Find An Emergency Vet
Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

We were on holiday so we were panicking a bit about our dog. They were really helpful, very knowledgeable and they really put our minds at rest that it wasnt a serious problem whilst still recommending we get our dog checked with our own vet when we get home. Can't recommend them highly enough. If we lived closer to Wales we would try to change vets to join them. Thank you to all of you

I had the misfortune of one of my ferrets taking a turn for the worse, having been told a couple of weeks before that she was seriously ill. I’m not local, so I rang these ( I can’t even bring myself to write the name of the company )
I told them she needed to be euthanised and explained that she had prolapsed and some of her inners were now actually protruding out.
The individual I spoke to told me to bring her in and it would be £500!! Yes FIVE HUNDRED POUNDS.
I told them again she needed to be euthanised, as she was terminally ill ( in case he misunderstood) Again he repeated £500, including consultation.
I explained that she didn’t need a consultation and she was a ferret not a shire horse.
Needless to say I didn’t go. We nursed our girl and kept her comfortable and took her to a local vet a few hours later.
We were treated with respect, and my girl given dignity and care by professionals who actually cared for her as opposed to their bank balance. It cost £61.
I shall be writing a review for the vet in question as they were excellent.
BTW…. Before you send me your big standard reply like you have done other poor reviews, don’t bother as I’m as interested in answering you as you were stopping my girl suffering.
I have just had a reply from these…
A) I told them not to bother
B) My review quite clearly states I DID NOT ATTEND, but went elsewhere.
It’s obviously they don’t even read the reviews or they wouldn’t be asking the location/date/etc of my attendance. Absolutely pathetic

Would rate 0 if possible. Was woken this morning by my canary in distress, was at the bottom of the cage and i knew straightaway it was serious and that he would likely need to be pts. My vets open at 08-00am and i could find no other vet open, only vets now.
I rang them and explained what was wrong and i asked what it would cost for a canary to be pts, i couldnt believe my ears, was told in their words "It will be over £300" absolutely disgusting, these robbers should be ashamed.
*UPDATE*....Sadly my canary was put to sleep at my usual vets earlier today, cost including consultation fee £40. Makes me angry Vets Now trying to justify what they said earlier this morning that the cost would be more than £300.

What a lovely team! Friendly reassuring greeting, very sympathetic and supportive just when you need it.
Took my very anxious dog as an emergency and we were both put at ease immediately.
My dog had a thorough examination and blood tests. I was kept informed constantly about what was happening and the treatment that was given. Would highly recommend!

Thank you to Ellie, Louise and Russ for their reassuring care on Christmas Day!

Thank you for being there when my dog was in such pain. It's a shame there isn't anywhere closer, no out of Hours on Anglesey, so had a 2 hour round trip. Monty would get ill the weekend before Christmas!
But I was very grateful you were there. So thanks again.

Excellent service, good communication, very caring and professional. Overnight care is however really expensive.

Be very very careful with this company as said in a previous review, the most important issue is payment, the " Down Payment " is not refundable by the insurance whatsoever .. apparently according to Direct Line its to" camouflage the obscene cost " ... a well known scam apparently with lots of complaints

DISGUSTED they were more interested in getting paid more than the fact my beloved Cat was in a state of collapse servely dehydrated sudden blindness scared and in obvious pain. Before they would even look at him a payment of £298.60 would be required and a £25 admin fee or proof of insurance and to bring my documents and the proof of payments made to the insurance company.
