If I could give them a lower score I…

If I could give them a lower score I would. My parents have been members of UNFU for 30+ years because my farther was a senior UN employee. After my fathers passing UNFCU has been a bureaucratic morass, no sympathy or consideration for my elderly mother. They keep mouthing platitudes over the phone but when it comes to actual help, zero. Nothing. I will ask my mother transfer her considerable funds to an org that actually cares about quality of service.

Archaic

Wow, where to begin.

An archaic, out-of-touch, slow, Kafka-esque bank. If you want a Bank that is as efficient as one in 1960's USSR, this is the one for you!

If you want to keep your sanity, avoid at all costs. I say this as a usually very patient man, but they have pushed it far.

Unfortunately, not being a private bank they have no incentives to fire the ones responsible for this terrible service.

Customer service are scammers !! They hacked my account!

If there is 0 star I will
Give them no star at all. If there’s lesser word than the worst that’s them! No communication , they’re never straightforward in all transactions . I didn’t get only stress but had suffered of mild stroke because of their banking system .
I have to request 100 times for and email 20 times but no response . Theyre only quick to respond after I send payment receipt to them to reactivate my bank account which I paid $1705 and they charge me again $500 to reactivate my card after my bank has been frozen because I haven’t used for 5 years . Now I’m waiting for them to reactivate my account but I requested 20 times and more to cancel my card because I refuse to pay $500 telling them that the Savings account can work independently without a card .
Customer service so poor and I have to keep repeating my request everytime and they’ll ask the same question all the time . Knowing that they use my savings for lending and other people benefited a lot from my savings but not me . When I need my money they hold it . And seem it’s very difficult for them to reactivate even I paid according to their instructions x I’m travelling and on vacation but can never rest everyday because of this bank problems . I really thought that credit union was trusted bank . But the figures aren’t right and it’s not clear how much money was taken because the figures was really wrong !!
Now I’m
Broke on my vacation and can’t access this bank at all ! I used all my money to pay them to reactivate and they guaranteed 100% that I can access after those payments but it’s 48 hours now they never respond ; knowing that they just work at home .
I hope I can give them 0 or lesser than 0!!

Complex system

Their system is quite complex, while I expect for a bank to be user-friendly. I had an issue and couldn't solve it with their email agents for months. However, their call agent Julian was very nice and patient and assisted me immediately. Thanks Julien

UNFUC website states

UNFCU website states: "Our Contact Center Agents are available during the following hours to assist you via phone, chat, and email: Monday–Friday: 24 hours a day (New York time) Saturday: 09:00–17:00 (New York time)".
It is now 12:00 hrs/midday New York time and not a single Contact Center Agent is available - and not like as in 'Busy, please wait' but as in not on duty at all. Nada. Zilch.
Good luck to clients who need them.

The worst credit union ever!

UNFCU is bureaucratic to the extreme! They won't consider individual circumstances and don't care about its members to the slightest! They will instead provide a canned reply to all your attempts at resolving an issue. Plain and simple, UNFCU sucks!!!

Awful bank/credit union

Awful bank/credit union. They deliberately slow down ACH payments so they can charge you an extortionate fee to do it at normal speed. Despite being the UN bank they discriminate against non US citizens. This is what happens when anything is based in the
US. This should be based in a country which can competently handle finance.

Always responsive! Trustworthy bank!

Always responsive, trustworthy. Unlike so many banks they cover you internationally, whether for loans or simply spending on a debit card. They’ve shipped me a debit card abroad to the Middle East many-a-time when I’d lost my card previously. They deal swiftly with scammers or likely scams on your account. I like and trust them and will use them for generations to come unless something else better comes up of course. They’re about as good as a bank can be!

When I have to speak to member services they’re almost always available in some form- chat, phone, email. It feels good to be communicated with.

Not a truthful organisation

At this time, UNFCU says you can have share certificate for 24, 30, 46, 48 and 60 months on their website but as a Member, you want to open some of these, you are blocked. You call them, you are kept on hold for hours without answer then they drop the line. You write an email, they dont reply except you are talking of something else not about the share certificate clarification request. Why advertise it if you dont have the product? That falls short of honesty for an organisation whose word should be their bond.

Painful…

My journey with UNFCU has been painful unfortunately: from their withholding a transfer because "they claimed" that my replies didn't tally with the background info they have for me (yet they refused to inform me of the "discrepancies"), to their refusal to update my residence address in spite of sending documentation to the effect. Unfortunately, I feel that the association causes me more frustrations than benefits.
