We're sorry to hear you're concerned about your Lilies.

Many bare-root Lily varieties spend time establishing their root systems before producing visible top growth. Depending on the variety and growing conditions, they may not emerge until the following spring. It is not uncommon for dormant bare-root lilies to appear inactive during their first season as they establish below the soil.

We appreciate your patience and hope you'll be pleasantly surprised when they emerge next season.

My plants arrived dead

My plants arrive limp. brown, and mushy. They definitely looked dead but I carefully followed the instructions to rehydrate, then planted them. Nothing grew.

We're sorry to hear you were disappointed.

Bare-root plants can naturally appear brown and limp when they arrive because they are shipped in a dormant state. However, they should not be judged solely by their appearance. We recommend rehydrating them and planting them promptly, as you did.

Many bare-root perennial plants spend their first growing season establishing strong root systems underground and often do not produce visible top growth until the following spring. While they may appear inactive above ground, they are frequently developing below the soil.

We appreciate your feedback and hope you'll be pleasantly surprised when they emerge next season.

We're sorry to hear you were disappointed.

We apologize that your order took longer to ship than expected. During our busy season, processing times can occasionally be longer due to the high volume of orders.

Our Water Lily pellets are shipped as dormant rhizomes, not actively growing plants. Depending on water temperature, sunlight, and growing conditions, they often require time to establish before producing visible growth. It is not uncommon for dormant rhizomes to take several weeks, or even longer, before showing new leaves.

We appreciate your patience and hope you'll begin to see growth as they become established.

Longer than anticipated receipt of plants

Seemed like it took a couple weeks longer than expected. When ordering plants, I waited until I was ready to plant since any delays affect plant health. The plants arrived about three weeks after order.

We’re sorry to hear you were disappointed.

Many bare-root perennial plants spend their first growing season establishing roots underground and may not produce visible top growth until the following spring. While it can look like nothing survived, some plants may still be alive below the soil and emerge next season.

We appreciate your feedback and hope you’ll be pleasantly surprised by new growth next spring.

The items I received were in a tiny baggy, black, wet and out of the 10 of them only one is barely hanging on then 2 more had a tiny leaf try to wake up and rest never even tried to wake up now 9 of the 10 are totally dead.

Bare-root plants are intentionally shipped in their dormant state and often appear dark or black because they are not actively growing. The packing material is kept moist to help protect the roots during transit, so a damp package is normal.

We're sorry you're disappointed.

Many of our bare-root perennial plants spend their first growing season establishing strong root systems underground, and over 90% of these varieties do not produce visible top growth until the following spring. It is very common for only a few plants to emerge during the first season while the others establish below the soil and emerge the next year.

We hope you'll be pleasantly surprised when the remaining plants emerge next spring. Reviews posted before these perennials have had the opportunity to complete their normal establishment cycle can unintentionally hurt our small, family-owned business, even though the plants are behaving as expected.

Took a bit to receive my plant

Took a bit to receive my plant, which turned out to be bits of steams with roots. Planted them according to their directions, and 2 months later, still nothing. They said it would take a yr to root and grow. $40 something bucks, not sure if I’ll ever see anything.

Bare-root plants are intentionally shipped in their dormant state and often resemble small stems with healthy roots. This is normal and allows them to establish more successfully than actively growing plants.
