2nd time I've ordered from here, meat is decent although steaks are poor quality, the 1s in the family packs are anyway. Delivery not good this time, booked date for delivery for yesterday but it was only dispatched yesterday afternoon so arrived today. Don't know what happened, I did email them yesterday & tried using the chat option but no reply yet.

Now received two orders from Fat Butcher. Meat good in both cases and eloivered on time. Delivery company (DPD?) had clear bashed the boxes onroute as both had been damaged. Meat still very cold do OK.

Please stay away if u look for quality. Ordered bbq chicken, burgers and steaks for a bbq. Except for the chicken everything else was awful. Burgers taste like hotdogs and steaks disgusting. Really really low quality.

I cannot believe how I’ve been treated by The Fat Butcher. My 1st order arrived totally defrosted with the Mince a Gray colour. I contacted The Fat Butcher & they replied complete the online form & we will respond within 48 hours. 4 days later no response apart from how would I rate the guy looking after my order.
“0” rated because you have not responded to the online form I sent.
Day 5. I rang the company without anyone available to take my call so I left a message on voicemail. No response.
I warn anyone thinking of doing business with The Fat Butcher. Don’t.

Ordered a large package of meat for a big party. Needed it on the day of delivery. Not dispatched. No telephone number to contact. Automated email implying they might come back to us in 48 hours. Will be a pain to get the money back as hard work to go to the Small Claims Court over £500. Too much marketing and IT and not enough basic customer service. Seems like this complaint is surprisingly common.

Really impressed with the first order so ordered for a second time and what a BIG MISTAKE. Change of delivery day but did not arrive! No communication upon deliver missing item and poor butchery on some items. Some items not correct, emailed with poor communication only refund no apology or offer of good will. For an order of around £140 you would expect good produce, good customer service and at least an apology of good will.

A lot of meat for the money but delivery date not honoured as selected then a problem with courier and meat sat at depot for two days and then delivered warm so straight in the bin. No phone number to contact the fat butcher. One email reply in 4 days asking me to complete a form and now no reply so WOULD NOT recommend!

Ordered for Saturday delivery... 3 days later, still no order and no reply from customer service!!??

The majority of the meat is foreign
Absolutely no animal welfare
Animals are abused and tortured by so called humans
I have seen many videos and the horrific things done to helpless animals is
BARBARIC
Ask yourself why the meat is not up to British standards
No animal husbandry whatsoever. Just tortured and abused so you can get cheap meat!!!

Update - they told us we would have receive a replacement order on 27th June. No delivery. Can never get a response!
If you have placed an order and can’t get a response id suggest contacting your bank and claiming back the money. Seems to be a faster solution.

We ordered a mystery box as our first order. Absolutely beautiful.

It went to pot after.

The next two were basic.

Service continued to slip. We ordered what we wanted ( no mystery box) should have arrived Friday. It’s now Monday and now there has been no deliver.

They take no accountability and can see the tracking that there is a warehouse issue. I don’t hold them responsible for that. But they have done nothing to resolve. They are the ones that owe us a refund and they can refund. In stead they give you a more forms to fill in. Last order with them. Money grabbing people

I've only used The Fat Butcher once. The prices were very competitive, and initially I thought I'd found great value for money. However, after trying the products, I felt the lower price was reflected in the quality.

The steaks were below the standard I was expecting, and the chicken was quite tough with a woody texture. While the prices are attractive and the value is reasonable for what you pay, the quality wasn't quite there for me, so I'm unlikely to order again.

This was a meat order meant to be delivered Saturday. I got tracking saying saying ready for shipment Friday around 3pm DPD tracking said awaiting parcel . Then later on Saturday I get another email and tracking with a different tracking number. I do not know where this meat has been and it has turned up on my front door in direct sunlight even though the box says not to and I checked the internal temperature of the meat and it ranged from 6 degrees C to 11 degrees C which I do not think is a safe temperature for meat to be stored so I do not think I can risk any of this meat . The DPD van did not seemed chilled and it appears the law stated transport has to be 8 degrees or lower the fact some of this was 11 degrees internal meat temp meats it was transported in a hot van

Thankfully I paid with paypal and have had to raise a case with Paypal because reading through the policies on the Fat Butcher there is nothing about perishables other than they can not be returned. Well mine can not be eaten either

When I fried the back bacon ,nasty white gunge came out of the rashers indicating that water had been injected into the bacon . As I result the rasher boiled in the frying pan rather than fried . I made a complaint but never received any response

Very poor quality of meat and bacon was very very fatty and the use by date on 2 packets of sausages was 2 days after we received them

I was just wanting to give everyone an update on this review after Darren reached out to me from the fat butcher.
I can honestly say the customer service he gave me was outstanding. It's not easy to contact a disgruntled customer and give such fantastic service to get the complaint resolved and put my mind at rest that this will not happen again after an oversight.
Well done Darren you are a credit to your company.

Just terrible

Been using the fat butchers for a couple of years now and have never looked back.
Great service, great meat.
