BUY 1 GET 1 FREE LITERALLY

I received your splendid brochure advising on various offers during March & April. As a regular customer who , like many others , have found the joy of gardening more in the last 12 months. I was attracted to your BOGOF of Strawberries from 1st April as I have never grown these before. I made a specific journey today to buy these plants. I selected 20 (4 different varieties) and when I arrived at the till was informed that I had to pay full price for 19 with 1 FREE. Not wanting to cause a seen, I left and phoned your customer service desk from your car park. I spoke to Customer Services , who were very polite, but , after speaking to someone else, was unable to resolve my complaint, other than presenting 10 vouchers at different times ?
I write this e-mail as I feel as if I have been misled by your advert. When I see other companies offering BOGOF or similar offers like 25% off 6 bottles I can buy all that I require with pro rata free stock or discount. I have not had a reply to my e-mail explaining where I have gone wrong in my expectation of their offer.

Dogs no longer welcome

Had the Spring Catalgue arrive and decided to pay a visit with our little dog. Drove an hour to find that there is a sign outside saying they no longer allow dogs.
If this change of policy was happening WHY no mention this in the book you are having delivered? It's now on the website. But too little too late. Utter waste of time

Excellent customer service

Excellent customer service - I'm a bit surprised to see the bad reviews on the customer service. We've placed three orders in the last three months, two went through no problem and the third had some bits missing but when we called they couldn't have been more helpful and sorted it out the same day.

Disappointed Spot of Lunch

Spot of Lunch, very disappointed with Van Hage Cafe. Ready wrapped sandwiches or wraps and coffee in paper cups. Service was really slow. The system was select your choice, pay, followed by table service. Whole experience was crude!
We have visited two large garden centres similar to Van Hage during this awful period and both have been inspiring. Good choice of food with proper china and cutlery. It can be done if there is a will!

Worst customer service ever!

Worst customer service ever!!
I placed an order on line over 2 weeks ago ( a parasol) and it still hasn’t turned up !!
I’ve tried calling them but no one picks up the phone, I’ve sent several emails and only had one response after 5 days to say, it will be dispatch today , and when I emailed bs k 4 days later to notify them that I still hadn’t had my delivery, no response was received after another 4 days . One word “ poor service” don’t place any orders online ... go to Wayfair, best customer service and delivery within 1-2 days !!

Woeful Customer Service

I ordered a garden bench from Van Hage, which was shown on their website as being 'in stock'. Two days later, I received an email informing me the item was 'on order' from their supplier. After that, I heard nothing from Van Hage again. I emailed them and received no response. I then emailed them to cancel the order. Still no response. A week later I was contacted by their supplier to arrange a delivery date. Five weeks after my order was placed, I received the item. Their website information was misleading. I would expect to have to wait 2 or 3 weeks for delivery of a bulky item such as this, but I also expect to be given some sort of lead time before ordering and not to be deceived into believing it is in stock when it is not. I also expect a reply when I email a company. To add insult to injury, I noticed exactly the same bench was £20 cheaper from another garden supplier. Bigger the fool me. They won't be fooling me again.

Lifetime Membership That Isn't

I have used this company at their Chenies site for over 15 years. As a professional gardener I found them useful as their are on the way to my main area of work in Chorleywood. I spend so much there that I paid £15 to join their Gardening Club as a lifetime member (you get 10% discount on live plants). However, I visited today (4th February 2013) and was about to pay, when I was told that the Gardening Club I joined is closed down and I would have to join the new one (yearly basis of £5 and only 5% discount). I spoke to the manager (two other customers were also waiting to complain about the same thing) and he said Lifetime Membership didn't mean my lifetime, but the lifetime of the individual card scheme. This is a CON and surely breaches the Trades Descriptions Act. I wonder if the National Trust Lifetime Membership that I have could also be withdrawn if they decide they need more money - I think not!
I told the Manager I was disgusted and would take my custom elsewhere, as did the two other people about to speak to him. This company will close down within the year if they behave like this - they are already struggling. Also check your till price against what you expect to pay - the tills are often wrong. A friend who goes there said she has complained three times in the last year about over-charging at the till, incurring the ire of the till workers and those queuing behind her.
