A fantastic selection of cheeses…

A fantastic selection of cheeses awaits, with efficient delivery and excellent packaging for online purchases. If you're eager to explore exquisite French cheeses right in London, this is your go-to spot. The shop at Borough Market is a cheese lover's dream, and the saucisson is both flavorful and mouthwatering. Their weekend farmers markets across various London locations offer a convenient assortment of cheeses and charcuterie close to home.

Outstanding customer service from The…

Outstanding customer service from The French Comte. When DHL failed to deliver my order on time, I was left without raclette cheese for a New Year’s Eve raclette party. The French Comte went above and beyond and sent one of their employees to deliver the cheese personally. They truly saved my evening and my party. I couldn’t recommend them more!

I went to the French Comte store at Borough market to take some cheese with me to my home at USA 🇺🇸,
This amazing lady “Alison” helped me giving me advices with the cheese and also helping me to find the cheeses I was looking for, really lovely lady and also she knows a lot about the cheese it’s impressive!
I tasted some of the cheese and I can say the Comte and Tome Sheep cheese was amazing 🤩, I loved it
She took the time to vacuum pack the cheese for me and also put the labels with the name of the cheese on each one,
All I can say it’s thank you the French Comte for having amazing staff and cheeses im happy to bring some of your cheese to my place !!

Have now tried their meats.

Have now tried their meats.
The ham is wet and tasteless.
The smoked ham is over smoked and disgusting. It went in the bin.
None of the salamis were any different to Waitrose and a couple were most unpleasant and fatty.
I have eaten Assiette Angaliase all over France and know my meats.
DO NOT BUY RACLETTE OR MEATS FROM THIS OVER PRICED COMPANY.
Go to a decent supermarket for way better values and quality.
Worst on line experience I have ever had.

Wrong bottles of wine received and one saucisson not edible

I bought saucissons and wines from the Borough Market. The bottles I got were not from the year advertised and one of the saucisson was not edible (seems it has been stored in a very humid place or been wet). The 100£ + spent in this shop had been a waste of money for half of the products. I wouldn’t recommend the shop in the Borough Market (even though both of the ladies were very nice).

Dear Jenny ,

It is disappointing to read you have had a bad experience with us at Borough Market and we would have liked the opportunity to fix it for you before leaving such a review on Trustpilot.

If you contact us on orders@thefrenchcomte.co.uk with your contact details and let us know which wine you purchased and which year you wanted to purchase. We can replace it by the right vintage.

Regarding the saucisson , if you could give us a bit more details on what was wrong with it or if you have any picture you can share with us so we can feedback to the artisan producer. We would also be more than happy to replace it for you.

Apologies again for the inconvenience and Have a good evening.

Good products, bad communication

I ordered via Yumbles on a Sunday and paid for delivery in 3 to 5 days. On Monday I received an email saying the goods had been dispatched, then nothing. After seven days I contacted Yumbles who put me in touch with French Comte did not reply until my second email, but eventually told me that the order had been held up because of Brexit. Eventually I received my order but too late for the occasion for which I had ordered it. The poor communication was disappointing but could be a result of the cumbersome system of going through two companies, it is something which needs an overhaul. After all, nothing aggravates customers more than lack of communication.

Hi Anita,

I am really sorry to hear about the bad experience. I have checked the communication and we should have been more pro active in contacting you and offering you an alternative for the out of stock products or at least letting you know that one of the item was out of order.

We created a label with the courier on the 18th January so we can get the packing label and get in the queue for the courier. Unfortunately the Yumble system send an email as soon as we do saying it is dispatched, , which is not correct. we have raised the issue with them , without any reaction on their part.

I have told the packing team that we should have just come back to you on your last communication on the 24th January as we packed your order on that day, dispatched it the next day and delivered on the 26th January

We will work on our communication but it is harsh to get such a review when you ordered on the 17th January and got delivered on the 26th January in the middle of Brexit and Lockdown.

We have been working hard , everyday since the start of the pandemic to keep our business afloat and service people to the best of our ability. we are not perfect but we try our best.

Seeing you have not put a review in 3 years and it is your first negative one in the same period , we must have really disappointed you and I can only apologise once again for your experience with Yumbles.

Do not order from outside London

was impressed when I got a dispatch email 24 hours after my order, 4 days later when the tracking hadn't been updated, I emailed and got a reply to say it was ready to leave the shop, 2 days later, still no sign so emailed again to be told the same.
8 days after my initial order, my package of cheese and charcuterie arrived smelling as you'd expect such items to smell after being out of the fridge for days.

I called to ask for a refund to be told they couldn't refund me because the courier hadn't confirmed delivery and it was the courier's problem, not theirs.
