Great shell jacket and ski pants for all conditions

I took the Obsidian jacket and pants out to Norway for a week and put them through everything: driving wind, heavy rain, full blizzard conditions and the odd clear, cold day. They handled it all with ease. I stayed dry in persistent wet weather, well protected in strong winds, and comfortable across a wide range of temperatures thanks to good ventilation and layering space.
I went for a large, as the medium felt a bit tight, and that proved the right call with enough room for layers without feeling bulky.
Build quality is excellent for the price. The kit feels well made, practical and thoughtfully designed, even if a few small details could be refined. Fit is generally good, though not perfect in every area.

Overall, I’ve been genuinely impressed. At this price point, the Obsidian set offers exceptional value compared to more expensive brands, and the fact it is produced with eco considerations is a real bonus. It feels like a bit of a secret gem.

Untrakt is an own-label and not worth RRP

Untrakt is an own-brand of the Sport Pursuit website that purports to help brands clear over / end of range stock.
They present the products as being sold at huge discounts but no-one ever buys them at the full price so it is not a real discount and misleading.
I have bought a number of their products and they are not terrible. They are not, however, the quality of the big brands. There are numerous design and quality faults that show the products are not worth anything like their advertised retail price.
For example, on 2 pairs of thermal leggings the elastic waist has just fallen apart after limited use. The cuffs on their ski jackets are not sewn properly so they easily rip and two zips have failed on the trousers after very limited use.
So if you buy Untrakt do it with your eyes open, you are not getting big brand quality.
