We arrived to a camperhouse that was cramped in behind an between other camper houses and a hill. The staff was clearly embarrassed to hand over the keys. We are out all of the holiday simply because the home was damp and dark. That made it a super expensive holiday.

Worst camping experience ever.

Stayed at Camping Cisano on Lake Garda - we arrived to discover our accommodation was absolutely lousy compared to the pictures and description on the Vacan Soleil website. Plus it cost more than a 3 or 4* hotel in one of the cute towns located close by.

The accommodation was jammed in behind another caravan leaving the terrace dark and not at all somewhere one would like to spend time - the fridge and aircon were so noisy we had to buy earplugs.

The local staff empathized with our situation saying it was the worst caravan on the campsite and they felt embarrassed to rent it - and had regular complaints from guests.

However, when we got the opportunity to speak with the Vacan Soleil “manager” we were met with arrogance and a ridiculous process we had to follow in order to complain.

Once our holiday was over and our complaint was formally given it took Vacan Soleil a month or so to even reply or register our complaint. The complaint resulted in an off hand email hardly referring to the points in the complaint and a refusal to make a partial refund as per our request.

Such an absolutely lousy offering and service should not be accepted by the campground, and I would strong recommend booking through another agency - as the campground itself was quite decent especially for families with smaller kids.

But Vacansoliel should be ashamed of themselves.

I am only giving one star for this because I have to!

My family and I recently booked a holiday on one of their resorts in Germany. Wish we didn't bother! Firstly we decided to book one of their mobile homes on a campsite because we'd previously had holidays in summerhouses, and there just isn't enough to do for the kids. So we chose a campsite because there is life and lots of people and a good holiday atmosphere.

When we arrived to the campsite it seemed pretty quiet and when we asked about it our rep told us that the campsite is closed this year due to the terrible floods they had there last year.

1. - Vacansoleil did NOT inform us of this when we booked the holiday! If they had, we'd have 100% chosen another place!
2. Some of the pictures were NOT of the campsite - the playground on the website was NOT this playground in real life!
3. They state on their description of the campsite that there is an indoor play area - There is NO indoor play area!

When I contacted them to ask for some sort of compensation for the false advertising, they didn't want to hear! They've got their money - That's all they're bothered about!

DO NOT BOOK A HOLIDAY WITH THEM!!!

Very serviceminded danish team, that helped us out a lot with our reservation as a close member of the family fell ill.
Also Kim and Elaine at Les Méditerranées Beach Garden / Marseillan-Plage deserves a 5 star rating for the service and friendliness they provided.
Camp site was well kept and nice. Nice (slightly overcrowded) pools and cafe/restaurant/pizza/entertainment area.
Must recommend though that vacansoleil makes bedsheet and towel rental possibility at the camping site.

Camping Riu in San Pere Pescador Spain

I am writing this in English as everybody show be aware when/if they consider Vacansoleil as a travel agent.
On Vacansoleil website, this camping site is supposed to be a 4 star place in a very nice area.
Well, don't trust the pictures! The place should be rated at about 2 stars or less. It looks like a building site, it smells like a junk yard. The swimming pool and the tent pictures are from another site probably. It is NOT close to the beach , (30 to 40 minutes walking,) there is only 20 cm in between tents (where is the fire department?) . The toilets looks from like in between 19, 20 century. Remember your own toilet paper! There is something outside somewhere...
Talking to a quite unpleasant lady in the Danish office, we were advised to "rebook" , which in Vacansoleil language means book another trip and forget about the €800 we paid.
We tried to explain the situation to the Dutch Main Office but they are just sending us back to the Danish office promising to call back.
There was nothing, NOTHING we could explain to their office that could make them move one inch. Basically , you paid and the rest is your problem.
I usually go and read other peoples reviews but since we had a good experience in the past we trusted them .
During our conversation with them they use the "table tennis " policy, drive your customer crazy and tired until they give up. The payment is done, they've got the money ,you're on your own . We have used most of our first vacation day to talk to them and try to get some help to rebook to another site. About 2 hours in the phone. No help at all!
So, dear Vacansoleil , do you really want people to trust you?
Send your employes on customer service training camp. Especially the Danish office.
Make your websites trustworthy.

About one month later we finally received an answer from the Danish office commenting on our complaint that " it is entirely up to us to choose whatever camp site we want" and that it is not "them" that decides the number of stars to rate their campsites but the "locals". So, the "locals" give them a 4 star rating for a place that is less than 2 stars, they use it to promote and attract customers on their website with nice pictures and if asked they make a disclaim...
So basically, they don't care about customer experience as long as you pay upfront. These so called " over 100.000 satisfied customers" that they claim they have every year is probably also "the locals" that rate it.
