THE LOST BOYS OF THE 12 TRIBES (Part 2 of 3)

Welcome to Part 2 of this Review which is my humble attempt to fairly and adequately cover the issues raised by the 12T covered in Part 1. This part will continue in the final part, part 3,

Here I begin with some relevant thoughts expressed by ancient philosophers. Knowledge of some basic philosophy, I believe, coupled with our knowledge of science is a much better way of achieving a happy life than by the practise of a religion.

Below also is the truth about the Bible and why it is not really supporting anything claimed by the 12T as they walked out of wherever they were and onto the promised land of Israel. You can read about it in the book of Joshua, and the Stentwood people are very keen on that book.

A LITTLE RELEVANT PHILOSOPHY
Epictetus was a Greek Stoic philosopher (150 BCE–135 BCE) born into slavery.

He taught that importantly philosophy is a way of life and he stressed focusing only on what is within our control, cultivating virtue, accepting fate, and aligning with nature.

Well, I think that basically that is what I try to do and I think the 12T do likewise.

Now below the next section is interesting because it points up the differences of opinions held by Zebulun and Johnathan in Part 1.

The Dunning Kruger Effect says basically that…
INTELLIGENT THINKING, COMPETENT, PEOPLE take the trouble to work out an in-depth analysis of an issue and go carefully. This looks like ZEBULUN (see Part 1)

LESS INTELLIGENT PEOPLE charge in 'bull in a China shop' and mess up. Probably JOHNATHAN (see Part 1)
Simplified I think these are a version of 'fools rush in…'

Typically, if you have only scratched the surface, you may think you 'know it all'. BUT the people who have gone deeper realize how deep the subject runs and are cautious.

Niccolò Machiavelli (1469-1527)
Italian. His life and works have had a lasting impact on political thought and philosophy. "The first method for estimating the intelligence of a ruler is to look at the men he has around him."

But it seems to me, from my experience, that men take the lead in the Stentwood Community, but I know a few of the women and know that they are able, intelligent and may well be better leaders than some of the men. But is there a hierarchical structure anyway? Probably not.

Baruch Spinoza (1632-1677)
Before I come to the Christian Bible here is a snippet about philosopher Baruch Spinoza.

He wrote that God is not a personal deity but the infinite, rational, and immanent substance of the universe, equated with nature itself. He saw God as Nature and Nature as God. Neat don't you think? Problem solved and he was not persecuted for any religious affinity.

So, my thought is if it's all nature, we don't need the 'god' word confusing things. Do remember here that young children need to be taught truth.

Now let's have a 'deep dig' into the Bible, biggest selling book in the world they say. Really!

THE CHRISTIAN BIBLE
What is the Christian Bible? We can look at this easily enough. Pretty words, inspiring the arts, giving people a living, skilled masons doing the building, telling children lies, not truths. Long lists of who begat whom. Rape, odd sexual practices, and child abuse It's all there.

You will probably know that the Christian Bible was originally written in Hebrew, Aramaic, and koine Greek — with the Old Testament mainly in Hebrew (plus some Aramaic sections) and the New Testament entirely in Greek, so there is plenty of room for mistakes in translations into world languages and certainly into English.

The story of the Immaculate Conception is easy to find in Google, and it has caused real confusion and a lot of disquiet in the Roman Catholic Church. 'God chose Mary to be the mother of Jesus because she was 'immaculate'. Another, 'oh really' I'm afraid. Or is it as easy as this? Is nonsense being written, and re-written, by hundreds of clever, but odd, old men over hundreds of years, with time on their hands. It certainly wasn't written by a woman who has gone through childbirth.

The truth about the Christian Bible continues in Part 3. I hope to meet you there.
