refund I was charged £315 00 for a vet to listen to to my dog KC heart , we was the over 3 hours she then said we need to go over 2 1/2 hours away to a vet hospital it would cost£4000 to £6000 to have he’s eyes looked at , my daughter got us in to newnham vet hospital who done eye test and gave us medication for trauma to head and only charged us £350 with medication . His eyes are now fine . She obviously didn’t know what she was talking about , I won’t ever go to that vets again and would recommend anyone with what ever pet they have . I need an address for the complaint department please disgusting what we were changed for nothing. Frances natuzzi

Your cat is having a seizure, nearest emergency vet is a 26 min drive away, at 1am. You get there, temperature taken and told, she seems ok, it may happen again but we don’t run tests etc. so go to your own vet in the morning. Oh and for this 5 min consultation pay us £313.50. I’m lucky enough to drive and be able to pay this extortionate amount but if you aren’t and you have an emergency it’s likely to be the animal that ultimately will suffer. Fee’s are unjustifiable IMO.

My 14 year old Staff wasn't very well so took him to PDSA close to us they gave us some good advice on what to feed him.

Was treated with disrespect was left in a room for an hour and a half with a bleeding dog having a miscarriage and told it was non urgent by the receptionist. Vet finally saw my dog. Scanned her and said go home I can’t do anything for her. Our scanner is not very good. Get her scanned again in 48 hours. I was speechless. And they charged me over 500 pounds for that. I went straight to another emergency vets who immediately performed a c-section on my female. Please do not go to Vets Now. If I had left it 48 hours longer my dog would have not survived 😢

Fantastic vets, was really kind and honest, not just about the money like some places. They have helped us twice now and once told us not to come in with our boy after his first seizure as could cuase another. I have been really impressed with them.
