I've been trying to speak to someone all morning after eventually finding a phone number, but all you get is " it has not been possible to connect you, please try again later" and I still can't get passed "log in" no matter what you press it keeps taking me back to "log in" what a shambles of an organisation.

I cancelled my subscription in 2024. I asked for my details to be removed from their system. Received a conformation that this had been done. I have now been receiving emails from them ever second day since the 2/3/2026. Rung and asked to make sure that my details were removed on the 5/3/2026. Confirmed again, but still receiving emails. When I went to their site to get a contact number, my new security software blocked their site due to malicious content. They tried to access my computer.
DO NOT USE TREND MICRO ever. If you have this, get rid of it.

I have used Trend Micro for about 3 years and recently expired.
It was great when I was using basic web protection for my mobile phone.
I just purchased 2 years subscription for 3 devices.
Pain in the bump when trying to install in imac.
Then I installed to my current Android phone. My subscription had extras like Web guard etc.
In order to set up a few of these extras, I was prompted to ALLOW FULL ACCESS to my device - stating TM will have CONTROL if my device - so I ended up Not setting the extras I paid in advance for.
I went into TM website to send feedback. I wrote something to the effect:
- paid for something I cant use without concerns
- full access to device meaning giving TM Control over my device
- I paid for Protection NOT VULNERABILITY
- FULL Access means accessing My Privacy
I clicked Submit and an inbox appeared - Discussion.trendmicro.com says :
"Suspicious activity detected. Form submission blocked
- then cleared my thread post
Very Suspicious that I pay for Protection and TM WANTS to CONTROL me - this is the real world
Cannot cancel auto-renewal
I don't think there is anything wrong with their software, but I am giving a low score because it is not possible to turn off auto-renewal, and there is no way of contacting support.

If I could give zero I would. Bought a product key from Hervey Norman and as I follow the steps on trend micro to activate it takes to where I’ve got to put in my credit card again even though I’ve already purchased it. It’s meant to be a 1 year plan not roll over, why can’t I just put the dam code in.

Purchased Trend Micro anti-virus with a $20 cashback offer. Submitted the request for cashback and it was rejected even though information was provided.
The cashback offer is a huge scam and Trend Micro will do anything they can not to pay up on their promises.

I turned off automatic renewal and cancelled my subscription to Trend Micro last year, and they still charged me today for a new subscription when I don't even have that card anymore. I asked for a refund and said I don't want to use their services anymore, and was asked if they could give me 3 months extra for free to not get a refund instead. Not a chance!! Told refund would take 5-7 business days, email said could take 14 days. Would not recommend at all.
Fraudulent Transaction
After cancelling Trend Micro and moving elsewhere several years ago, Trend Micro keeps trying to bill me for annual subscription. I have sent them emails and cancelled a number of times to be charged again this year for a subscription I do not have. It is nothing short of fraudulent.
Good product - terrible service
I like the Trend Micro product that I have, but I have been plagued with emails from a previous activation code begging me to come back to Trend Micro. I didn't want to unsubscribe from these emails as I thought I may miss important information for my current plan. I have emailed them many times, with no response so I thought I would ring. However, I have found it is impossible to speak to a real person. When you ring, they tell you go online and talk to a help bot. It is impossible to speak to a real person. All was going okay with the bot until I was told I was being transferred to a tech person, and they wanted me to fill out a form with my credit card details. No thank you! I don't need to pay anyone anything. I just need someone from Trend Micro to cancel my previous activation code!!! It is their problem as they gave me the new activation code, and I can't cancel the constant emails that relate to the previous code. I ended up unsubscribing, so hopefully that will get rid of them bombarding me with emails, although I will probably miss getting a reminder when my real subscription is due. I think I will renew with some other product when this subscription ends in 2027 as Trend Micro's service is so poor.
Rubbish
I have been with Trend Micro for over 15 years and all good up until they forced me onto this new Trend Mico ID protection. I cannot open my password manager without waiting hrs.I have spent close to a full day with very helpful assistance and they cannot fix except to say you will have to wait of an update.
They had a system that worked and now they have one which is complete and utterly rubbish. Will not stay with them when my subscription is finished.
Don't use auto renew
I have had no issues with the product. It has provided a good anti virus programme and vpn etc for four years. But then I decided as the price online was more and had increased, that I would like the option of not auto renewing. They have made this so very difficult. So much that it borders on a scam. You need to find the instructions on how to unsubscribe, not so hard but need to sign into the website. You follow instructions and get a message telling you Oops there's been an error, try again later. Doesn't matter how much later, you never get the u subscribe button to work. The website sends you all over the place, to support and various help bots, and then you end up back at Oops try again later. It took me three hours before I finally got to a chat that wasn't a robot, who then sent me a link to a support engineer! Who then wanted the mile long seriel number which luckily I'd got, before he would cancel the subscription. Otherwise you'd need a case number while you found the seriel number to send him. The anti virus software itself has been fine, but this experience has made what would have been four stars drop to two, and I'll probably look for a different anti virus app.

I had an unused unopened Trend Micro antivirus that was from 2022. It would not activate because somehow they had it as expired. They refused to issue a new activation code. Beware of not using their product that you buy right away.

I cancelled my Trend Micro account after using them for many years to switch to another company. However, they kept trying to charge my credit card.
Luckily, Capital One caught their fraud and declined the charges. Stay far away from this ripoff company.
Updating Issues, poor Instructions
I have used Trend for many years it has been ok but they stopped supporting my current version and to update today took over 3.5 hours of my time inc 2.5 hours with chat support and still not working it was such a laborious process the instructions were wrong and AI unhelpful I have to call back tomorrow and have no virus protection at all and have a two year licence I can’t recommend and will find another supplier from now on
The new ID Protection for password…
The new ID Protection for password management is an awfull upgrade from Password Manager. Almost impossioble to login and does not work with browsers Safari and Firefox. I will not be using this part of the Trend Maximum Security and probably not renew my account when it expires next year.

Very poor website
Very poor website, which is deceiving. I upgraded my anti-virus software, which indicated that Cleaner Pro was part of the package. When I couldn't activate the product, they said it was a renewal and not eligible. Which was not disclosed. I agree with the previous review. Trend was once good, but no longer. Like most big companies, there is no Customer Loyalty.
Horrible company to work with
Horrible company to work with. Their websites are unusable, and trying to manage your account is done on a series of non-connected websites with names like success and renewonline... you just kinda have to know what to type and hope that maybe they won't kill your email.
