HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE
If I could give this place 0 stars then I would.
I booked a riding lesson a couple of weeks ago and I was extremely clear about my weight. I was told they have larger horses and that it was fine. I arrive at the riding school for my lesson, I was weighed, and I even put my weight on the form when I filled it in. There wasn’t a problem. I got on the horse and have my lesson and there’s still no problem, until I saw a message on Facebook from the place stating their weight limit was 13.5 stone. I’d already had my lesson and was left extremely confused. So I messaged them on Facebook when it was repeated again that their weight limit was 13.5 stone. SHANNON explained that it was to do with horse welfare which I understand and that I should have checked Facebook and their website. This wasn’t the issue I had.
No weight limit was mentioned at the time of booking. No weight limit was mentioned when I filled the new rider forms in and no weight limit was mentioned before I got on the horse. Other people in my group riding on that day were bigger than me. Okay, they may have owned the horses they were riding and I was offered a full refund which I will accept.
But the point is they should have been clear and honest from the start instead of setting people up to fail.
They took my booking knowing my weight and said nothing until I contacted them for clarification.
I’ll be pleased when I get a full refund for two lessons, the one I attended and the one I booked for next week and paid for in advance. Oh yes, they happily still took payment in advance knowing my weight.
What worries me what would have happened if I hadn’t have seen that on Facebook today and had gone on Tuesday to the riding lesson?
Would I have been told to leave in front of everyone? What a horrible and humiliating experience that has actually made me question whether or not to continue riding at all.
