Unitymedia is horribly terrible!!!!…

Unitymedia is a horribly terrible Internet provider in Germany because:

1) incredibly bad customer service
2) the company constantly cuts off the Internet in your house without any reasons ( out of 5 days I was at home during 4 days I had no Internet)
3) thir monthly charges are almost the same as 1&1 and a bit cheaper as Deutsche Telekom, but the Internet speed and quality is a disaster!!!!
4) 1&1 is much better as I had it previously.
5) Deutsche Telekom is rather expensive but it provides a very good speed and no cuts off.

Never ever use their service again !

Never ever use their service again !! It is easy to create new contract, but they will drive you through hell to cancel it. I moved to new apartment, their technical men came and check and they proved that it is not possible to enable Unitymedia service here, yet they still charge me 50e moving money and 3 more months internet cost without giving me any internet.... It is unbelievable. And btw their internet drops very often, the support is extremely slow and unhelpful. basically as long as you are tied to the contract (full of term only benefits them), they do not give a damn what happen to you

Awful service, awful performance. Welcome to Germany

Had an outage all day today. Unitymedia were not even aware of it when we called them, said it must be our line and they would get back to us. They never did and it just came back on after 12 hours.

Clueless provider, overall terrible performance, not fit for a family of three to use at the same time. Unfortunately this is the situation in Germany, the consumer gets shafted with telecoms as in most other things. Consumer protection? Haha, good one!

Even UK BT ADSL in the late 90s was light years better than this. How can this be?! What happened to "progress"?

The door-to-door salesman lied to us to convince us to switch from 1&1 to Unitymedia. The guy said that we do not need to do anything, that Unitymedia takes over our contract from 1&1. Now we ended up paying for both for 9 months. The service is much worse than with 1&1. I do not recommend. At least 1&1 gave us a discount for staying with them and cancelling Unitymedia.

Two years I didn’t use this service but employers the second year try to disturb me. Different people twice ( one last year and one this year) came to me and ask to check the plug. They demand to came in my flat ask different stupid question. Please never use this service it’s very bad. I had very poor internet during two years and they have bad technical service too. And now I am tired from their bother.

Good and fast service but unfair payments

I ordered the connection on the 1st of April and already on the 3rd of April, a technician came to connect me.
It worked well and fast for 2 days and then disappeared. From the 6th until the 8th of April, I was without the Internet and accidentally fixed it myself. However, I called a technician before and he came on the 9th of April and checked everything.
I'm glad to use Unitymedia (Vodafone now) but would be great to get a refund for those 3 days without the Internet. Their support ignores my messages and doesn't do the refund. This is sad.

Terrible service

Terrible service. Even after visiting the stores multiple times and sending email applications to cancel the contract, I am still paying for the internet for the last 5 months which I am not using.

I took a new connection from unity…

I took a new connection from unity media which I regret now because of the bitter experience from the customer care service team. Not answering my questions, keeping me on hold for long time and disconnecting without giving any answers.
The same happens if I try again.
This is so frustrating.

Kebernik - uncompetitive, unprofessional and rude

If you call Unitymedia because of God knows what and the voice is female, ask your collocutor to spell her name. If the name is Kebernik (I can't write Miss/Mrs, because she ain't) you will be talking to most uncompetitive and unprofessional person in the stable of Unitymedia.

I advise you strongly to cut the crap with this call, call again and pray that someone else will answer your call.

I wish I could give Zero star to Unity Media.

I wish I could give Unity Media not more than ZERO star. Very bad company and customer support. Often they have problem with their internet service. When you call them it hardly made difference. If I need to take internet service Unity Media will not be on my list. I shipped my router back but they still charged me. Ignore this terrible company. They keep charging you even you move where they have not their service. Absolutely NOT RECCOMENDED.

Connection and price good but customer service miserable

We were customers of Unitymedia for a long time and actually very satisfied. The prices are competitive, the internet connection is fast and stable. In the online customer centre we were able to deal with our concerns quickly and easily.
We recently moved and cancelled our connection in the same breath. The cancellation date given by Unitymedia is wrong. We have been trying for six weeks to get in touch with the provider to clarify this, but we are constantly encountering new hurdles and barriers. We receive neither a reply to our letters nor to our complaints. The employees do not feel responsible and blame each other for their failures. Complaints are even ignored. Obviously, there are no established complaint processes. What does work, however, is the direct debit of the money.

Our conclusion: value for money is okay, customer service is miserable

Unethical

I can only fully support what some of the other contributors have said on the aspect of customer service. It is appalling. My experience:

-Unity Media was overcharging me for a "Kabelanschluss", cable television, which I had not ordered for over a year. This is FRAUD! when I eventually noticed this on my statements, they only offered to refund the last six months
-I have been called again and again and coerced into upgrading and further upgrading the line I have. The manner in which this is done (partly citing service no longer provided, therefore you have to upgrade or the "only a few more Euros" cost argument) is not transparent and in my view unethical. None of these "upgrades" have noticeably increased the speed of the service provided (but certainly have increased the cost)
-Unity Media have again and again added services I have not requested to the package - latest example in Feb 2020 when they added cable tv AGAIN and sent me hardware (decoder and recorder box) which I now need to return at my cost
-I have had to spend an enormous amount of time rectifying the overcharges

All in all, very poor custmer service.

If I could leave a negative review…

If I could leave a negative review score, I would. If you live in a cardboard it will not be an issue mostly but even from 20 ft signal is so unstable it reminds me of 20 years before internet. Even in the best of the times you will only get 1/10th of the speed promised even in middle of the city. If I were you, I wouldn't consider this an option unless you like to suffer.

My pre-writers sum it up to the core

My pre-writers sum it up to the core. Since unitymedia got part of vodafone there is no service anymore and the same goes for connection. Poor connections with pings of 300ms or total cuts. Even the internet you get is not enough to surf actually.
