It was nice, I used it maybe few times a year when some site blocked my IP for stupid reasons (mainly in US). I could pretend I was in US. But no longer possible with the free version. Would be okay f... See more

Utter rubbish.
Not recommended.
Support is practically useless. Very slow wait times, and do not even hear back at all sometimes. Small server location selection, not allowed to P2P. This VPN is not recommended. There are many other better options like Airvpn or VPNArea.
Using the free version
Using the free version. It's slow but gets the job done.
This was once a pretty decent VPN
This was once a pretty decent VPN, but it has become unreliable and frustrating to use. Very slow, takes forever to connect to any tunnel, with frequent disconnects. Will not be renewing subscription.
Works to perfection
Works to perfection. For some unknown reason, the program "FileZilla" which I use for uploading files to my server is blocked at my school, but with TunnelBear installed everything works without problems.

I paid for one year and then they took money for the second year.
I did not want the second year.
They do not refund.
Be aware.
Using Tunnel Bear 2+ Years EXCELLENT
I’ve been using TUNNEL BEAR for over two years, it’s the best VPN available to date, excellent customer service support. Many friends of mine in the IT sector utilize Tunnel Bear as their brand and reputation has always had the highest standards. Anyone reading negative remarks about Tunnel Bear should really check them out on google as they’re really the best.

Efficient fast and easy to use
Efficient fast and easy to use, also reasonably priced. I have tried two other VPN's but I find that TunnelBear Pro Version is more easy and faste. No breakdowns so far. The free version is only of limited udefulness, you may install it and use it for a few days to find out if you like TunnelBear VPN, thats all. Dont settle for the free version as a longtime solution, you will need the Pro version if you use it every day.
Doesn't work on BBC
Doesn't work on BBC, itv, c4, c5. They either can't or don't want to fix this. As this is all I've used it for , not sure if it works at all.
Doesn't support iplayer, no renewal notification
Doesn't support iplayer. Used to and was the reason I bought it. And OK I signed up for subscription and forgot to cancel but any reputable company would send you a renewal notice after 12 months and tell you your subscription was about to renew. I understand clearly why they don't do this - they hope you'll forget and then auto renew. My fault, but this kind of - to my mind - sharp practice means I'll exercise my choice never to renew my subscription with them again.
Wish they would stop the disconnections
Very pleased overall but it does have a habit of disconnecting after 3 hours or so. I really wish they would fix that. My speeds UK to US are very good and otherwise happy. I feel a number of the negative write ups are motivated more from politics than usage. I have found the vpn service meets all my needs except when it disconnects half way through a movie...
No 30-days money back guarantee.
No 30-days money back guarantee.
Also, the amount of locations to choose is really too less.
Apart from that, it doesn't work to watch videos abroad. Only sometimes it does, but "sometimes" is not reliable enough for me.
It's a pity that I bought the 1-year subscription since it's pretty much a waste of money.
I used HideMyAss before and that one seemed better. (Also a bit more expensive, but at least that price matches the service compared to TunnelBear ones)
Also on the cancellation email there is a button to give your feedback, but when you click on it, you land on the helpdesk where you can ask for questions/help, but you cannot give your actual feedback.
All in all, I'm not convinced and wouldn't recommend it.
(Rating might be modified if TunnelBear comes with a compensation)
TunnelBear VPN Doesn't Work for BBC iPlayer
Very easy to use with awesome apps for all your devices.
However, if you want to use it to view BBC iPlayer, then forget about it. I purchased it only to view BBC iPlayer and it worked great for like 1 month. I paid for the yearly plan. After 1 month it stopped working and now it has been 7 months and it just doesn't work with bbc iPlayer. I have contacted support several times, their answer is that we do not guarantee connectivity to individual websites. A lot of folks who just purchased Tunnelbear to watch BBC iPlayer while in other countries have the same complain.
I think the iPlayer team are quite good at detecting and blocking users connecting with Tunnelbear vpn.
Can I watch BBC iPlayer using Tunnelbear VPN?
The answer is No, you cannot. Please don't waste your money on it .
Used to be good but no more
Used to be good but last couple of months or so have been awful. System tray icon will show connected but you are not. On main screen again part of it showing connected but 'Error' displayed. Constant 'maintenance' pop-ups on initial sign-in. Several times have come out of surfing to find i had lost connection during the session but hadn't been made aware. Have no trust in it now and signed up elsewhere thankfully having cancelled the auto-renewal due very soon.
Unethical Scammers!
On two separate occasions, I Tweeted as they say to do, and they say they will give 1G free within an hour. Two weeks later, they've had their ad on MY TWITTER ACCT for free, and NO extra data. This has happened twice. They send email reply to my complaint a full day later saying my Twitter must not be public, it is and they know because I sent the link that showed their massive ad campaign that they placed there.
Then they send a reply to my informing them of that and say they going to "consent to give me 1G this time". WHAT???? Gee, that's big of you Tunnellbear, after stating that's what you'd do if I did my part!
STILL no data showed up and the next reply told me that I'd have to wait until the monthly anniversary date and they'd add it then. Well, that just came and went with them using my Twitter acct for free ad space two weeks now.
I sent them a final email expressing my opinion of their unethical behavior and uninstalled it on all my devices. If they can't be keep their word about something that simple, why would I believe they actually protecting my communications? UNETHICAL COMPANY. AVOID THEM.
Does what it says on the tin
Does what it says on the tin, no issues tbh, there are far worse VPN providers and this one is reliable, no DNS leaks either 😊
started off so well but...
started off so well but I think they might now be resting on their laurels. The first two years were fine. Lately though, things have gone downhill rapidly. Since mid-December I've put in four requests and had NOT ONE reply. The issues I'm facing are that BBC iPlayer is consistently blocked by their servers on a regular basis. On top of that, Tunnel Bear constantly logs me out on my Windows machine and won't let me log in saying that the password is invalid. it's not because I can log in on my Mac and all is well. After being ignored by them for over a month now, I'm looking for a new VPN when the year I've paid for runs out later this year.
