Trulight have refitted double glazing…

Trulight have refitted double glazing at 2 houses for me and it's perfect. Warwick comes round and listens to what you want without pressure which is great. Your quote is then valid for 12 months. They even got me a bespoke panel for my front door at no extra cost. The fitters did a great job and were cheerful as well as competent. As a customer I wouldn't go anywhere else

Shocking communication

Shocking communication, Warwick attended our address for a survey to give us a quote for replacement windows and bifold doors, he did not do any measurements, assured us of a quote within a week, 3 weeks later no quote or communication from him despite numerous phone calls, please avoid

Trulight

We contacted Trulight along with other companies looking for a quote. Ours is a big house with 19 windows and 2 sets of doors, so cost is important, but only one factor we considered.
I set out below how we went about deciding but, in summary, they have done a great job (even fitting in January!). The quality of the windows is as good as any of the more well-known companies and the fitters were polite, helpful, clean and worked with minimal impact on our home.
Their price was not the lowest, but best value having regard to all the factors. The problem with glazing is that there are always companies out there who will come in with a low quote, knowing they can pick up the price later. On an overall balance of quality of product, the cost, our research into their past projects and speaking to customers, they were our preferred company.
We sent out a request for a quote (see below) and they came back with a fair price, although not the lowest. However, the low quotes all had something that seemed to make them liable to being increased or to lead to problems.
The quote from Trulight was absolutely straightforward, no silly discounts, special offers, salesman reducing their commission etc., just a full detailed quotation, easy to understand and at a fair price that is pretty much fixed; unless you want to change the specification.
I would recommend them to anyone looking for windows and doors in the area.
If you would like to know how we went about it, and ended up with Trulight read on.
We had decided what we wanted and sought quotes from a few companies, all on the same basis, which we could then compare and come up with a shortlist to go to for final quotes.
We didn’t want a salesman telling us their windows were hight quality than others, so worth £50,000 but, 50% off if I sign today, and he can do that by reducing his commission. We just wanted a full price and details to look at by ourselves and a contact to whom we could go back and raise questions.
I sent out photos and simple sketches of the windows, rough dimensions and which windows were to open. In the covering email I set out details of colours, locks, cat flap etc and that we wanted triple glazing. There was no front door, but you might want a budget allowance for one.
I resisted the calls asking for a meeting, only allowing surveyors to check on site, being clear we wanted simple written quotes. That knocked out about half.
After reviewing quotes, we got it down to two companies and asked them to firm up their quotes, at which point both sent a surveyor. To be honest, the quality, design and fittings of the windows were pretty much identical. The warranty was the same.
Trulight was slightly more expensive, but that’s where other things come into play like how comfortable you feel with each company.
The windows were installed about a month ago. There were a few minor adjustments needed and an incorrect panel in a door, which they spotted, that needed to be replaced when their supplier sent the right one, but the aftercare to date has been extremely good. I would certainly recommend them to go on your list.

Excellent

The two fitters, Spencer and Noel were polite, quiet and tidy, they did an excellent job and made sure I was completely happy with my new windows before they left. Highly recommended!

Replacement Roofline and Double Glazing

After glowing recommendations from family and friends, we contacted Trulight for a quote.
We were very impressed with Warwick’s advice and no-nonsense quote. There was no pressure, just help. The price was very competitive.
The standard of work carried out was excellent. The installers were very good at their job. They were easy to talk to, and kept us informed with what they were doing, and didn't mind answering any queries we had. They were very tidy and treated our house and garden with care.
All admin staff were very helpful too.
All in all, I would highly recommend giving Trulight a go. I don’t think you will be disappointed.

Excellent products and service

We have had a back door & recently a front door installed.
The back door has been great, and the installation of the front door was excellent (they came back for minor adjustments, touch-up of paintwork etc...). The quality of the doors is great.
Very friendly service, sales and after-sales. Recommend!

Worst experience, service, communication, etc.

I always try to follow people advice when is to contact a trader and that's what I did when I contacted Trulight.
Unfortunately my experience with them was far under any trade standard.
We had 2 doors fitted in May 2015 after I contacted and paid the deposit in April; reasonable time I understood for a door fitting.
Unfortunately the front door (most expensive £1000+) after it was fitted started to hit the frame more and more, leaving a scuff mark on the door edge. I have informed Trulight immediately and they sent somebody to try adjusting it in the following week. Unfortunately the conclusion from the guy who tried to adjust the door was that "this is good as it gets".
Of course I didn't agreed with the answer so I asked again what they can do more to fix the situation.
After sending other teams to do the same thing as it was tried by the first guy, Trulight decided that is time to try "re-sitting" the door by the same guy who initially fitted the door - which I agreed hoping it will just get better.
Unfortunately after this operation the Trulight employee - after a long call conversation with somebody, I assume from the office - told me that the door can't be fixed. Of course I asked what is the problem and how we can find a solution for it. He told me that the door measurements were wrong and because of that the door cannot be fixed. As a solution, he said, Trulight is going to replace the door at their cost and he is going to take the measurements again. He is going to personally come back when the door will arrive from the manufacturer and do the fitting himself.
He apologised for the situation and asked me to have patience waiting for the door. I said that he shouldn't be sorry as i thought it was not his fault and agreed to wait for the door.
He told me the door now is going to be only temporarily fitted with no trim around the frame but only some filling foam. As the door shuts worst than before, it will require to be slammed due to too much friction with the internal frame gasket. As it was no alternative and I was promised a fix for the door I had to accept the situation and wait...

As first time I knew it took a month for the door to arrive so I kept quiet for 3 weeks when I called Trulight for an update.

SHOCKING!!!
I was told that the decision for my door hasn't been taken and that needs to be done by Warwick who is off for a couple of days. Of course I was very disappointed by the news an I told them I will really want to have a feedback in that week. Probably I was not so surprised when they didn't came back after "a couple of days".
I called them again and the reply was that Warwick is off for few more days and they will give me an feedback soon as is possible.

Unfortunately, this vague answer which was not new anymore made me stop calling and start having only written conversation with them. I started to see this time how the formal/legal route could solve the problem as no answers and solutions are coming from Trulight after a few weeks from my last call.
After almost 5 months we are in September now, with no resolution from the mentioned company and very little hope that something will be done this year.
I hope this winter will not be too cold or I will have to get some filling foam to fill the gaps between the wall and remaining door frame. All these just to keep my wife and 4 years daughter warm and safe in our new house.
