***WARNING !!!! **** NEVER TRUST THIS GARAGE WITH ANY KIND OF REPAIR TO YOUR CAR.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was involved in a 3rd party accident on 25th August 2016 and made the mistake of informing my insurance company!! They took over repairs and this is it where the car was taken to. It has been back to them 5 times to date and still hasn't been repaired properly. They are not competent in what they are doing and are dishonest with their information - even lied to Direct Line saying we had not been in contact with them when I plainly had evidence that I had in the form of 2 e-mails that they had replied to. The damage to my car was not overly serious ( a shunt to the back end) so needed repair to rear bumper and boot. Came back without the boot being realigned. They also advised that my detachable towbar needed replacing (even though I had towed my caravan home from holiday where accident occurred without any issues) and that is where the trouble has started. 1st electrical connections wires were left hanging underneath the car so they were worn away on road - 2nd the actual electrical sockets were fitted too low and ripped off after driving over a speed ramp, more solid ones were refitted but were still so low they scraped on ground when car at certain angle and now I have just had my car returned to me after another 10 days in their care with 2 inches of my bumper cut off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My original towbar was fitted by a mobile towbar fitter on my drive in less than 2 hours and had been perfectly serviceable for over 10 years until these muppets got hold of it. It has taken them 5 occassions at 5 days at a time on average to hack my car to pieces!! They will never be allowed near my car again and will be paying for me to have this work done by a professional garage that can be relied on. I have never experienced such a shocking disregard of customer service or such incompetence in their work.

This company is part of the Direct Line …

This company is part of the Direct Line Group of repairers. They are very polite, certainly not rude and I have received regular updates from a very pleasant receptionist but despite this, I will pass on to future Citroen C4 Cactus owners a word of advice.

DO NOT LET THEM REPAIR THE CITROEN C4 CACTUS DOORS. Other parts of the C4 Cactus, no doubt they will do a good job offering a 5 year guarantee on paintwork.

They have no experience repairing the doors on the C4 Citroen Cactus and mine so far has been back 3 times for the paint to be rectified. The accident happened 23rd February 2017, the car went straight in for repair within a couple of days. It is now the end of May and the vehicle still isn't fixed.

The damage was originally a small dent just above the 'air-bump' to the rear door, since then 2 doors have been resprayed, back wing, 2 exterior air-bumps and new trim.

Original quote was £650 from the Citroen agent, this job must have cost Direct Line well in excess of £2500 and it still isn't completed. Each hire car from Enterprise car rentals costs £650. A bit of a joke when I was initially told it wasn't cost effective to replace an £80 exterior 'air bump' and that it would be 're-textured' (sandpaper?) to save money.

I understand both doors have now had to be stripped back to bare metal before paining, lets hope the colour matches the rest of the car and the paint doesn't ripple round the air bumps in the heat. Update, paintwork has smudged a third time, Totally sh1t incompetent sprayers who don't learn from their mistakes.

Its all very good receiving compensation, 3 new rental cars for the last 3 months but it isn't the same as having ones own vehicle.

Perfect repair to high standard

Took my VW Scirocco in after break in , fully repaired and painted to high standard , slight delay of 1 day between advising would be ready and actually turning up but they had to wait for a part from VW so not really there fault , all in all a pleasant experience with regular updates .

If your insurance company recommends them, RUN!!!

My car was involved in a no fault accident on 29 September 2016. It went in for assessment the next day to UKAARC who were recommended by my insurer.
The initial phone call from UKAARC confirmed that my car was beautiful and obviously well cared for given its age.
I was told that the wing would have to be replaced and the drivers door and central support straightened.
I told both my insurers and UKAARC that the rollbar - which had deployed upon impact - would need to be reset by Mercedes. UKAARC told me that this is something they would do and there was no need to get Mercedes to perform this action.
Three days later I received another phone call from UKAARC informing me that the drivers door will also have to be replaced and that it was all agreed and signed off by my insurers. This extended the repair by a further week.
My car came back with damage that was not there prior to its 3 week stay at UKAARC. It also transpires that the drivers door was never actually replaced. They tried to claim that they didn't do the damage until I provided photographic proof of my car prior to its stay with them.
I twice rejected my car and only accepted it on the third occasion as I did not wish to incur car hire charges for damage that was not caused by the driver who hit my car.
I spoke with my insurers last Friday who advised me that an engineer would come out today (Monday 31 October) to assess the additional damage.
The individual they sent turned out not to be an engineer. He was a panel beater (his words) with an appalling attitude. He left - in a huff - within 15 minutes because I didn't agree with his opinion. He even had the cheek to ask me why I take pictures of my car. I'm glad that I do take pictures of my car or they would get away with the damage they have caused by using the excuse that my car is old.
I now have to get a quote from Mercedes or a Mercedes specialist for the cost of putting right all the damage caused by UKAARC.

Got Car back with additional Damage

My car went in on 30th September to the UK Assistance branch at Barnsley which was arranged by our insurance company (Churchill). Car was returned yesterday and I checked the repair to the drivers side which I was very happy with. However, after the guy had left, I noticed that there were a number of scratches on the front and rear bumpers with black scrape marks on which certainly were not there before the car went in for repair, and a large finger length black scrape in the middle of the bonnet, plus over spray on the bonnet and bumper. I complained to the insurance company who had arranged this and was told it had nothing to do with them, so UK Assistance contacted me after the insurance company contacted them with an aggressive attitude from the woman at the other end of the phone who said the car was certainly not damaged when it was collected, and they would check photos they had of the car when it arrived in there workshop. 2 hours later got another phone call to say they would send somebody out to look at the car and he did turn up and repaired the damage which they had caused. As of now, still no apology from UK Assist for actually causing the damage. I would strongly recommend anyone sending their car to them for repair to ensure you take detailed photographs before handing over your car since their statement to me was it was up to me to prove they had done the damage and does not represent sincere customer service with this kind of attitude.
