Very professional and listened well to our problem. Nothing was too much bother. Great with Eric. Explained everything well and kept in touch throughout Eric’s whole stay.

Find An Emergency Vet
Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Everyone was very pleasant and welcoming. My only complaint is the cost!

Have used vets now only in emergencies because we have no independent vets on call 24hrs now when I made the call was diverted to some call centre the line was terrible and for the prices they charge you i would have hoped for a better service the first consultation of over £300+vat is outrageous in the end the total bill was just short of £600 for less than an hrs work the worst bit was the vet wasn’t even expecting me the call centre was far too slow in notifying vet probably due to the poor communication when accepting my call I only ever use this practice when it is deemed a real emergency as I personally think it’s a money making operation rather than the care of people’s beloved pets in summing up all I can say is at least RICHARD TUTPIN wore a mask was not allowed to post D**K

I took my cat there in emergency because of looking poorly and hissing while touching. My cat is very friendly and never gets any irritation or scratches or hissing while touching. I thought he may have some pain or injury. But after the full examination the vet staff told me they can’t find anything wrong but he has high fever and maybe bacterial infections. So given antibiotics and just one dose of painkillers and charged me £457 including the insurance claim charge. While the staff asked me do you want us to do the insurance? I didn’t know that will cost me and she didn’t explain it. This was my first time claiming insurance. Then they asked me to take it to my own vet next day so from there they have found out my cat had a fight few days ago and got injured and infected around the neck scratches and bites on the back. They have to treat him with different antibiotics and given enough painkillers. So I really disappointed why the emergency vet can’t find out. I trusted them.

Best avoided if having a pet put to sleep. My cats passing was traumatic more like a botched execution.
Almost two months on I still can not forget it.

Long waits for an “emergency vet”. Not sympathetic or helpful whatsoever. Provided photos of bloody liquid coming out of my cats behind and received no proper help or advice while i was crying on the phone however ofc they reminded me that if i come back to the vet (within an hour of me leaving there) that id be charged the fee again. Not a great experience so i hope i wont be needing to go back as they made my anxieties regarding the situation ten times worse

1 star purely down to the cost of the consultation. £350 emergency out of hours just to see the vet before any treatment is absolutely extortionate . Vets now are the emergency service for my rural clinic so had no choice. Actually changed my vets as a result of this service.
Clinic clean, staff polite, friendly and helpful. Came away feeling ripped off as opposed to relieved.
Check your individual insurance as our policy only covered £165 towards the emergency call out fee we checked with 3 other vets after this and all were £150 for out of hours which is about the norm . Our bill was just short of £500 for some antibiotics and a pain killer jab with the £350 fee absolutely outrageous. And made us pay it before we could leave…………………….. FOLLOW UP TO REPLY your out of hour charge is WAY more than any other vet. We expect to pay more and the going rate is triple. So a standard consultation is normally around £50 then and meds on top. We have had to use out of hours more than once over the years, probably 7 or 8 times with different vets. And the last time we used the out of hours service with our vets it was around £160. Since the vents have started to use you lot for out of hours more than service the consultation has jumped to almost 7 times the standard consultation fee, that’s just ripping people off hence now why insurance companies are putting a cap on the out of hours fees. It just a license to print money in my opinion making thousands a of pounds a night. And a lot of people without insurance will have to just wait till morning and animals will suffer. When we called up and said we need to get our pup in one of the first things that was said on the phone was it’s £350 to see the vet plus what ever is needed to be done and this MUST be paid before you can leave the practice. Anyway changed vets to a private practice that charges appropriately. And just for the record I have no problems pay 3 times a standard call out fee for after hours service and would normally pay that out my own pocket and not use my insurance, but £500 for a pain killer jab and antibiotic is a complete rip off sorry

I had an emergency appointment through pdsa and am so grateful for these people being there to help when everyone else cannot. Got seen and my pet dealt with after a bit of a wait which was understandable as they were quite busy. There are no complaints from me at all. Thank you for your help.

The people at the practice could not have been more helpful. Kept us informed at every stage of Jess’s treatment. Very happy with the service provided.

I used the emergency vet service on a wet Sunday night. My dog was treated with great care overnight before I moved him to my own vet. I am very happy with the overall experience. As it was an out of hours treatment it was naturally quite expensive. This is not a complaint, merely an observation. From my initial telephone call, everyone I dealt with was very helpful.

I can’t fault the vet that looked over my dog, however the price is beyond disgusting taken advantage of people when they are most vulnerable, when did caring about animals stop and just become a cash cow
