I filed a claim on Travel Insurance for the first time. My policy clearly said it covered Trip Interruption, both when you must join a trip late and when you must cut it short. We had to join our trip late after my husband became critically ill (on a ventilator in the ICU from Legionnaires Disease) and was still recovering on our planned date of departure. My claim was repeatedly denied, first for reasons that were completely unclear. Finally, I was told it was denied because the illness happened BEFORE the policy was effective. The effective date of the policy was the planned departure date. Of course the illness would have to happen before in order for there to be coverage for joining a trip late! Would it only cover you if you got sick ON the departure/effective date? That would be ludicrous. I filed several appeals. Aardy, the company we used to purchase the policy also filed appeals. I emailed two executives at Trawick - I heard back from Bailey Foster, but not from CEO Daryl Trawick. This is clearly an intentional loophole where vague language in the policy is interpreted in an illogical way. I would recommend never buying a Trawick policy.

Ive been using Trawick for years. Never have had to make a claim but I feel comfortable with the Company & that if I ever need to they will honor their policy

Great pricing on the plans that mattered. Thank goodness we never had to use it, but the plans were comprehensive and inexpensive.
